I'm from Sydney. But whenever I travel past Melbourne CBD from the airport, I get to around the Ferris wheel on the freeway, then look right towards Williamstown (or at least where I think it is) and this song runs through my head.
The 80s didn't have the high quality production of modern day TV. But what it did have in spades was atmosphere. Shows like the Henderson Kids really made me feel like I was a kid in the best possible era. I loved growing up in the 80s!

*The Henderson Kids* were always just under my radar!
I watched the Henderson Kids this year via YT prior to unfortunately get deleted due to Crawford Productions being iffy like a lot of production teams (which they did to Guinevere Jones, Zoo Family, Halfway Across the Galaxy & Turn Left, The Saddle Club all of which were kids shows, despite focusing on more mature shows before & since and haven't made a show in the last decade or so, selling DVDs now). I have to say Henderson Kids was under my radar and after seeing all of it for the first time, i missed out on how good this show even today, the music especially is one of it's highlights and it's sometimes emotional at points.
And Tho must have been one of the first Vietnamese-Australians to be on commercial television...

If only more people seen this series, out of all of the Australian TV in the 1980s i've seen from 2020 to now, this is definitely pretty high up there, even tho i was born in the 90s. And if only this show didn't get taken down on YT, idk just upload the series not on that, it has to be somewhere else along with Thunderstone Season 3 which it might as well be lost media at this point.
I downloaded all of the second season from RUclips in 2017 (don’t think I downloaded the first), and still have the files. I assume it’s blocked on RUclips due to copyright issues, in which case there would be no point in uploading it here.
I went to the same high school as Brains! Though he was four years above me. His younger sister, who played Lochie on Neighbours, was one year above me.
@@bubblingdownunder his dad in real life played his dad in Neighbours..before going on to play Todd Landers dad a few years later.
Has this been slowed down at all? It is slower than the videos of the opening/closing credits on RUclips.
I suspect that the audio has been sped up for use on the TV credits, rather than the audio having been slowed down for this.
Slow or fast, still amazing...
And Jutta Goetze became one of my favourite authors in the early 2000s. Great that she was on the Henderson Kids as script editor.
