After the break up and even during the months leading up to it, Gerard was super depressed and slipping back into old habits. I'm SO proud of him for pulling through and doing what he loves, which is making music. Who cares what it sounds like or how different it is from MCR. What matter is that he's happier than ever.
I'm not sure why everyone is saying gerard looked unhappy I think he was just very concentrated. I don't know him obviously but my guess is he is a bit of a perfectionist so he was probably concerned with everything going right/nervous. This video means a lot and was the unveiling of his solo career. Don't get my wrong I love MCR to death always will. Its not MCR, its MCR ' S older cooler brother who listens to David Bowie and shoegaze.
Even now, this video is infinitely more accurate to how it feels to spend a workday on set than any of those other polished Making Of The MV videos ever could.
I've seen Frank preform in videos and he looks very passionate. Gerard seems passionate, and Ray obviously loves what he's doing. I can't say too much for Mikey, his poker face gets to me sometimes lmao. But my point is, they all seem to be enjoying what they're doing and that is more than enough, right?
I love Gerard's new music but I got like almost a sad vibe from this video, I guess because everyone's not running around and making a lot of noises like most behind the scenes stuff (MCR for an example and Green Day as another example)

This Making Of video is... it's weirdly comforting? even though it makes me worried about the odd vibes I'm getting from it. Like it captures the quiet moments of living that I covet as an introvert... this video feels oddly comforting/worrying and that combination's something that I've never felt from any other video before... honestly? Hesitant Alien is an album that's somehow completely captured the mood/feeling that I've had for about a year now and it's so weird to see an album that's just so completely... i dunno. I've just never felt so understood as I have with Hesitant Alien. god i just adore gerard way so much
