That's myself, a recording from 1983 with my orchestra, when I was solo horn with the Munich Radio Orchestra.

It is so difficult to find concertos played on Wienerhoerner. I love the sound! Does anyone else play on them around the world? In the US for instance?

Yes, quite a few major horn players in the US are big fans of the Vienna Horn and actually own instruments and have fun in their spare time. They don't really play them in their respective orchestras because of the incredible difficulty of managing the repertoire on a single F Horn (in Vienna it's a tradition and they grow up playing these instruments). Here are some recommended recordings of concertos and famous solo works for horn, all played on Vienna Horn: Strauss 1 and 2:

Schumann, Beethoven, Brahms and Schubert on Vienna Horn:www.amazon.com/Art-Vienna-Horn-Ludwig-Beethoven/dp/B0001WE4A4/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=The+art+of+the+Vienna+Horn&qid=1591115115&sr=8-1
The following is especially thrilling, you can find several recordings on Amazon: ruclips.net/video/jnFl1q0IYTA/видео.html

@@skisunfb Thank you for that! I learned to play the horn in Vienna, initially on a Vienna Horn... and yes it is difficult. ON their recommendation (being female there was no chance at the time to play in their major orchestras) I purchased a Hoyer double horn. Still, my horn professor had me just play the F side of the horn... so everything I play and played has been on an 'F' horn... I really should learn when to use the Bflat side... I do love the sound of a Vienna Horn still...
