All we need on the Supreme Court are experienced legal scholars who understand and uphold the CONSTITUTION.

All of the latest judicial appointees said in their confirmation hearings that Roe vs. Wade was "settled law" meaning it was a valid interpreting of the Constitution.

We need term limits on Congress more than we need term limits on the Supreme Court
Term limits for the Supreme court would be unconstitutional. They would have to amend the Constitution. The whole idea the Democrats have is wrong. ALL appointed members were voted in by a bi-partisan committee. The reason they are appointed for life is what is happening now. Public opinion is a moot point. The SCOTUS HAS to be able to rule on constitutional grounds and how people feel about that is irrelevant. If the Democrats got their way, they would change the court to suit their needs weekly. No matter how you feel about the SCOTUS, they are there to keep this country free. SCOTUS has NOT banned abortions, has NOT taken your free student loan forgiveness and has NOT "taken" any freedoms away from the people. All they have done, in most rulings, is give the power back to the state for these matters. People of this country are under educated over fed and extremely lazy to not know how the branches of government work and why they were put in place by the forefathers.

I agree...I would like to see a single term limit of six-years for all of them. It is silly that Reps run for re-election about 20 minutes after winning a seat as is required in a two-year term. Stagger it so that a third of Congress comes up every two years.

As someone who was admitted to a very good University based on race, I can say for sure that it’s a bad idea! My mother sent me to Private School all my life and even with all that I was not prepared for the real world. I got into a University because I fit for their Hispanic Engineering program. I lasted 2 years before realizing there were others of all races far better than I. I wasted 2 years and countless dollars chasing a dream that wasn’t meant for me. I ended up going to a state college, changed my major, got better grades and walked away with a Management Marketing degree…and I’m grateful for that. Affirmative Action helps NO ONE! I want a doctor performing open heart surgery to be the best of the best…not someone who ticked boxes! If race really was an issue there would be no black actors or athletes…or lawyers trying high profile cases…or Supreme Court Justices! Notice how the Black and Hispanic politicians are FOR Affirmative Action…yet look where they are! Notice wealthy white men in government talk about White Privilege…and yet they won’t step down! The hypocrisy is maddening and needs to end!
Affirmative action has never worked and the minorities who love it show the utter laziness of them. Anyone can be wealthy if they work for it instead of sitting around complaining about racists. The difference between affirmative action and legacy admissions is this. One costs colleges and universities money. The other makes them money.
A lot of alumni donate to get those legacy admissions...I don't really see that as the same.....I think it still requires some investigation into the student.....why would you even want to go to a top notch school if you can't do the work? I'm not sure if they have exams anymore or just grade with stars, but exams used to be tough and require sleepless nights and a lot of anxiety.... A lot of suicides happened at that time.

Actually, that's kinda not true. If you have a business, you can enforce payment by virtue of the government that licenses your authority to operate. So, every aboveboard business (as opposed to drug cartels and whatnot) has a silent partner in every transaction.
I do agree with you, though, that a company is legally and philosophically entitled to heavily preference longstanding clients (legacy admissions) over new applicants. Everyone else can go to community college. That's the point of it. It's in the name.
When my niece was really young, I would play games with her, and she would always make up rules on the fly whenever she was losing, so she would always win. That's what democrats always remind me of. Little children that can't stand the idea of not always being the winner.
Whenever something happens that they don't like, their first instinct is to change everything around so it will always suit them and their desires.
They cry about the Supreme Court being unfairly balanced, so their solution is to change the rules around so it's unbalanced in THEIR favor. Because they don't care about it being ublanaced, they just care that it doesn't help THEM. Then, when the republicans use their new rules against them, they'll cry and demand the rules be changed again.

In Australia we used to have university entrance exams. You chose your courses and choice of university, then you sit their entrance exam. Best scores win. It doesn’t matter who or what you are.

It's strange that the party that brought to the forefront "find the root causes" has never addressed the horrid K-12 education that is so common in minority communities. Years ago, there was an attempt to have 'level of competence' exam for all teachers of K - 12 schools. The Unions said it was, of course, "RACIST!" Standardized tests actually helped even the playing field. Before them, if 2 students had straight As and a similar record, then they'd often look at the school and the more prestigious high school would give some weight. The SAT allows kids from unknown schools to grab attention. And kids that can score really well on those tests can usually also prepare themselves.
And prep courses can be bought in book form very cheaply.
