This is super human strength right here. How he got through this song and One More Light, let alone that whole 3-hour show without totally losing it, I will never know.

Mike released a solo album, called Post Traumatic, about year after Chester passed. The entire album is about him grieving Chester. I highly recommend checking out some of the songs on the album. They are extremely heartbreaking and powerful, especially “Over Again”. I’d love to see a reaction to that song.

Came here to say this! On “Over Again”, Mike wrote and recorded the first verse and the first part of the music video the day of this tribute concert. He wrote and recorded the second part the day after the tribute concert. It’s powerful.

I was so hoping you would listen to this! watching this live was so sad 😭
I'd love to see your reaction to Mike's LP, Post Traumatic, which he wrote in the months after Chester's death. mostly the songs Place To Start, Nothing Makes Sense Anymore, Promises I Can't Keep, Hold It Together, World's On Fire and Can't Hear You Now, but really the whole album.

I couldn’t bring myself to watch the tribute to Chester, so I’m glad you reacted to this. The lyrics were really powerful. The pain and confusion Mike was going through must have made that so difficult for him to sing. Chester was such a bright light and I know his music and the way he shared his soul with the world impacted and helped so many people.
And you are right about the ripple effect. I’m glad more people are talking about suicide awareness. I also kept thinking about “Neon Gravestones” by twenty one pilots. Another powerful and thought provoking song.
But this section in particular also made me think of the loss you and your wife suffered 😿 I hope you are both doing well.
    “There’s an emptiness tonight
A heavy hand that pulls me down
They say it’s gonna be alright
but can’t begin to tell me how”

Thank you for your gentle thoughts. Be well, young man. Looking forward to more reactions and life advice. This song and situation, still, has me crying. Peace ☮️💜

Mike has always been a guy that wears his heart on his sleeve, this concert, this feeling, i could watch it in full only after 3 years of chesters death, Linkin park and chester especially were big influences to me, depression, despair, pain all the feelings went trough me while i was growing up, and the band grew up with me, i remember being one of the guys that said they went too mainstream, and now i listen to those "mainstream" songs just because i understand how chester felt.

I just started my University days when Chester died. I kinda grew up with their music. After the tribute concert it was very very hard to listen to their music without crying. Came back to listening to them and the older songs about 2 years ago again.

😢I have the tribute concert saved, but haven't watched it yet. I stumbled upon this while watching your other videos. I didn't want to cry today, but wow, yea. Universal hugs all around. We Miss You. We Love You, Chester. #HisLegacy #MakeChesterProud
Also Mike is my heart. He is incredibly strong.

Mike Shinoda's songwriting capabilities should be analyzed and taught in institutions.

Mike wrote a lot of the lyrics, but quite often he used Chester as his “muse”, using Chester’s emotions and life experiences as his inspiration. There are also lots of songs Mike and Chester wrote together….so it’s hard to always know who wrote exactly what. Chester wrote Crawling, Given Up, and the Messenger-there are more, those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I can see where you're coming from to say suicide is selfish. However, as someone living with severe depression and occasional suicidal ideation, when you said that, it felt, to me, like it would be just another reason to follow through. By that, I mean with depression, you're already feeling inadequate and as though you've let everyone down, so when accusations of selfishness get thrown on top, it only adds to the weight of it all. It's another reason to say you've failed, pushing you closer to the act. I know that wasn't you're intention, but a depressive mind could easily take something like that in such a way. Even though they may be able to recognize the logic in an opposing argument, that's not enough to overcome the emotional devastation brought on by the depression. Sorry, I just wanted to let you know how that label came across to me.

In my experience fear of hurting loved ones is one of the main reasons people hold off on committing suicide, but i personally can't say how it is to be in those shoes myself
