It was put in place in the beginning of the country because remember Rhode Island had a lot more people in it Than South Carolina

Getting rid of the electoral college makes it where the coastal cities majority vote rule the country.
Which is exactly what the Founders did NOT want! Hence, the reason why they created the electoral college in the first place. Nothing has changed regarding the reasons for the EC since the founding of the US.

If there are more people in a certain area, it makes sense that they would have more political clout, since they have more people who are affected by the policies they're voting on.

The electoral college makes it where the candidates have to visit most of the country and not just a couple of states.
Talk about votes meaning more than others. Tyrannical government is kept at bay because of the electoral college.... it can't be won by just a simple majority vote. Its shouldn't be won by a simple majority vote.

Packing the court will not result in any better decisions, no more than a committee of twenty can make better decisions than a committee of ten. The court leaned left for a while and now it (may) lean right. So far the courts decisions do not appear partisan and perhaps less partisan than the last court. What I want is a court that can look at laws and make a reasonable judgement as to whether they are constitutional.

Our founding fathers were geniuses to be able to create an entirely new system that would work for so long especially with how different today's world is compared to when it was put together. The democrats constantly try to tear it apart. Don't mess with a system that works. You can dream up the perfect set of rules but that doesn't mean it'll work and don't mess with something as important as the electoral college or the Supreme Court. Democrats only platform is them dreaming. Republicans are realistic. Democrats never calculate the costs. It sounds great to stand on a soapbox for things like immigration saying that everyone is welcomed to America until America is over populated and our cities look like Brazilian slums. It sounds much better to let everyone in so they are not stuck starving on the other side of a wall but when do you close the gates, after the entire South America population is in America? Future generations will thank republicans when they are able to be born into a country with room for them instead of their rightful spot being taken by an immigrant. The same goes for health care, it sounds so nice for everyone to have it and it sounds cruel to deny people it, but republicans look at the end cost.
