I have a big heavy BMW GS and I'm from Montana so I'm the perfect person to get triggered by your video haha! Big adv bikes are capable of terrain beyond flat dirt roads, and Montana is very much not full of flat dirt roads:) Anyway, nice vid. Good to see regular riders facing and overcoming challenges like the rest of us. I lived in Globe when I was a tiny kid so it's cool to see these backroads.
Almost 60, been riding dirt since I was a kid.. you know what.. sometimes the wrong line happens..you kept your cool, regrouped and soldiered on-good job. I love your G rated commentary. Also, are you running stock gearing? A 1 tooth lower front helps a lot on these kinds of trails..
I got the KLX300 here in Utah. Honestly that road is pretty tame compared to what you can find here. So I do all these mods, but in the end I think the stock tires suck too much to leave on the bike. When you talk about the adventure bikes-- You're actually right despite what some people say. The proof is the show "The Long Way Around". Obi Wan broke his BMW in Mongolia, got it welded, and ruined the computer (locked the brake permanently) He then bought a cheap Russian dirtbike and could not believe how much easier it was in that rugged terrain out there. That being said, a good rider on an adventure bike would totally beat you on that easy stuff. Hah.
I do not have the DB Killer. I tried it and it made little difference. I do have the spark arrestor installed. I wear ear plugs when I ride because I do not think I could listen to it be that loud for hours on end. It did make a good performance difference though. I also do not have to deal with the heat from the stock catalytic converter right next to my leg.
@@scottwelder When I ride with NO DBkiller it is too loud and I do not like it. With DB killer I would like a little bit more of sound. There are some people who drilled out the DB killer and it sounds really good and it is not to loud and no ear plugs are needed so I am thinking about drilling mine
@@raullc4044 Yea go for it, just slowly go up in hole size. I also have the MotoX carbon. So mine is a little different that the standard stainless one but I don't imagine it makes a huge difference.

Yes, I am running stock gearing. Thank you for the advice and for watching. I will look into this.

I love your videos with 300 Rally. I can see you have MotoX exhaust in your bike. Do you have baffle / DB killer in? Have you drilled the Db killer?
