I saw him last year in Fort Stewart, Ga when he did a free show for for the soldiers. I’ve seen hundreds of performances and he stood out as one of the best.
*It's nice to know that Chris did NOT sell his soul as most do for fame and fortune!! It takes REAL integrity to walk away from it!! He is a great artist!!!*
I went to high school with him in Baytown Texas. He mentored my then boyfriend, Robert, when they played for our team, Sterling Rangers back then. Years later, CC signed my yearbook at a concert in Bonner Springs, KS (Kansas City area) - lots of fun memories 😊
No, he didn't go independent JUST to be free. He saw the EVIL and NASTINESS of the music industry and said he would not partake in their ways. ANY star that made it big gets approached. They need to sell their soul and then the industry will assure their success BUT you also need to do "other things" (s*xual) to make it.
Lol...I have been listening to you for a while!! I ALWAYS thought you had to be from Tennessee....with your videos I sure thought you was Nashville!! BUT NOWWWW I TOTALLY understand why I hear Dueling banjos when I hear you talk lol...DERIDDER LOUISIANA explains it all lol...I am from Hathaway....lol...I love your channel!!
That’s my nursing school instructor son . So crazy to think I was taught by his mom. When I used to get in trouble she would call me to her office and I would always see his poster in her office and one day I was like hey you really like country music huh he’s a good singer & she suddenly stopped and smiled and she was like that there is my son. I was nah that’s crazy he played at the sugar festival in clewiston, fl my home town . . I told her I saw him play live and the he sang just like on his albums. From that point on forward she went easier on me and helped me passed that semester. Crazy but true story
I remember that whole fiasco with the Nashville branch of Virgin Records! Chris was one of the first artists on the label. About two or three weeks after his debut single dropped, and a few days after his album came out, the label folded, and Chris was literally in tears, as he didn’t know what to expect. Then, Capitol Nashville picked up the single and album.
Hard Rock Casino here in Tulsa gave me free concert Ticket's to see him on March 29th (2024) @ 8pm ❤ and I'm looking forward to it 🥰 ya, he's not retired 👍🏻
Very important song to me ❤. One of my favorites, especially after this: I was involved in a near fatal car wreck, and had awakened from a coma. My daughter played different songs, trying to get any reaction from me. She played that song & I kept saying “down Baker Rd, on Garth Rd” …. So a friend of mine got the idea to look up Walmart locations on his phone. My daughter gave him info where I went to high school (Baytown, TX). Lol those 2 got to work looking all of that up - the nurse in the room asked if I was talking about a particular Walmart when my daughter found the answer 😮 - she was shocked because everything I said is correct & the nurse told her ‘your momma is going to be okay because she is fighting to get back to you’. When my daughter told me this, I just cried because I remembered all of that interaction ❤. Brain injury does weird things to memory 🥹. I did go to Ross S Sterling HS with CC in the 80’s - great guy!!
Nashville my dude it is Nashville. The same thing happened with Johnny Cash. The same thing happened with Willie. Nashville keeps trying to tell you what to do doesn't allow you to be who you are.
He’s independent because “NO” record label WANTS him!!!! Just like so many of the other older artists!!!!. It’s his ONLY choice a musician… either pull up your pants and get at it or just go home and get a 9 to 5 job!!! Pretty simple logic in this business!!!☝️🤣
Is the Independent Artist gonna be a new version of the Outlaw Artist. Idk maybe I'm just wishfully thinking cause God loves country music and even He knows it's time for SOMETHING big to happen that has nothing to do with ppl bitchin' about "that person ain't country wth are they trying to get in on our thing blah blah blah" I tell ya what folks if your real country then you ain't worried about other folks taking away or taken over cause everybody knows you can't take nothin' from country folk unless they are giving it away? Sorry, right rant wrong subject oops.
I was literally asking this just the other day. Thanks for the update. Also what happened to : Chad Brock, John Michael Montgomery, Sarah Evans, James Otto and SheDaisy

Someone I haven’t heard about in a long long time is Brooks & Dunn or maybe I heard sometime ago they quit or split up can’t remember
Artistically free? Lol. He wants all the money instead of working to pay a label.
