@@kevinb6969 true, but once locked in place even if the cable fails the lift would still be suspended. While I'm initially weary of this particular setup, I think they likely did their due diligence to make sure those cables are up to the task. Plus they are easy to inspect.
Yep, better believe these are over engineered, and with a fail safe built in. They can't be liable for million dollar + cars that some people park under them, and sell them at the prices they do.
@@kevinb6969 traditional lifts only lift with cables and have both cable slack safeties and lock positions ~every 4". The cables are only under tension for about 60seconds, then it is lowered on the locks. This design is a disaster waiting to happen.

When he said that, he had lowered it off the lock. He lifted it back up and locked it. The center lift locks lower than the outer 2, I'm assuming because of the Big Ass Fan he has spinning above it

Never heard of that car lift before but its cool as hell! There are several advantages with it I like. For example oil and other stuff wont drip down on the cars below. Slide some carpet or cardboard under the cars on the top and the platform prevents any drips.
The strong solid I beam construction looks super solid. Haven't seen a better designed open space, 3 car bay car lift.

He'll learn very quick what to and what not to put on top...
Well if the car leaks onto another car and not the ground, then the bottom car has some rust proofing and can be fairly easily cleaned by going through the car wash.

The floor is made of smaller pieces, not one big solid piece, meaning that it will have cracks in it. Liquids are great at finding any and all cracks that exist

You can't change oil with this lift due to the floor design. So it's a non starter.
@@keelay69 it's not intended for that. It's a solution for someone like Hoovie, who wants to keep all his cars at home. In fact, the solid floor on the lift deck is to keep the car above from leaking fluids onto the car below 😊

Hoovie, not sure you will see this. Be careful with clearance under the lift platforms for a bit. Multi stranded wire cables will stretch slightly when new, while under load. Disregard if these cables have been pre-stressed. BendPak should be able to advise.
I was watching him pull the Phantom in and about had a heart attack. If that cable stretches at all the roof is coming off when he goes to pull the Phantom out!
@@406Steven yep that was my thought too, looked close to the Phantom roof. Multi-strand cables typically have a nominal stretch when new as well as an elastic stretch as the bundle sets under tension. With the diameter and minimal run of the cables in this setup it should probably be under .5 inches.
