I actually want to talk a little bit about Isidro here because I think his reaction is a little more reasonable and deeper than people say, at least from his perspective. This is gonna be long so read the tl;dr If you’d like. People always talk about how easy Isidro’s life has been in comparison to the rest of the party and I’ve never understood this. Yeah he’s far more upbeat than the rest but let’s not forget that Isidro was a homeless child in the middle of berserks bleakest time period. In real life, being homeless is among the most difficult circumstances anyone can find themselves in. Going to sleep every night cold and starving, not knowing if you’ll wake up to someone trying to piss on you or rob you or worse, not having anywhere to belong or anyone who wants you, being treated like more of a rat than a human. I have friends who’d lived on the streets of Dublin for more than 5 years and the way they describe their experiences is genuinely horrifying. I can’t even imagine what it would be like for a child to experience that, and that’s just our world. Now look at Berserks. Isidro’s dealt with people trying to rob him or murder him or both on a near hourly basis. The first time we meet him 3 different groups of bandits all try and the 3rd damn near succeed, and he’s so used to it that he literally poisoned his own food knowing someone would do this. He’s become completely desensitised to things full grown adults should never be forced to witness and has adapted to it. Unlike Guts, Isidro can’t fight back. Every fight he’s pulled into is a fight he’s gonna lose; because he’s a scrawny, malnourished child who was never taught how to defend himself. He’s had to claw and scrape and con and steal just to stay alive everyday. His life was bloody miserable, and the fact that he actively CHOSE that hell instead of going home to his village shows that his home life before this was probably even worse. Lost children showed us just how bleak the lives of “normal” kids are in berserks world, Isidro’s probably wasn’t any better (especially since he exhibits numerous traits that children who are neglected suffer). Another factor is that Isidro is only 14 at max. Most of the parties worst moments happened in their late teens. Compare the lives of the different members at age 14 to Isidro’s and honestly, I’d say only Guts’ and maybe Casca’s could be considered worse. If he was in any other story than berserk he’d be one of the most tragic characters in the roster; the dude literally named PAIN in naruto had pretty much the same childhood. Yeah he’s never lost anything but he’s never even had the benefit of having anything to lose to begin with. I’d rather have a loving and warm home for my childhood and lose it than suffer not having it from the beginning. The journey wasn’t a fun adventure for him, it was just that sleeping rough, not getting any sleep and constantly being hunted wasn’t new territory for him. All this to say: he didn’t have a hopeful future to look forward to. That was, until he met Guts. Some people say Guts is to Isidro what Gambino was to Guts (though obviously in a far more healthy way) but I’ve gotta disagree here again. I consider Isidro to be a reflection of what might’ve happened with Guts if the band of the hawk wasn’t lead by Griffith. Isidro is closer to the age Guts was when he first joined the hawks than when Guts was with Gambino, and Isidro had already developed his worldview and methods of survival. Before he met Guts he was a vindictive, self serving, egotistical, apathetic megalomaniac who revelled in feeling superior to everyone around him, but at the same time he was very clever and always seemed to achieve what he wanted. This only began to change when he met Guts; and despite the circumstances being just as bleak, having someone like Guts in his life to be an example really did prevent Isidro from going down a dark path. Instead he actually changed quite a lot throughout the story and he did it by emulating Guts. Guts never sat him down and talked about self betterment, but just by Guts accepting responsibility for what he’s done and being better: this kid who was either gonna die or live to become something terrible became the best version of himself. In conviction he bitterly spat into a crowd of dying people. In Fantasia he led the evacuation of elfhelm and ensured everyone got out safely, despite being treated like a joke there too. So to Isidro Guts isn’t just a friend he’d fight Zodd for (which he would); he’s literally a guideline for him to live by. So seeing Guts crumble like this is near impossible for him to comprehend, especially since Isidro himself is still reeling from losing the first person he ever loved or who ever really loved him. If even Guts is defeated here, then what chance does Isidro have at getting back up himself? At least that’s probably how he sees it. Isidro despite his presentation is a character I find to be both uplifting and kinda depressing at the same time. He reminds me of so many kids I knew growing up who dealt with horrible circumstances and were judged for being immature and obstinate when that was just the coping mechanisms they adapted to survive their poor lives, and I hate to say it but most of those kids either ran away or got sent to social services and aged out of it or died. I like to think that the ones I never heard from again were like Isidro, and struggled against the way the world saw them and became the best versions of themselves with better people in their lives with them, but If I’m being real, they all probably wound up the same way. Seeing him so upset at Guts makes perfect sense even if you do kinda want to punch him for it, but I guess that Kushan soldier had us covered there. Tl;dr Isidro’s life was fucking bleak as shit until Guts came along, and by emulating Guts Isidro became a far better and healthier person. Guts is everything Isidro believes he should be, so seeing Guts like this is a sign that everything they’ve all been though and everything he’s done since meeting him has been hopeless.
Fun fact about Durga: although she was primarily a goddess of protection and warfare, she had another aspect that would occasionally emerge named Kali who was a goddess of wanton violence and destruction. She would slaughter people by the millions, guzzle their blood, and her frantic dancing could end the world if not stopped. This leaves some pretty ominous implications of what could happen if the beast of darkness takes over completely.
also according to the story, Kali was stopped when Shiva laid on the ground near her so that she would accidentally step on him. Since laying her foot on her husband was considered sacrilege, Kali's rampage completely ground to a halt as she realized what she'd done with great shame. It reminds me a lot of the scene early on in the Millenium Falcon arc, when Guts almost loses it on Casca to the Beast of Darkness. Perhaps Guts will learn how to use his rage for the better, and become less like Kali and more like Durga.
I’m glad the series will go on for another 10 years. Normally I don’t consume media after the lead creative dies, but Berserk is an exception. If I can’t finish the series my Father started with me all those years ago, then my Son will finish our legacy with Mr. Miura Kentaro.
In your 30’s when this wraps up… yeah I hear ya. I’ll be stepping into my 50’s. Very weird to think about. Conversely, I like being alive, so it’s nice to have things to look forward to.
Seeing Puck come to major role in the story would make me really happy. As much as I enjoyed him and Isidro’s banter, he has seen some of the worst moments in Guts’ life, even aware of what happened in the eclipse and how much he truly hates Griffith. Puck stepping up and even being apart of the healing process would be fantastic.
Damn we have a whole 10 years left of Berserk?? The way the series is going I thought it would end in atleast 2-3 years but 10?! That means there’s even more things to uncover. Like A LOT more
So I finally sat down and watched your 21-hour video regarding Berserk. Fantastic stuff and easily the best coverage of Berserk I've seen on this site. But in truth, I find myself interested in the goals of Griffith and Void and who is playing who. Watching through your retrospective and reading through Berserk again, has really made me consider things about the narrative and about Griffith. Here is the thing. I don't think Griffith can kill Guts. It isn't just because I am not convinced that Griffith is gone - actually, part of the interesting aspect of Griffith is that there are three people within his body - himself, Femto, and the Moonlight child. I find this all ties back into the Egg of the New World and how its variables and choices, might have thrown a little bit of wrench into the Godhand's plans. Looking over everything, I think it is safe to say that history was repeating itself with all of humanity being shepherded to Falconia for one massive offering, just as it was in the past. Why? Perhaps to manifest the Idea of Evil into an actual form, rather than just an abstract existence. But I wonder if Griffith is playing the Godhand - using them to further his own objectives. After all, the Idea of Evil told him to do what he wanted, even pointing out that Griffith could use his powers to bring suffering or salvation - it really was up to him. So what if... what if Griffith wanted to become something else. What if Griffith wanted to become the Ideal of Good? It's stuff like this that makes me love Berserk, it's something that really is special.
just finished all your berserk videos from the very begining up to this on and theres 2 things i want to say: first of all, great work! your recaps are entertaining and very descriptive. i literally binged everything in the last 2 days lol so thank you fo all your work. its a really grat way to catch up on the series. secondly, i had no idea these "chapters" were so damn short??? like watching all your multiple hr long videos really spoiled me lol. this feels like it would have been 5 pages to flip through!😂 i hate that now ill have to wait like everyone else to see what happens next after watching 20+years worth of content in 2 days but i can say without a doubt ill be coming bac to you exclusively for my updates on the series. thanks again for your work and i cant wait for the next one 😊
It’s sad to see how everyone is looking at Guts now. It’s a look of sadness and pity. Sort of. They feel for the guy, but don’t know what to do. Isidro losing faith in Guts was hard to see, too. I can’t wait until we see new chapters.

Y'know, as much as I hate how long it takes for the chapters, I'll admit it, I'm actually okay with more Berserk over the course of ten years. Any day over those years, and I can appreciate some chapters as the years go by.
God damn you're still the best Berserk manga storyteller out of any of the other bigger channels out there, picking up on subtle details and lore others either (1) don't mention or (2) don't notice. I'm a big fan of world religions and spiritual references (and their interconnected through-lines between those religions); Miura, Mori, and Gaga *really* know how to tie things in beautifully that we can all relate to on a deep level in regards to those previously-mentioned things, and *I'm glad you pick up on them too!*
How soon Intel you drop chapter 376 I'm so excited.your videos specifically why I got into this master piece known as berserk thank you for real You've helped me get through some hard times keep doing you peace and positive vibes
Gosh Isidro reaction is my favorite part about this chapter. From the start, kid always admire Guts. Not just his strenth but how he’d carried himself. Seeing him like this must be terrifying and depressing
Isidro was always a great character with a constant character arc like In his introduction Saving casca against the cult In the troll segment Helping the villagers and fighting whilst developing fighting style In the boat arc Forming new bonds saving schierke and practicing his fighting style through the pirate People just always thought berserk was a dark grim story
Leaving another comment to help it reach people's feeds. Yeah, this chapter was great. Some pointed out they nerfed Salut's pecks but honestly the art is on point. It is also crazy just HOW LONG it has been since Rickert got to speak with Guts, even if the man himself seems to have completely surrendered himself. I do wonder though, how the Dragon Slayer will play into this arc as will the beast of darkness. I just hope they can snap Guts out of this rut and get back on his feet. Friend of mine completely stopped reading Berserk after Kentaro's passing and I tried to convince him but he wouldn't. However, hearing new information that all of this was based off of his notes really gives me faith that they'll do it justice. I just hope they will be able to complete it.
kinda frustrating to come to terms with the fact that i need to wait months for new chapters now. just a moment ago i could go on with my own pace (basically just loosing sleep so i could catch up all the way from the beginning) and now i have to accept that not every upcoming chapter is going to be interesting until its all wrapped in a volume sooner or later.
I think just like Farnesse and Shrike helping to bring Casca back, Puck and Rickert will be the ones to bring him back from the edge and get him back to fighting form
The Art has definitely gotten a lot more focused and better thought out🤔 Before it wasn’t exactly at OG standards But your right loli it’s definitely gotten better. But it’s definitely not like before But that’s not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination! It’s a very slight difference in style but the team is definitely getting their own feel for it now.
this is always nice to see and I am torn... I have now almost all of the deluxe hardcovers the last one releasing next week and they are awesome... but I don't know if they will keep doing them for the post Miura chapters... still I am glad and yes buying berserk merch is important.
I really love the building at the Kushan capital. It greatly resembles the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey. The Kushans kinda feel like an amalgamation of Indian, Arabian, and Turkish culture.
That I noticed, which is also odd since the Hagia Sophia is mostly a Greek/Byzantine architecture, the minarets were a Turkish addition (it made it look better ngl). Can be a reason it adds the the multicultural nature of the Kushans being this one enormous empire (well at least before the so called Hawk of Light ofc).
@@applesandgrapesfordinner4626 and the thing those three countries have in common are their majority Muslim population (but in India's case, just a really large Muslim population). It makes me wonder if Studio Gaga will incorporate more Islamic elements in the Kushan Empire.
8:37 It’s good that Puck gets to be relevant again. I think my favorite act of his was at the end of Conviction, when Guts is slicing through the Kushans on horseback with Casca, and Puck is holding the reigns of the horse. It’s a great panel.
I am a hindu so many people just writing incomplete stuff here, Durga, Kali, Both of them is the manifestation of Mother Parvati, the wife of Shiva. So berserk armour resembles to kali, she is a scary, violent and she wears necklace made up of skulls and in one of her arms there's a skull which she uses to drink the blood of the demons. She's awaken to fight the demons and not even shiva or vishnu can control her by fighting her, every god try to awaken Mother Parvati of her demonic form ( party try to awaken guts and tell him he is human and not some monster ) Even the gods get scared of kali because her anger can destroy the entire world, Yupp she's that much powerful. Rip Griffith 😂
9:50 Honestly, I can't fault Berserk fans who want to end it at 364. It's still a fairly decent wrap up. The party is safe in Elfhelm, Casca's back. Granted, she isn't able to look at Guts without loosing her shit, but that's something they can work through. Hell, she actually managed to talk to him from the other side of a tree. Griffith is king of Falconia, which sucks, but he's completely misirable. Unable to have what he sleeps of having, and only yerning for it as he wakes up. Rikert is off to the Kushan empire to be a badass too. It does work in a way. That said, I wanna see this end for real and so far the hype train has been going full steam ahead.
Yeah, it's a perfect thematic endpoint for the series. A lot of questions are left standing, but it's peaceful and draws a stalemate between Guts and Griffith for the first time (until the next chapter changes the tide). Griffith shedding his first tear since the Eclipse as the final page is the greatest callback and conclusion that the series could've gotten. It'll be hard to top in the real finale without feeling like it's pandering, honestly.
Stop giving those sh*theads who want Berserk to end some justification. They are mainly tourists and not even worth the time to waste energy about. Berserk is still great and one day it will end on a high note and conclude the entire saga.
I was surprised to see Guts this broken, but i think Miura idea was to put Guts between the wall and the sworddd with staying a human, or becoming something else with the berserk armour "spirit"? But im gonna predict Guts already is somewhat supernatural, since he was born from a corpse.
Just so you know we’re still in the Fantasia Arc. The Elf Island Chapter ended, and now we’re in the Eastern Exile Chapter. It’s not the Eastern Exile Arc.
Personally recommend people actually go read Kouji Mori's own work. A lot of his work screams, "Talented Highschool Sophomore" but I don't actually hate it.
It just gets me that Griffith is still being a prick to Guts and Casca when he has literally everything he has ever wanted. It will blow up in his face like when he slept with the Princess.

Can you imagine if Isidro actually activates Guts behelit? What if the monkey boy really was destined to sacrifice everyone.

But fr, Isidro is underappreciated and I'm glad someone brought this up.
Curious when guts is going to fully go "berserk", he's more vulnerable than ever right now

I’m glad the series will go on for another 10 years. Normally I don’t consume media after the lead creative dies, but Berserk is an exception. If I can’t finish the series my Father started with me all those years ago, then my Son will finish our legacy with Mr. Miura Kentaro.
This is based man, you're teaching him how to win in the struggle of life!
Miura would want us to see it to the end. Even if it takes 10 years.
In your 30’s when this wraps up… yeah I hear ya. I’ll be stepping into my 50’s.
Very weird to think about.
Conversely, I like being alive, so it’s nice to have things to look forward to.
This 10 year journey will be soo worth it. I hope everybody will have a wonderful trip.
I love how the art is getting better with every chapter
Just like Miura when he switched to digital, it took a while to get used to but they're starting to find their groove.

WOO YEAH!!!! OLD PUCK!!!!!
godamn you're 25 old man
Seeing Puck come to major role in the story would make me really happy.
Like A LOT more
@LewisKillarindeed😊
Hey I was cool with Tolkiens son taking over with his dads notes, so I certainly don’t mind this continuation either 👌

just finished all your berserk videos from the very begining up to this on and theres 2 things i want to say:
first of all, great work! your recaps are entertaining and very descriptive. i literally binged everything in the last 2 days lol so thank you fo all your work. its a really grat way to catch up on the series.
secondly, i had no idea these "chapters" were so damn short??? like watching all your multiple hr long videos really spoiled me lol. this feels like it would have been 5 pages to flip through!😂 i hate that now ill have to wait like everyone else to see what happens next after watching 20+years worth of content in 2 days but i can say without a doubt ill be coming bac to you exclusively for my updates on the series.
thanks again for your work and i cant wait for the next one 😊
Every chapter is a few pages like 10-15
It’s sad to see how everyone is looking at Guts now. It’s a look of sadness and pity. Sort of. They feel for the guy, but don’t know what to do. Isidro losing faith in Guts was hard to see, too. I can’t wait until we see new chapters.
As a fan of Kaneki as well as Guts, I’m kinda used to supporting a pitiful MC lmao. I’m sure Guts will find his way out of the darkness eventually.

Let's face it, we all gonna ask Miura directly what the end of Berserk is before we see it on paper, on this schedule.
Nice touch using the Guanter O’Dimm theme in the background

Gosh Isidro reaction is my favorite part about this chapter. From the start, kid always admire Guts. Not just his strenth but how he’d carried himself. Seeing him like this must be terrifying and depressing
Isidro was always a great character with a constant character arc like
In his introduction
Saving casca against the cult
In the troll segment
Helping the villagers and fighting whilst developing fighting style
In the boat arc
Forming new bonds saving schierke and practicing his fighting style through the pirate
People just always thought berserk was a dark grim story
Dude I’ve been reading Berserk since 01 and I’m now 36. Don’t give up the hope.

Yes the only narration of berserk that I watch 🔥

I think it was last month or month before last, Berserk Vol 1 HC was #14 on a sales chart. Crazy but well deserved.

It’s good that Puck gets to be relevant again. I think my favorite act of his was at the end of Conviction, when Guts is slicing through the Kushans on horseback with Casca, and Puck is holding the reigns of the horse. It’s a great panel.

I been waiting for another berserk breakdown
Daib will have a redemption arc after what he has done for many years with his kushan demon army.
Babe wake up another berserk chapter dropped
Beast of Darkness really likes edging Guts
ITS BERSERK TIME !!!!
the art style is slowly resembling Miura's art style.
I was surprised to see Guts this broken, but i think Miura idea was to put Guts between the wall and the sworddd with staying a human, or becoming something else with the berserk armour "spirit"?
But im gonna predict Guts already is somewhat supernatural, since he was born from a corpse.
Isidro might find out from Rickert that Guts was the 100 Man Slayer.
I'll be expecting another full series rundown in 10 years.
Just so you know we’re still in the Fantasia Arc. The Elf Island Chapter ended, and now we’re in the Eastern Exile Chapter. It’s not the Eastern Exile Arc.
