To answer your question- I would ask, you know why work experience is important before MBA? Let's try to cover it in short. 1st- Ofcrs, If you are 100% sure about what specialization you are going to take in the future, then you should go for the relavent experience bcuz it helps build the foundation and the understanding. 2nd- Getting a work experience is important bcuz it helps building confidence, communication skills, work ethic, timeliness and you know how to deal with people, situations, handle tasks etc. It helps you become a little mature person and MBA ready person. Now, Question remains... Should we take relavent work ex? Depends! One can try and explore other fields as this is the only time when you can do this. And if you have decided to go to particular field then you can take experience in that, there are chances that after getting an experience into that field, your perception might change and you switch/or decide to take some another specialization bcuz it was not how you expected it to be! So work experience always helps. Work Experience always helps. Note- Avoid taking data entry, sales and call centre jobs before MBA. No job is less but above mentioned fields doesn't add much value to CV, hence...! I hope it answers your question!

I have work experience in govt owned power distribution sector of 4 years. Although our line of work is engineering as well as commercial based, but I don't have any cutting edge experience with technology and etc. I have a really good experience in rural development and team management. Also lots of experience in meeting up with public demands and resolving conflicts that come our way while developing new infrastructure. In commercial aspects we have to collect revenue to meet every month's power purchase demand and for that we have to take some not so flashy but very simple and brute methods to meet up revenue demands. It won't matter, just try to get minimum 8 pointer throughout your graduation. Anything above 8 is considered good as per my knowledge. Hope the info helps. Thank you
@@akhandsoni5541 Also if possible try to get into some extra curricular activities in college. Like any type of competition, event or anything. Get the certificate, it would help you alot for profile building. Let it be anything, but valuable just do it...!!! Hey Shatakshi, I hope you are doing well.
I am an engineering undergraduate( final year) who will be starting as a business analyst trainee in Jio next July. My aim is to get into SPJIMR, Bombay after 3-4 years of work experience. I am also working as a consultant with Impact consulting, Mumbai voluntarily.
Can you please comment on what all things I should focus on while moving ahead?
Hi Shatakshi, good to connect with you!
Have been watching your videos for quite some time now, thanks for all the inputs.
I’m currently working at McKinsey and it’s been 2 years since I joined the firm right after my under-grad.
My basic question is
1. should I consider doing an MBA? Cos I have already landed in a consulting firm
2. If yes, what b-school should I consider?
Thanks a lot!
Hi Sakeen, in your case, you ideally dont need an MBA if you are mckinsey front end consultant. Can do MBA for career break may be but thats too costly!
Hello Sakeenur. I also want to work in the same role as yours. Can you suggest me the must have skills for your role?
Hi shatakshi I'm doing my final year currently at the same time I'm doing a full time intern at a IT company i really wanted to switch management related jobs where I can talk a lot and help in planning this. I feel like currently doing my intern if time goes the mindset to study may go and at the earlier stage I wanted an another degree so than i management field it self I'll have a greater experience in the beginning itself . Can I go with MBA ? Were can I do abroad or India? If India part-time or corresponding. But i wish to experience and enjoy doing MBA by learning lot of things. Just wanted to learn and explore best out of MBA
Your suggestion please
Apne konse fild me MBA kiya hai..
Hi madam I am 30 yrs old btech 2014 passout.dont have relevant exp due to engaged in our family business.now interested in mba finance from France or uk. Suggest me?
Ma’am I have completed my MA and I am 26 years old than I should prepare for government exams or should I pursue mba ?
I have 5 years of experience as civil engineer I want to do transition but is afraid also part time mba if I pursue will it benefit me.
I am Anusua, right now I'm pursuing my BBA HONORS and I'm in in final year of graduation Earlier, i had a plan to go for MBA right after BBA but, according to me and also considering a big investment it wasn't possible for me to go MBA. So, Is it better to have some good experience and then go for MBA right?
Yes.
Is my profile good enough to get into a good business school in india?
Hi Pratyush, I always advise youngters to do MBA after some quality work experience.Good luck!
Hey Shatakshi, hope you are doing well. I am a qualified Chartered Accountant (May’22) and have cleared all levels in the first attempt. Also, I am a CFA Level 2 candidate having my exams on 30th August,2022. I am undergoing my articleship with KPMG in the Statutory Audit domain focusing on BFSI sector.
I wish to pursue a career in management consulting. Would you suggest doing an MBA in India or Masters abroad? Also, should I give CAT’23?
I can understand you so easily thank you for your efforts and dedication towards the topic. Deeply In love with your brain 🧠
Is it advisable to do MBA at the age of 31-33?
But Shatakshi after taking break from studies and going for work experience, what if we loss the habit for study! ..... I mean I show people once getting in job culture loss their interest in studies.
Everyone on MBA campus does it Prakash. All these stories are myth fed to us by our elder generation!
Age - 30, Work experience 6.7 years
Executive MBA would be beneficial for you. If someone is there whose age is more than 30 but having low experience then I would suggest full time MBA.
Hey Shatakshi!! I like your content. It's really helpful. Keep up the good work. My question: i am 2016 engineering graduate and after working for 1 year in IT , i started preparing for upsc. But it didn't work. Now I'm planning to do MBA. What will you suggest?.
P.s. I don't have reliable mentor. Kindly requesting you to repsond please.
Same in my case
What are you doing now.
I'm a 2022 B.com graduate and recently i got placed in a startup in operations department.
So should i continue this job or look for something different jobs as i also wanted to MBA ?
Can look out if your learning has stalled Debbi. Good luck.
Hi Shatakshi,
I have 3.5 years of experience at a start up and 1.5 at a global hospitality firm - both in Marketing. I've scored a 640 on GMAT and really interested in growing my career in corporate. Do you suggest I retake GMAT and try for a top 35-50 school?
Hey, I think a good score of 680 - 750 would likely help you to land in top b-school. like ISB
@@saurabhdas374 I wasn't able to improve beyond 640. Would you recommend I try and apply again for next Sept? i will have 6+ years of exp by then.
@@ThePrincess301 Hi Neha, In 2021, the least GMAT score for an admit in ISB was 580. This is mainly because GMAT is just a small part of the admission as bschool looks into your overall profile. So I think you should apply for ISB since you have good amount of workex
Hi Neha, yes ideally retake GMAT if aiming top 35.
@@Shatakshi.Sharma Hi Shatakshi, Thanks for your reply!
I'm currently with 5 years work experience targeting 2023. Will 2024 be 'too late' in case I re-do GMAT or is it still a good timeline in your opinion?
i have just done my graduation in dentistry.. should i apply for mba
Hi Satakshi, I hope u r doing well. you prepare vry good videos with respect to the MBA programmes & education & u share ur personal experiences with respect to that & which r vry helpful. I wanted to ask u that how is the ISB institute with respect to the HR Specialisation. Should I go with it or not ? Awaiting ur reply. Thanks.
Hi Nitin, ISB is not at all known for HR hiring. May want to reconsider your options if you want an HR specialization.
Hey Satakshi, Is mba worth to do MBA after 35+ age?
Hi Shatakshi,
I finished my undergraduate back in 2018. I graduated as a Computer Science Eng. with BE degree.
I bring in experience of 4 years 6 month and counting. Purely into financial analytics. Exl Services being my first company followed by Bajaj Finance and HDFC Bank at present.
I am thinking on targeting for IIM A/B/C PGPX and ISB PGP program.
Wanted to hear your views on this? Also if you want to give out some feedback/suggestions?
Hi Shatakshi. Would you recommend someone ISB PGPpro (weekend executive MBA) to anyone? Any thoughts about that?
I am around 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst and considering this course for a career change and would like to explore roles in marketing or product marketing.
Hi Manvi, frankly not sure about PGP pro. Should check on Linkedin what most alums from this program are doing. Good luck!
@@Shatakshi.Sharma Thank you for responding. Sure will do so. Also, you always advise to go for institutes which are under FT ranking, but unfortunately, I do not find PGPpro in FT ranking but ISB ranking for sure is there. Should I still consider it?
Hi,
I am working as PSU banker. I am really frustated with the job culture. I am a btech IT graduate. Can you guide me with changing my job profile?
Hi Vineeta, focus on upskilling for your dream sector.
In which bank you are working.
Hello Mam, Just wanted to know do ISB has exchange programmes?

Hey Shtakshi I'll finish my undergrad in 2022 (BBA , finance major) now I'm too confuse about next step, should I go for work experience or MBA , It'll be really helpful to know your views on it
Thanks
I always suggest get some experience before jumping for an MBA. Good luck.

Basically I am looking for executive mba
Online MBA has limited benefits, but can explore if you have personal constraints. Good luck!
Mam i finished my graduation in mathematics and after that I did b.ed after that I am doing MSc in mathematics....now I am 25 years old.....i am preparing for mba 4 months....i have no work experience.....am i too old for giving cat and MBA or they will consider me as I am doing b.ed and msc after graduation though I have no work experience..... please reply mam.....too much tensions going on mind please reply......am i too old as I have no ex till 25??? Or they consider me as I am doing MSc and b.ed after graduation???
Same situation. What are you doing now. You are not interested in teaching.
Hei too have the same question
I am 25 yrs old and have 3 years of work ex in Quality Council Of India. Will it be good enough to pursue an MBA now
Sure. Sounds good experience to get started.
Mam I am a BBA 1st year Student
And in the first semester I fail in one subject because of giving an exam after 2 years . Because I have done my final exam of 11th and whole 12th from online.. and my college exams is offline so there is so much anxiety or pressure . Like how to write college exams, which type of questions came , who we paas,
That's why my exam performance is not up to the mark , i think that's why I am fail
So top iim or top b school is taking students who fail in college exams . And how they get placement...👍👍🙏🙏🙏
It won't matter, just try to get minimum 8 pointer throughout your graduation.
Anything above 8 is considered good as per my knowledge. Hope the info helps. Thank you
@@saurabhambekar20 thank you so much ❤️.......
For this information
@@akhandsoni5541 Also if possible try to get into some extra curricular activities in college. Like any type of competition, event or anything. Get the certificate, it would help you alot for profile building. Let it be anything, but valuable just do it...!!!
There are committees in colleges, for example placement committee, event organizing committee, get into it and if possible grab a responsibility role like the head of the committee.
@@saurabhambekar20 ❤️🙏 thanks for sharing us
