To answer a couple of your questions: Yes, Rex will be moving here! Yes, we would LOVE an artist to paint a jungly-theme on the new wall that will separate the retail area and the zoo! We'd also love a mural (probably with a large logo) painted on the new "front" of the building once the garage area is demolished. If anyone has any connections please let us know via sales@snakediscovery.com! Most of our funding is being used for renovations to make the building more energy-efficient, ADA-compliant, and reptile-friendly, so I'm not sure how much funding we'll have for the mural(s), but we'll figure something out :)

You popped up in my recommendations over a year ago with your goldfish released into the wild video. I found you interesting and well spoken. I don’t now nor do I plan to have any reptiles. I have watched numerous videos nonetheless. We do have a box turtle and I’ve caught quite a lot of frogs in my lifetime. I guess what I’m saying is I’m hardly your target audience. However, I really enjoy your videos and the way you share your vast knowledge. Congratulations on your new building!!! I can’t wait to see your progress. You have an awesome channel and you have such a genuine care for your reptiles. I wish you all the best. You deserve it!!!💚
Congratulation guys!!!! So happy to see you guys continue to grow and help the community out so much. When your up and moving I am willing to move from Las Vegas, NV to your location in a heart beat to be part of the snake discovery fam !!!!!!!! Best wishes and keep it up guys
You guys should make a little gift shop we’re you can sell your merch and little snake and other reptile plushies and keychains etc. I would love to go there because I love your channel so much
Turning the greenhouse into a butterfly house would be amazing, and then down the track when you're ready to do something bigger with reptiles out there you could convert it.
I'm from NY so it's about a 19 hour drive for me haha. But you already know I'm making the drive at least once every summer ;) I can't wait for when it's open
Holy cow, you guys! I am in awe right now. I'm beyond shocked about all of this! I am so unbelievably proud of you two, Emily & Ed for all of the amazing stuff you two have done, and how unbelievably far you guys have come since starting your channel! I have been subscribed to this channel for a while now, since back when you only had like 50,000 subscribers or something like that. So, I've had the amazing opportunity of getting to watch your channel grow, expand and just blow up and turn into something absolutely amazing like it is now. Here you guys are, now over 1 million subscribers, over 1 million people who love & support you & who are genuinely interested in the stuff you have to post each week. We all love you guys so much, we love seeing you do what you love doing, what you have such passion doing. We can all definitely tell and see just how much love and passion you have with all of your reptiles and seeing you every week post something new and informative on your channel makes me smile to see just how much you genuinely appreciate these reptiles and how much you absolutely love doing what you do for a living. If anyone deserves this, its definitely you guys. Emily & Ed of all people deserve this amazing building to be able to share your love, interest and happiness these reptiles bring you, and you can now share that love and appreciation with other people with opening this business! We cannot wait to see this progress and turn into something absolutely amazing. We cant wait to see it open and I cant wait to make a trip from St. Louis Missouri down to your reptile zoo! We all love you, Emily & Ed! Thank you both for all of your hard & dedicated work that you put into making such amazing content and videos each and every week! I'm glad to have been able to be a part of making your guys dreams come true with my likes, my views, and my support for your channel. I'm glad my subscription, my likes, my views, my clicks, my obsession with your channel has helped you and Ed start the zoo of your dreams! This is absolutely amazing you guys. Congratulations to the both of you!!! ❤🐊🐸🐢🦎🐍
I am so so happy! I don’t own any reptiles but I found your video on a fluke and I’ve been subscribed since. I’ve learnt so much from you and I’m no longer scared of snakes and I’ve held a few now. This is amazing and I just know you’re gonna be so successful. What an amazing way to end the year of and star a new year. Congrats to you & Ed on this amazing adventure. If I’m ever back over in the states when you’re up and running I’ll be sure to check out your place! Wow! I’m just so genuinely happy for you both and all the amazing work you’re currently doing and are going to do in the future.
What if you used the greenhouse to house real plants that are good for reptile enclosures that you could sell? You could have reptiles out there too but it would be a cool place to grow plants
The room that you want to make a indoor jungle should fit the habitat of some dying out harmless reptiles to raise the awareness of the reptile you pick . I think it would be beneficial to the reptile and good for people to learn about endangered reptiles , students like myself would like to learn about endangered reptiles . There are cons to like you have o prepare the green house to have plants and make sure that it dose not grow under the building as the plants or trees grow. Another con is the ecosystem needs to be took care of and needs to stay heath. ( if you see this i spent about 30 minutes in the night time making this so please think about my idea )
I’ve been binging all the updates up to present day 2022 and you guys have done so so much! It’s been so fun to watch all your plans come to fruition. Emily’s optimism, creativity and excitement and Ed’s support , sense of humor and production skills are the perfect combo for something like this. They remind me of the Irwin’s. The passion, conservation, and ethics of you both are so admirable. The renovation videos, and the herping videos remind me of the golden age of like TLC or the Discovery Channel educational videos and home decor/diy shows. Keep up the amazing work, and make sure not to burn yourselves out❤
I really hope y’all are gonna be charging for the general public to enter. Even just a $5 admission fee would greatly help with all the costs of upkeep, etc! 🙂
Alyssa Faith what about the people who really wanna learn but are poor and can’t afford to pay the $5 not really fair. Especially if school kids have to pay
@@m.k.mcguire i dont think people that are interested in reptile will not be able to afford a mere 5 bucks.. Reptiles are expensive lmaooo.. And kids will not come there alone..its wether with thier parents or the school teacher.. Lets be reasonable yeah?
oOoMirren if you are poor you’re probably not worried about learning about reptiles. Also schools could pay it as part of their field trip budget. Maybe even get a discount since they’re buying loads of tickets or whatever. :)
Omg, it's crazy how much it has changed. When I first saw this, I couldn't really visualize what it would be and the layout, but now that it's pretty much finished, I can't believe how amazing it is. Can't wait to go!
Omg i would move from FL to work with you guys like seriously i will write a whole new resume for this! Im a former Vet Tech (with a degree) and i volunteered at my local zoo for over 6 years and owned herps of my own!
If you could set it up to be humid enough, you could do amphibians that need the same amount of humidity in very, very ventilated enclosures surrounded by plants! It'd probably be a lot of work, but it would be neat.
Just watched the grand opening (10/08/2021) and it’s amazing to see how far y’all have come! Now don’t mind me while I watch the entire facility update playlist! 💜💜
The greenhouse could be a really good place to grow plants for vivariums! On top of that, you could have wild local reptiles hanging around the area to eat the pests!
As cool as this sounds at first.... having wild reptiles around would increase the risk of their reptiles contracting a disease, mites, etc. It seems like a big risk for little reward. But it would be great otherwise :)
You should heat the greenhouse so you can have reptiles in there all year and make it a turtle section of the zoo! You could have tortoises on the ground walking at your guests feet. Have a path for people to walk down and little fences to keep the tortoises out of the paths. And then you can add a little elevated pond for turtles! 🐢 my other idea was patching it up and making it so reptiles can't get out at all and then heating it and basically creating a rainforest. Put in tropical plants and let the reptiles climb all around and have little feeding stations where they can be fed and basically live like they are in the wild. I would take the cement floor out and make it soil. Be sure to have something under the soil (a couple feet down) so the reptiles can't dig their way out. This would be awesome! I walked through something like this before and thought it was so cool! It would be a project but darn would it be cool!
Remember when we got really nervous whenever Emily picked up a letter opener? Somehow the image of her sprinting past with a sledgehammer seems equally concerning.
Use the greenhouse for parrots conservation and education. You have first-hand experience on what happens to some parrots of the in the exotic bird trade.
This is less than a mile away from my home. I actually saw Emily and Ed drive away from the building, but I thought they were at the animal clinic. I can walk/bike there!
i was thinking... so many blank walls could be an open canvas to an artist! My dad and i love making murals, many youtubers would prbly love to do some cool murals/spray paint/graffiti style type stuff.
I am so proud of you. And speechless 🤯😮I am crying happy tears for you and so supportive and exited. Sadly I live in England so I can't go but will still support you twice as much and share the news ❤❤💚
Maybe you should save the greenhouse for a reptile like cafe or some place for the people to sit! and then put reptile food and water on one side of the room so it's like a reptile and human cafe!?
Emily:Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us make our dreams come true! Me:has inspired gleam in eyes and is truly touched My brother:looking at me suspiciously
I am speechless. Congratulations guys. What an incredibly smart, brave and altruistic investment. I love your mission of teaching knowledge, understanding and compassion for reptiles and empowering youths to experience things hands on! This is gonna be so huge for you guys. Personally I would be super interested in updates as the building comes along. But seriously congrats and all the best to you guys as you undertake this journey. It won't be easy but I can't imagine it won't be well worth it!
What if you made the greenhouse a giant vivarium area where your bird could stay? Live plants and a happy bird would be a neat addition for guests to enjoy. Shyans own little jungle.
Dude i have this petting zoo in the mall that does this thing where you buy a token, and this allows you to feed the animals there And there's one room that's just full of birds, and you sit on a bench and let them eat off of you its so cool
Dude that would be great! Mabey get a couple of tropical lizards (ohh mabey try to get draco flying lizards) And get like redfoot/Cherriehead tortoises for the bottom it and have a path through the middle it would be sooooo dope.
Wow thank you everyone for the likes! I like the idea of adding other animals but I have a few concerns. While shyan is large, will probably stay off the ground, and stands out other animals may not. You have to be careful about what animals you have in this area to make sure everyone stays safe. Many animals can be territorial, may be at risk for being stepped on, or may suffer unnecessary stress from this type of space. While it would be nice to see different species in this area all getting along it comes with many risks. Many zoo's and attractions that set up spaces such as this typically stick to using birds, turtles, tortoises, and fish as they can be easily restricted to safe areas with small walls and the birds tend to stay off the ground or out of the way. Feeding the animals could be a nice treat for those who want to however it would have to be heavily monitored to maintain the animals proper diet and avoid overweight pets.
Greenhouses don't have that shape in the US?? As a swedish person I was like oh that's a really nice plant nursery! It's always good to have a way to open the ceiling so you can let some of the summer heat out
@@Praxidike100 yes I know that. What I was commenting on was the mention that the design of the greenhouse was originally swedish and appeared novel to them. Not that it existed at all
She could have meant how the greenhouse is against the building. As far as I know (at least where I live) every commercial greenhouse has the vents on top!
re-watching this series (because i need more snake discovery) and it is crazy to see how far you have come! this was my favorite series to look forward too during the pandemic.

I can't comprehend how this is 3 years old all ready. I have been watching you guys since you had about 10k. I remember getting home from a trip and watching this when it was uploaded. Before re watching I remember saying to myself when i was 15 "this is going to look amazing when it is done". and it did turn out amazing!
I cried, this is just such amazing news, I've been wondering what about what you have been doing and I've been here for so long and this is just fantastic news! Even if I don't live in the US, witch is sad for me, but when the project will be finished then I will try to come and see the reptiles/snakes. This channel brings me so much joy with every upload and I think this is a BIG step up! It's just making me cry even thinking about this place being set-up.
Congratulations!!! I'm soo happy for you guys. This is a great addition for you and all your animals. You have worked soo hard and definatly deserve it. I can't wait to see the renovations done and ready for business. I hope to oneday come and see it myself. Love the channel 🐍🐊🐟🐢 😎
You can turn the greenhouse into a picnic area! Maybe add a few tanks around the outskirts of the greenhouse, and picnic tables in the middle. So people have a place to stop and eat
huge, but, depending where you live, possibly not as much as one thinks? but still a huge amount. cost of living varies wildly in the us (not trying to preach, just dk where youre from!)
So proud of you guys. Im really not into snakes but how you two introduced all this information and clips of the snakes really showed the love and passion on what you do. I hope you succeed more in what you do 😊
The greenhouse could be a giant rex enclousure! You could walk in, do live feedings, learn about a major animal that live around you, there would be so much potential and it would look epic!
YES! My dad lives in Minnesota and I live with my mom in Kansas. So when I visit him every time I can go and see you guys and the reptiles. I'm so excited. Congratulations!!!
here when it's already opened, you guys have done so good with it! I remember the day this was posted.. feels so weird to have watched the transformation
Congratulations guys I'm sure your business will help teach many people about these misunderstood animals and get many people interested in them! I cant wait to see what you do to the place!
I would love for you guys to VLOG all of this maybe in a separate channel only..... but, I’m curious to hear the good, bad, && the ugly of buying a bldg., removing all items to empty it and then the stArt of decorating the place && making sure all your ANIMALS are happy, safe, healthy!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Love this idea! Shane Dawson proved people want to know all the ins and outs to running a business, and Off the Ranch is doing the renovation mansion that's hit trending multiple times. People would definitely watch this
I like it on this channel. They are building enclosures for reptiles, dealing with all of the stuff that is involved in taking proper care of reptiles, as well as the best things to feed them, etc. Shane did the whole thing on his only channel. Why do it on a separate channel?
A big open rainforest would be awesome for the greenhouse! Just imagine having animals running free (for the most part) and butterflies fluttering about. It can be done, an example is my old workplace Universeum in Gothenburg, Sweden. They have a huge open indoor rainforest!

Oh yeah, they are making a retail area.
Turning the greenhouse into a butterfly house would be amazing, and then down the track when you're ready to do something bigger with reptiles out there you could convert it.

( if you see this i spent about 30 minutes in the night time making this so please think about my idea )
omg thank you i have never had anyone see my comment
How about having some amphibians?
I’ve been binging all the updates up to present day 2022 and you guys have done so so much! It’s been so fun to watch all your plans come to fruition. If you could set it up to be humid enough, you could do amphibians that need the same amount of humidity in very, very ventilated enclosures surrounded by plants! It'd probably be a lot of work, but it would be neat.

@@AshendrisSilvermist oof yea i didnt think about that
@@generalkudzu8362 Yeah that's not exactly the best idea. Or else people would actually be doing that who have plants and reptiles.
Using that greenhouse to make a little "rainforest" habitat for the reptiles that need such environment.
Exploring Creation they could even put a fence or something to cut off a section for Rex
@@bennastephens6534 they could!
but heating the whole greenhouse would be difficult and expensive

What if you made the greenhouse a giant vivarium area where your bird could stay? Live plants and a happy bird would be a neat addition for guests to enjoy. Shyans own little jungle.
you could do it like a rainforest with birds, reptiles and possible mammals(agoutis)
Dude i have this petting zoo in the mall that does this thing where you buy a token, and this allows you to feed the animals there
And there's one room that's just full of birds, and you sit on a bench and let them eat off of you its so cool
I love that idea

Originally a greenhouse. Pretty standard design here, too.
Greenhouses are that shape here. I'm sure she meant the materials or ventilation.
