Chicago Red Stars' Mallory Swanson anticipates a comeback

Perhaps the Chicago athlete most set for a comeback is the Chicago Red Stars’ Mallory Swanson. Now she says she is eager to move past the most significant adversity of her career.

Mal is quite grounded and humble. I respect that she maintains her faith without being overbearing about it. That she has recovered so well, it seems only fitting that she scored the gold medal winning goal in Paris in the game that was her 100th appearance with the USWNT. She's a generational player on a front line that right now is, arguably, the best front line any women's team has ever had.

Mal was at the top of her game when she went down. She was one of the missing ingredients for the USWNT at the WC (along with Cat Macario). It will be great to see her back on the pitch again.
