- This is the one that tried to bite me when I was saddling her. This exercise is teaching her to control her negative behaviors.

Darnit. The Rocky/Ky Mountain folks missed it.🤣
I'm looking forward to watching Jazz progress. You will have her in shape mentally and physically in no time.
Good morning guys. Great job Tim. Thank you for video Tim and thank Tim's sister for camera work.😄
Yes. Thank you, Malinda ☺ 👋
From, another Melinda 😆
Hi Tim ☺ 👋
It's Melinda, from Australia again ☺
I just wanted to say, I can tell, how much you care about horses. By the expense, you have poured into your Ranch. The beautiful and light filled stables. That amazing, covered outdoor arena 😍 Just wanted to say that to you, before I started to watch your new video ☺ 👌 Thank you, for sharing with us all 😏
Darn guessed it wrong on her too now knowing she MFT I totally see it.
I always make a point of getting on my gelding an just having him stand still till it's my idea to go.
The gaited horse tend be much faster then the 3 gaited are. I've ridden with gaited horses an my horse has to trot fast to keep up. They really cover ground.
I dare say she a cute mare with a foal and was being hard fed with treats… she’s adorable! Thank you Tim
Man!!! I thought for sure she was a Kentucky Mountain Pony
As is, I would be scared to ride this horse. Especially as I know nothing about gaited horses. I will definitely learn a thing or two by following her progress
People need training BEFORE they get a horse.
Absolutely
I agree.
I agree, but too late for us.
@@finngamesknudson1457 Well, it’s never too late to learn. Patience and determination go a long way.
I guessed it correctly that she is a Fox Trotter, but I missed it on the Palomino gelding.
I guessed wrong. I've never been around a MFT and don't know how to tell. Of course, she's obviously gaited, but so many horses are. Can't wait for more progress videos!
I thought she was too tall for Missouri fox trotter. Never cease to amaze me hoe horses of the same breed can have a vastly different sizes they can range from.
Strong work! Hercwalk was a lot more lateral when you started.
Incredibly informative
Yes!!
Jazz is snorting!!!! Lol so cute. I love her. I can feel her through this video! I’m wondering if I could ride her, because I am busy laughing at her snorting.
I've been watching another channel with MFT'S As soon as you asked her to move a bit faster I could tell what she is. The way her head bobs. Also I can see that her back end is weekshe does need a bit of conditioning work from what I've seen from those performance MFT. She's gorgeous!! Looking forward to seeing her progress ☺️
I said MFT! Do I win a prize?? Hahaha
I am ignorant what is MFT?
Lol. Never mind. Lol
Missouri Fox Trotter
A. Cracker jack prize yes 😂
Nice mare. Reminds me of my mare a bit.
I guessed it right!
Thank you for your videos - my horse is more relaxed, and I'm a better rider, thanks to following the techniques that you demonstrate.
❤❤❤
After reading some of the comments, this "gated" horse thing seems complicated.
Hoping to get a bit more educated on the whole thing with her series.
Thanks Tim
❤️🌵☀️⛈️🌈☮️🐎🐕
I guessed Missouri Fox T.
Definitely looks of a particular gait
I am actually so surprised that I got her breed !! Maybe I am not so bad at guessing breeds 😂 it could be the fact that I like the Fox trotters tho 😂
She’s a beauty Tim! Project! Lots to do, has she been field trialed? We’re seeing a lot of those lately for sale and they have holes in training and all they know is “ go”!
I dont know much about her history.
This go go is my problem.
Looks like a fast forward image of the video that funny trot 😅
I thought the same thing!
I was gonna say!!! Hahaha Missouri fox trotters do trot funny😂
I've never ridden Missouri trotter. Are they a comfortable ride?
When she leans into your hands she almost trots like she balancing on you
Whoo hoo I actually got the breed right, not bad for a horse viewer, never owner.
Hi Tim, can you make a video on how to start training young / 4 year old horses ? Thanks !
I've actually done a few of those. I need to arrange them in a playlist to make them eaier to find.
Tim - you said we cause problems by not doing proper warm up at start of ride or cool down at end. Do you have a video that elaborates on this? If not can you?
Jazz looks like she’s already moving better than in her first video. She must have a great trainer!
Yes I did a video a month or so ago about warm up and cool down.
Thanks for the video! If I were just working on speed control and not working on using more hind end should I still use the fence for this? Or is just changing directions out in the open when the horse speeds up okay? Thanks for any help!!
Every horse that needs speed control also needs a stronger hind in. Those two always go together
@@timandersonhorsetrainingI never ever knew that so thank you for that information I had no idea
I could watch Tim for hours 😊
All those gaited horse people at trail rides take off like they at the races. As soon as their rear hits the saddle those horses are gone. First organized group trail ride of the year will be a derby she'll be all wound up because that's what those riders do.
Tim which bit are you using on Jazz?
Perhaps could be helped with natural balance barefoot trim--reducing leverage on the toe.
That will do nothing to help her mental self discipline.
Hi Tim, This horse is goin' pretty good along the fence. What if, when you go to turn her toward the fence, she braced against the bit, and pulled hard the other way? What would you do?
In that situation turning the other way is not the answer. Any time a horse gets bracy the answer is forward.. If I turner her towards the fence and she got bracy I would continue the turn but push her forward through the turn.
I have a horse that will brace hard toward the barn. You can't out muscle 1200# horse, so I let her go to the barn and then work her there back and forth until she doesn't want to go to the barn so much. But, she'll still try it, at times. She was pretty emotional and uncontrollable when I got her, with the rushing and barging, and they hadn't ridden her in 4 years because of it. She had one speed, fast, and a lot of anxiety because of abusive bit and bad riding. All in all, she's about 75% improved, which I'm thankful for. At least she knows how to walk on a loose rein now. She still gets emotional at times, especially going toward the barn, and that's when the bracing and rushing occurs. Trying to control it, only makes her worse. If I can't calm her down, I get off, and walk a bit, do a little ground work before getting back on her. I was hoping to do a little trail riding this fall, but she's not ready and now winter is upon us.
I like your videos. You use horses with real problems and show all of it. You are just a kid compared to me! I'm 79. Worked with horses for many years. Showed Arabs in halter class for friends of mine. Barrel raced, drill teams, all of that. Finally got back into horses after many years of raising a big family. Because of my age, I don't take chances the way I used to!
Thank you for honest, true to life videos..@@timandersonhorsetraining
Is Jazz for ssale?
Looks like the tolt from an Icelandic horse
I think she lacks a smooth cadence. Maybe I am seeing something that isn’t there. Her rear end seems… weak and it affects the smooth trot that should be but is not totally present. I guess I am saying her gait sucks. Her owners care about their mare otherwise they would not send her to you. How do you correct the owners so the mare doesn’t return to her previous “Fallen” state?
Do you have to alter how you shape the body and develop the gaits when working with a gaited horse?
Well kinda. It depends on what the horse has done before, if it’s fit or not and it’s age. I spent a year building up my gaited mare very carefully since her former owner did not gait her did not have saddles that fit and shod her incorrectly. So I had lots of work to do building muscle ( not to mention getting a saddle to fit ) solving ulcers from stress, then miles and miles of walking flat walk and running walk, THEN I started asking for gaits. A year and five months later the horse is vastly improved and a dream to ride.
She seems slightly stiff/off in the right hind somewhere. Hip, stifle or hock maybe? But she just seems a little weird on that leg consistently in this video and the last one about her. I know she’s gaited, but I just see a little something funny there.
Different horse but same thing. ruclips.net/video/qD0y-ha_Ts0/видео.html
Woo! I guessed right about her breed and her incorrect gaiting. \o/
Son of a gun, built awfully big for a Fox Trotter!
I'm sorry, but that gait doesn't look comfortable, at all😆
It’s because she’s pacing. It’s because she’s lazy and she needs to use her rear more and get off the forehand. When he gets her to do a four beat gait she should be much smoother.
I have one, once they are in the correct gait, it's very smooth. Rider will barely move. This mare is pacey.
Needs hoof work.
Hm her color is akhal teke 🙄
