So dope man, this guy absolutely killed it as Leon. I can’t even imagine how it feels growing up with the franchise and then being the lead character for the best game in the entire series.
Resident Evil 1 might be considered the best, considering how it completely
changed the survival horror and how it changed the gaming scene forever.

Ah, for me the "Chew on that..." line just nails it for as the "Beginning of Leon" as we know him. ^^

I loved the part after running from tyrant and he's like "gotta keep going" sums up leon perfectly. All of his one liners were awesome

I'm gonna tell ya Nick, you're not just part of the RE family, you ARE Leon Kennedy. As far as I'm concerned, RE2make is now THE definitive Resident Evil experience and you are THE definitive iteration of Leon Kennedy. Capcom and all involved hit this one out the park!! Bravo
Amazing job on playing Leon. My favorite part was when you confronted Ada while the lab was collapsing, you really nailed that part and made the scene very powerful.
His voice in that scene was 100% spot on. He made it.
@@eternalpublic5783 That's the start of Leon evolving into the Leon we see in RE4. When he stops being so naive. When he becomes jaded and cooler (as in distant, not just being awesome). He trusted Ada and started to become so deeply attached to her, that when the doubt that was put in him in the cable car from that sudden kiss and her contradicting herself was realized and true, it killed him inside. He's got a hint of righteous anger. But he doesn't want to hurt her or see her hurt. His anger quickly turns into concern as soon as she's in grave danger. Leon is such a complex, wonderful character in this.
Nick, never let anyone tell you different when I say this. You made a DAMN good Leon for RE2 REmake! Please continue doing good work such as this in future voice acting!

It's not very often you hear an actor talk as themselves and with so much passion for a role. I think the only other person I've heard speak so passionately about geek stuff is Mila Cunis. God, I love geeks.

I love this podcast, Nick comes across as a humble guy, who won the lottery by getting to appear in his dream game and voice his dream role. I would love to see him come back for Leon in an RE4 remake or even a future Resident Evil game. My personal favorite scene of Leon's story is when he confronts Ada in the NEST, it was one of the many highlights of Leon's story (as well as the scene with Kendo)

RE2 Original was the first game I ever beat. I was eight years old. My brother and cousin had me play it because they thought I would be scared and stop playing and basically wanted a laugh. Fortunately, despite being scared out of my mind, I fell in love with it and the feeling of fear itself. Consequently, horror is my favorite genre and RE my favorite franchise. Seems like Nick here is very much in the same boat.
Playing the REmake 2 was just fucking incredible for me. It was literally everything I could have asked for.

It took this interview for me to realise that there was a voice actor for the new Leon as his performance was so flawless. Absolutely excellent in the remake. Couldn't have chosen a better voice actor.

He seems like a chilled out dude just like you and I. What I enjoyed about his performance was that he made Leon sound and act believable compared to his older selves in 4 and 6. We’ve all been used to 4 and 6 and the CGI films that it’s refreshing to go back to how he was.
I immediately picked up on Nick's east coast accent when Leon pronounced "horrorible" "hah-rah-ble". Lol

I'm on my 4th playthrough now. Love the voice acting and music in this game. This was the first game that actually scared me in a long time!
His voice, Mr. X, and the face model of Leon are the top 3 attractions of RE2R success. I didn't think Capcom could do it after constant disappointments, but they did it, and he did it!

I thought Nick absolutely nailed it. Honestly, the whole voice cast was great, as was the game.
I also think its great that they choose someone who knows the series and its lore. A lot of the actors don't know anything about the character they play and I think it let's them down a little.

This is what I was thinking the other day, while listening to the other interviews with the older voice actors. Most OGs are not fans of resident evil not even video game fans for that matter, few of them go as far as not having any idea of what Resident Evil is. So you are effectively listening to a regular guy/woman for whom this Resident Evil thing was just another job.
So I think that, as we get closer to our current times, our generation, new generations, new actors like Nick, we will start finding actual fans, gamers, people who actually seek for these roles and for whom this goes beyond than just another gig, but maybe even a childhood dream.
We are on a threshold, on a transition, from: "what the fuck is resident evil?", to: "Hell yeah!, huge fan, totally".
RE2 Remake was phenomenal, best RE game I've played in a long time, so much nostalgia and even my girlfriend got interested in the game franchise after playing RE2 Remake. Other day I asked her if she was interested in the old games. Currently playing through RE1 on PS1 then after that going to move to RE1 Remake and so on, and seeing her seeing the game for the first time reminds me of me over 20 years ago, it's a beautiful thing.
This was a fantastic interview guys well done! I love Leon and Nick truly nailed that character just as the other previous Leons. I hope he comes back for future games whether it be as Leon or Chris. And I would love an RE game senario about Leon and Claire taking out umbrella since we never got to see it happen. I'd even be all for an RE4 remake with Nick in the role. Re4 don't need a remake. It has been on newer consoles lately. There is no need to remake it

I would have never guessed that Nick was from Boston had I not listened to this podcast. He was the perfect voice actor for a rookie cop like Leon. I've already played through both of Leon's scenarios and never once heard his accent so great work on his part! Leon is by far my favorite character all because the first Resi game I ever played was Resi4. I was really scared of the older games when I was young so I never got around to playing them, but I'm gonna have to now! Being able to do either the motion cap or even just the voice for a Resident Evil character is the dream! Great podcast! Consider me a new sub! Love Resident Evil!
