Any Archie game is worth viewing. Old Arch took a beating many games that kept him from being as good as he could have been. He had to fight injuries and force alot of things on the field due to lack of talented supporting staff. When they built the team up....drugs ruined the Saints best laid plans.
Wow that's atrocious quality! That would be the end of that young broadcaster right? Not so fast.....he's still going. GREAT TIMES back then with the Packers fun offense. But horrible defense.
I lived in Minnesota and would drive to the border with friend's parents and the kids to watch the Packers all the time. Fun times as a kid. Vikings still haven't won a Super Bowl since then.... haven't even been TO one. Pathetic franchise.
I realize this was Fred Dryer's first year as a broadcaster after his playing career but he was smart to go into acting. In this game he is just stating the obvious.
Well they gave away Dickey's number to Aaron Rodgers. They also gave away Willie Davis' number to Jordy Nelson, then Jordy Nelson's number to Romeo Doubs.
I'm telling you their piping noise into the stadiums now a days no doubt about it. Listen how much quieter the Superdome was back then than it is now. Same thing goes for stadiums like Seattle and probably the other domed stadiums.
Gerry Ellis was a good RB, but a freak injury at a youth camp ended his career prematurely. With today’s medical advances, his injury would’ve most likely been treatable.
Poor John Jefferson quite possibly the best wide reciever of this time sent to rot in Green Bay by that cheapskate Gene Klein owner of the Chargers. Never went anywhere. Neither did the Chargers. 79-82. He let Fred Dean go to!
I wouldn't say he went to rot. He just wasn't on TV as much because...Green Bay. He was a star in GB and had to share targets with HOF'er Lofton, Paul Coffman and all-purpose back Gerry Ellis (who was a prototype Marshall Faulk). While not exactly "Air Coryell" they were a high-flying offense in that mold. They had a solid def secondary, and were only really lacking a couple studs in the trenches on both sides.
Thanks Richard.....this gives us a chance to see games we never had a chance to see due to the markets we lived in......
So true I've been watching old patriots games even the ones I did see like playoffs and Monday night football
Well in wisconsin they haven’t blacked out a game ever because they have sold out every game
@@justi139 Very unique team, town, and situation up there! You were lucky!
Richard, appreciated as always. Any game with Archie Manning at QB is worth it. Thanks again
You're welcome David & I hope to find a few more of them.

@@romelovesdan There's a case for Archie to be in the HoF based on his genetic contribution to the game
Starting QB Dave Wilson once threw for 621 yards in a game at Ohio State while playing for the 'Fighting Illini'
Even though the Saints didn't have a overall team around him.
I guess Fred Dryer's broadcasting career didn't work out. 3 years later he would begin his run on the tv show Hunter
Lynn Dickey was pretty good. These were very competitive years.
He wuz VERY good, wasn't his fault he had all those injuries.
Very underrated as a Packers quarterback.
At the 1:15 mark, Tim Ryan calls the Saints, the New York Saints and then Calls the Packers the Detroit Lions. What a start!
Wow dude was high as shit

Still prefer Ryan to Joe Buck any day
Glad someone else caught that too.
@@NFLdraftPreview 1:09:47 "Led the nfl in forced turnovers with 48" Not too bad.
Dirt Winston, Hokie Gajan, Guido Merkens, Hoby Brenner, what great names the Saints had.

Thanks, Richard. I appreciate it! Keep up the great work.
I love Green Bay Packers
Easiest win for then head coach of the Packers Bart Starr . May he rest in ☮️.
Too bad Starr never had a defense this Green Bay offense could compete with anyone in the league
Great game
It's Hunter doing the commentary! Who knew?
nice one bro, thanks
It appears someone recorded this in Central Wisconsin. Air broadcast from WSAU Wausau. Sir 7. 🤗

11:35 What a Hit on this Play!!
It took a different team to get George Rogers to the Super Bowl.
Wasnt jim taylor #31??? They really gave that # away? WOW
Number is not retired and about a dozen or so players have worn the number since
Well they gave away Dickey's number to Aaron Rodgers. They also gave away Willie Davis' number to Jordy Nelson, then Jordy Nelson's number to Romeo Doubs.
Hunter was in the booth?

It looked like the upper deck was half empty

For me I have a tiny problem of Santa wearing their away uniforms at home.
Ha green bay was going to ball 45 times I really don't think so not when you have John Jefferson James lofton and Paul Coffman
I caught that too lol
Maybe if the Saints had a better defense Archie would had a chance to get into the playoffs.
1:03:17 Big Hit
ed sheeran perfect
Fred Dryer before he did Hunter.

Fred Dean created the 'elephant' position for the 49ers defense
GENE KLEIN'S DUMBEST DECISION WAS NOT MAKING THE TRADE FOR THE 1ST PICK IN THE 83 DRAFT
New York Saints 1:20
Little did anyone of these Green Bay packers know that 15 years later in that same superdome Green Bay would win its first Super Bowl in 30 years
