- Today we check out another band out of Japan called FATE GEAR with their song "Unbreakable Wings". Have you heard this before? Let me know what you think #FateGear #reaction
Amazing band and one of my favorites. Some cool background info on this band is Fate Gear and Lovebites both formed when the band Destrose split up. Members Miho and Haruna formed Lovebites and Guitarist Mina formed Fate Gear. Mina formed Destrose in 2007 and played a huge role in making the push for the all female metal band scene in japan. I recommend checking out more from this band. Songs like Scars In My Life, Sky Pirates, Battle Against Justice, and Megabullets are great songs to start with. Not all songs have growling and Fate Gear uses guest vocalists for all their songs. This song features Nana

Hell yes! Another Japanese gem, Fate Gear! Her and Miyako should have a play-off. Watch Lovebites Spellbound live, you'll know what I'm talking about. 😉🤘

Past videos of Fate Gear shown more of the steam punk elements, from clothing, used instruments, and the music videos themselves. But heck it, I don't care for the label steam punk or army punk or whatever, cause Fate Gear is an awesome band. Hail Captain Mina!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼

This one and the one before this one called Live in Blood are awesome. Mina brings in different artist as she feels suits the song. Especially vocalist. But Nana is used most often because of her versatility. The song Megabullets was used in an anime and is a must listen. Headless Goddess is another one, however it is actually a redone Destrose song but better than the original IMO.
I really dig the mix of elements and vibes they have going on, they really do have a cool sound that I dig!

Fate Gear are one of those Japanese band that tend to be all over the place on music style, and your never going to know what it is until you hear it. They can go from light to heavy and anywhere in-between.
Fate Gear started with a permanent singer, but she became ill and left the band, she now does anime voice acting. Then Mina thought it would be a good Idea to have a pool of singers, that are in other bands, they can use, although they tend to use Nana the most, and on tour they use Nana or Ibuki.
They have just changed the key player, the old one Yuri, use to have a normal keyboard set up.
The bassist in the video, Erika, used to be a full member of the band, but left to join another band, and left on good terms with them saying that Erika would be back as a guest at times. Erika's replacement, Nino, only lasted a year then left, so Erika came back to help the band out for tours and videos. Mina plays the bass for recordings.
On drums you have Haruka, who is a main stay of the band, who is also not an original member. She pops up in a few other bands as well from time to time. She is also an anime artist, and has a anime on Japanese TV.
I have seen them 2 times now, both with a different singer, and to be fair I wasn't really fan of theirs until I saw them live.

Another singer they use is Maki Oyama, a solo artist who has a great voice, who last year toured with Aldious. Back in Black / AC/DC (cover) ruclips.net/video/OjI3ietGzP8/видео.html is also has Haruka in the video.
