Love this shoes too and my racer of 2022. PR'd in Chicago with these. So light and very fast. Love my Speed 3 too and my shoe of 2022. This is Saucony's year and they are killing it!
Agree with you, I really like the EP3. I haven't done any races in it longer than 10k yet, but I set a really solid 10k PB in it. I'm running a road marathon in April and also like you wondering if my ankles are strong enough to keep it controlled over the longer distances - I hope so, but I'm a bit cautious of that aspect.
@@John_Wood_ For a quick bit of background on me, I've had a lower tibia bone stress injury in the past, so I'm a bit sensitive around the ankle & lower shin area. For my day to day running I prefer shoes that are on the firmer side of things. But I know I can definitely ran faster on race day in something like the EP3, but the big stack, soft & highly responsive foams do change my running mechanics a bit, and I experience that with feeling the effort in my ankles. Over a shorter distance I can tolerate it, but I'm not sure I could tolerate it over a full marathon. I've been trying to run more and more in the EP3 and my tolerance is improve and also doing lots of single leg strength training to help with this, but even still there are limits to what I can change.
Game changers for me. Know loads of people switching from Nike to Saucony now. Mostly based on cushioning and comfort level. Blistering is common in vapourflys and this should be a sign to people that they clearly need better cushion/fit
Hi Matt hey i generally wear stability shoes like kayano and adrenaline but do use some neutral shoes for shorter stuff... Would it be ok as a mild pronator to use there for a little bit and then on a 10k park run ? If it goes well then i will possibly do a half marathon in them but i can get a great price on some and was thinking to give them a go but yeah most of my training in the kayano ... Was considering these or the asics superblast
Finally, I've received mine. I tried them and as always do, I've worn them for an hour, at home. Well, I don't know why, but after that amount of time, I've started to feel a bit of discomfort/rubbing under my midfoot (I'm a pronator). After a bit of tests (I've just published a video in my channel), I found the solution. Please, feel free to watch it. My question is: Is there any other pronator who had the same experience?
You spoke of the adios pro 3. how’s the fit of that compare to the endorphin pro three which works well for me, but I usually can’t fit into Adidas at all with a wider foot. I tried to Takumi sen 8 and that did not work at all for me as far as shoe fit?
Hi Matt, I love Saucony’s line up; I love the Pro 3, Speed 3, and the Shift 3. I have to disagree with the assertion that the foam is the same though; the Speed 2 and the Speed 3 are the exact same stack, so stack height doesn’t explain the newfound bounce or softness. The Pro 2 and Speed 2 feel similar and the Pro 3 and Speed 3 feel similar, but the Pro 2/Speed 2 do not feel similar to the Pro 3/Speed 3. And it isn’t just the standing/running feel; the touch feel (fingers) and sound of touching the midsole is different too. Whatever they changed, it has affected the Speed 3 as well; in my opinion, for the better of both shoes. Really looking forward to your review of the Endorphin Elite; that shoe will be too fast for me, but I love the mid foot wrap around the underside of the foot. Look at the Fizik Vento Stabilita Carbon and see how similar the concept is; it works really well for lock in :) www.fizik.com/us_en/vento-stabilita-carbon.html
Karl, I completely agree with you! We asked Saucony and they repeatedly said the foam is the same, But I agree with you. I don't know if changing the stack height made the difference, but things are different. Have not received the Endorphin Elite yet but will get thoughts out asap!
I just set my 13.1 PR in this shoe! I love how bouncy and fast it feels. However, I agree that you lose a little stability on the longer distances, and sadly I’ve had problems with the toebox being too narrow. Anybody else had this problem? if I lace them slightly too tight, I end up with a bloody toe and if I leave the toebox too loose, I end up with a bruised toenail as they slam the front of the shoe.
You said it is best for 5k to half marathon. Do you think it is not as good as Next% or the ASICS meta speed for full marathon. Just like to have your opinion. Thank you
That is a great question! I think it will depend on the person. I personally do not do well with the Next%, so I am concerned I may give you a biased answer/opinion. In terms of specs and performance, I think it is as good as both shoes. For me, both the Endorphin Pro 3 and Vaporfly are better than the next Metaspeed + series. But comparing to the original meta speed Sky, then I would say the Endorphin Pro 3 and Metaspeed Sky outrank the next%
@@matthewklein1989 Thank you. I am wearing the Next% and Next % + in all my races from 5k to full marathon since 2019. I just broke my 5K PB on last Sunday with the Endorphin Pro3. will try the Pro3 in Osaka Marathon in next Month.
I still feel like the Endorphin Pro 2 is more stable than the Pro 3. I've done two in Pro 2, and ran a fast half in Pro 3, but still looking for more stability at that 7:30-7:45 pace pass 18 miles.
I don’t know if it’s just because I’ve got a big shoe (size 14) but I find the plate in these way stiffer than the alphafly for example and I don’t seem to get the same snap. Might be all in my head but it just doesn’t feel as fast as the alphafly to me 🤔
is the pro 3 a bit bouncier and faster than the speed 3? I currently have the speed 3 and to be honest I find it very good, fast, comfortable and light. For Christmas I'm going to get the Pro 3 and I'm excited to see if it's even faster thanks for the review
I have both shoes; I set my half marathon PR this year in the Endorphin Pro V1 in the spring, and couldn’t walk for 2-3 days. I then set back to back PRs with the Endorphin Pro 3, and recovery was much better both times. I bought the Pro V1 for track workouts, and it excels there; especially for speed repeats at 1 mile pace or faster. The Speed 3 is also a good track shoe, and a great tempo shoe; my favourite all round shoe this year. The Pro 3 has a lighter upper, that is very stiff; in a good way. The Speed 3 is stretchy, and the Pro 3 feels more locked in once you tighten it. The Speed 3 is more stable, and long runs don’t hurt the tibialis posterior tendon (inside ankle tendon) nearly as much if your mechanics tend to over pronate. But the Pro 3 is fast; the carbon plate encourages speed, and I have found it easier to maintain my goal pace in the shoe than with other shoes. I wouldn’t say the Pro 3 is noticeably bouncier; although it is, not even noticeably faster; although it is also. The Pro 3 is a faster shoe and it feels faster, but it will be marginal over the Speed 3 because the Speed 3 is a very very good all round shoe that excels in so many areas. The Pro 3 is slightly lighter, slightly bouncier, and slightly faster, and it will reward you if you push the shoe. Enough to PB consistently if your PB is in the Speed 3 or Speed/Pro 2.
Endorphin Pro 3 is good but sadly I think I'm faster and feel better support in On Cloudmonsters. And noticeable wear on the Endorphin Pro 3 after just two practice runs. Think I will be going with the Cloudmonsters for my first half marathon.
Love this shoe… I own the Alpha and Vapor but I always go to my Endorphin Pro 3’s…. Saucony killed it this year with their lineup
They really did. Hoping the Endorphin Elite and the rest of their new line follows that trend for 2023.
That’s really interesting. Would you say they’re better than VF and AF for 5-10k racing?
My personal shoe of the year 2022 Saucony Endorphin Pro 3. So versatile, it's a one-shoe rotation from easy to marathon

I’ve used mine for 10K, Half and Marathon and got a PB in all of them (go me!) - great in Marathon, no problem but ruled in the Half.
I had that suspicion based on training. Glad to hear!

My shoe of the year is adios pro 3 because of its lower drop. Maybe I will try endorphin edge which is also lower drop.
Adios Pro 3 was my half to full marathon shoe of the year, Endorphin Pro 3 was the 5k up to half marathon. Edge is solid!
Way better stability than the Vapor or Alpha Fly. I have them and I love it!
Is this still your racing shoe of choice? (Marathon) I just want something light and stable.

Help.. Tempus to narrow for me.. Adios Pro3 or Endorphin Pro 3? Speed 3 fits me great but is a bit to unstable / soft for me..
I would go with the Adios pro 3 because it has better inherent stability with the rides and wider base than any of the other options.

It may be that your mechanics line up better with the Alphafly! That may be the better shoe for you!
i feel the same thing with stiffer carbon plate in my EP3 compared with Metaspeed Edge Plus, i can’t feel “rocking” sensation from carbon plate in EP3
Does the shoe fit big or small/ if you get your regular size?
Fits true to size for me and a little snug up front.
