It's so exciting to think about how far this gallery has come in the past few months, and where it will be in the future. The 375 is clearly a work of art and I'm so glad that we all get to join you through the construction of the gallery, keep it up Joey!
Wow, Joey! That looks absolutely stunning! Great job on the wood, moss, and fish selection! You definitely put a ton of effort into your tanks, and it clearly shows. Thank you for sharing with us :)
Unicorns okay duly noted!! "Stands and stares at the tanks and tries to hug each tanks and say i love you" Dad heard me saying i love you 6 times. "You're getting married?" (note that i am 31 years old woman.
and talk to the critters in it too....:D i talk to the fish, shrimp, snails, my bearded dragon, and even my cat, because, they are people too!! i will even talk to all of my plants, both in and out of the tanks. and the wild animals and bugs as well as my dragons food bugs! :D like i said they are people too and do better when treated as such!!
The scape in this tank looks absolutely STUNNING!! I can't wait to see how it looks 6 months down the road. When the plants have matured and properly grown in, maybe you could do a 10min video of this tank with some relaxing background music so that we could chill out after a hard day at work watching your fishes swimming happily in there.
Great system. But have you thought about cladding the inside of underneath the stand behind the simp with some acrylic or something to really show off the sump. Or to just paint it. Reckon it will show sump off even nicer!?
2 things: 1) I've never loved rainbows so I was a little bummed when you said they were going to be your show fish, but damn. They look amazing in that tank Joey. Congrats on your awesome gallery 🤓 I know there's still a ton to come and I can't wait to see the rest of the fishy crew. 2) Not sure if you've looked into this or have heard about it, but I've read in the past that one of the reasons CO2 is usually dosed to the tank or the inline hose is because the more open surface area (surface of the water) it is exposed to, the more is released into the surrounding air. You should get a CO2 checker (the little glass color changing ones are nice) and put it in the last compartment of your sump, or better yet your display if you don't mind it in there. Just food for thought. Wouldn't want you to waste your CO2 tank! Oh, and I would love to see some green neon tetras, rummies, or some neon green rasboras that Rachel just got in;) Awesome shoaling fish. Just an idea. Keep rockin it💕
His explanation only takes bio filtration into consideration, but it doesn't really account for the fact that a lot of fish need a lot of room to swim in. Aquaculture with modern technology is able to handle massively densely stocked tanks but it doesn't mean the conditions are very pleasing for the fish... it just means they aren't poisoned by the water. I'm not saying these fish need more space. But I'm saying this should be something that is considered, explained and taken into account, because way too often I see people stick a huge fish in an aquarium in which it barely has the space to turn around and they say it's fine because water quality is fine...
Nice job on the filtration explanation. I do the same thing to "cycle" a tank - add used filter media from another source and I have never had an issue doing that.
Wow! Beautiful setup. I'm a little envious but happy that you have this to show us. I've learned so much from you over the years and want to thank you. I started out about 5 or 6 years ago with a goldfish bowl and now have a 10 gallon, a 29 gallon, a 90 gallon and will soon be setting up a 40 gallon breeder. I'm into African Cichlids, but if I can convince my wife to let me step up to a 300 gallon for the Cichlids, I'll change the 90 gallon into a planted tank with a single species of tropical fish
Dude whem he hugged the tank XD Thats TOTALLY me every time I come home, Close the door, hug the cats, and full body glomp my Pleco tank! I feel ya man, the fish and animals make a home a real home! Congratulations
I always thought getting a nice assortment of plant species would make a planted tank look full and great, but with only two you've got a tank to make me jealous, Good work Joey!
Joey please reply Can I use coal as aquarium gravel or filter media I'm worried that it might harm the fish i need an expert answer Please please reply BTW LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Jyrryll Banaag the bottom part off the tank is to small for them cause their will get much bigger and they might destroy plants so it wouldn't work out
Italian Supreme Don't they only grow 15 inches? A 375 would be room for them, the aquascape in in this tank might cover too much of the bottom, but the tank size is fine.
While your correct the two issues would be one having to remove or cut down the aquascape and two being from what I remember Joey isn't fond with how Teacups look.
You should do more research on "teacup" stingrays. That's a generic term for a large number of rays, if your LFS is selling "teacup" stingrays, buy them elsewhere.
I dont disagree about your filtration but a betta can live in a 1 gallon jar with a filter or water changes doesnt mean its optimal or even humane i trust that you will balance this tank better and remove some fish anyone thats my opinion congrats 9n the gallery
+Ding Ding yes, in fact I did the math. Unfortunately I live in one of the lowest daily light hours zones in the world. ID need double to triple what most would to get the same job done. I talked about this when I first started the gallery
Put 47.5% of your fishes on some kind of ""DIY Fish Treadmill", as they swim against the current the velocity is just so that each flap of the fins generate 2.2 Gigawatts of power that should keep this fishroom running for 27 minutes, oh well :-)
This is just awesome..I started the hobby from watching your videos. I have a 15g tank now and I just love the fact you have an aquarium for small fish. I can't wait for you to add some bottom dwellers (corydoras) and hopefully an algae eater (otocinclus) in there.
Joey great video. Loved how you explained the filtration and how it works. I think people get to caught up in the "1 inch of fish per gallon" rule. Who came up with that rule anyhow. I have always broken that rule, much like other rules, never had a problem. Keep going with the great work you are doing. Education has no substitute.
If you like it and you can handle it, go for it. Although I think it is a little crowded at the moment. When they grow up I do not want to imagine it. But that is only aesthetically. What is undoubtedly is that it is spectacular.
i'm still not convinced you have enough plants to absorb all the -NO3 your filter is pumping out. sure you can do water changes more often. but doesn't it go against the low-maintenance nature of a planted tank?
People of the internet, this young man is amazing, a genius & a published author! I think he may know a bit about what he is doing!! Sit back and just enjoy, leave your jealousy at the door!
Very interesting. I've never heard of the grams per waste. Really interesting explanation and video Joey! Learned so much from you throughout the years and glad the aquarium gallery is working out great so far for you!
Thanks for the very informative and educational video, Joey. I've never really understood how a sump works, but now I do. So, thank you for that and for sharing your amazing tanks and gallery!
Those few plants won't do much in terms of removing nitrates in this tank, trust me, with this ammount of fish i guess the nitrates would easilly reach well over 150 ppi per week. Thats why i ask in other comment how Joey will be fighting with this problem ;-) for example 3 water changes by 40% each week or perhaps constant water change with a dripping system, or maybe another solution like a resin absorbers...
+ryan richardson I don't use miles. I use a combination of metric and imperial. Being proud has nothing to do with that and rather what I prefer to use.
That sump is a work of art. And I did learn a lot! One critique: when you're standing you sway a lot. It's pretty common but something to watch out for.
hey Joey. I remember you saying that sometime after all the 120's are stocked, you would like to have another small area for nano tanks. Im primarily freshwater, but I would LOVE to see you push the limits of saltwater in a smaller tank (5 gallons or less). I love your videos man

The king of DIY ,perfect planted tank
Do you have any plans with the 10 120g tanks?
The king of DIY do you like eating fish? Like salmon.
The king of DIY hi how are you and what was your first fish?
It's so exciting to think about how far this gallery has come in the past few months, and where it will be in the future. The 375 is clearly a work of art and I'm so glad that we all get to join you through the construction of the gallery, keep it up Joey!
I love that you address people's concerns, it shows you care. The tank looks absolutely amazing it's going to be great to see it mature over time.
Wow, Joey! That looks absolutely stunning! Great job on the wood, moss, and fish selection! You definitely put a ton of effort into your tanks, and it clearly shows. Thank you for sharing with us :)
Thanks! And you are welcome!
The king of DIY please
Glad to see the tanks doing well!
I can just imagine a massive school of neon tetras 😄
Ashab Rahim that would be 600 at least in a tank that big with that filtration system.
Mitchell Lubline that would depend on joeys preferences
Definetely more depth with small schooling tetras... these fish are cool but they dont really balance the aquarium.
Ashab Rahim Ah yes, someone who shares my views!
Ashab Rahim or cardinal tetras or any kind of tetras
It's always important to hug your tanks , remember that....
Maybe a little kiss too.... but thats for another video. ;)
That kind of video goes on a different website!
Pretty sure that's not for RUclips 😂😂
Unicorns okay duly noted!! "Stands and stares at the tanks and tries to hug each tanks and say i love you" Dad heard me saying i love you 6 times. "You're getting married?" (note that i am 31 years old woman.

You should add corydoras to the 375
Ua David OMG YESSSSSSSS
Ua David I'd like a few plecos
Ua David
That's actually a great idea!
Golden panchaxes too
Venezuela blacks, my fave. Not owned any yet coz theyre expensive for a good group

For some reason I love the way you say ‘are’ and ‘gar’
The real question is.........Have you named them yet? XD
+SilentScreamer hahaha
SilentScreamer ado a finding Nemo! 'We'll call this half Marlin junior, this half carol junior. Done, lets go!' Haha 😂
Name three of them steve. The rest are named Gertrude.
What color of mermaid outfit have you chosen, Joey?
+CJ and Auntie Yaya hot pink
MMMM! And when are we all going to enjoy?
CJ and Auntie Yaya 🤔🤔I wonder
Nice intro Joey😂😂
;)
The king of DIY please
Haven't seen the video yet but, I all ready liked it 😂😂
You're not alone😂
levihero3 that's good to hear 😏😁
Iván Almaraz SAME
Iván Almaraz wow so inconsiderate😏
I try to like all his vids
I love it when Joey come to the tank and the fish follows Joey. Even when Joey squat down to the filter, the fish also go down. How lovely
Beautiful colours on the fish joey perfect choice for the tank
I love how the rainbows hover around near you while you film, its kind of adorable
Great system. But have you thought about cladding the inside of underneath the stand behind the simp with some acrylic or something to really show off the sump. Or to just paint it. Reckon it will show sump off even nicer!?
It's so cute how the rainbows follow you around :)
You dont have to explain, you are the King of DIY so they just need to shut up!
Right?! Who are these critics, can't they see he's successfully been doing aquariums for so many years! Just ignore them!
The rainbow fish are already looking great!
2 things:
1) I've never loved rainbows so I was a little bummed when you said they were going to be your show fish, but damn. They look amazing in that tank Joey. Congrats on your awesome gallery 🤓 I know there's still a ton to come and I can't wait to see the rest of the fishy crew.

It looks so beautiful! What a difference. Everyone looks healthy and happy.
who doesnt love planted aquarium? its the holy grail of the hobby
They're STARVING! And adorable. Thanks for the explanation on the filter.
Joey destroyed those concerns with his logic
Your rant on cubic inches @ adult size & fish poop to help calculate the bio media in the sump was some VERY useful AND NEW info for me. THANKS!
Perfect tank
Perfect fishes
By a perfect man
💗 u joey
Your filtration system is a work of art. Love it!!!
Acanthophthalmuses are the best botton cleaners. I noticed that they are cleaning much better then corydoras and loaches. And they looks very exotic.
I adore your passion for the fish hobby!! The fish are our little buddies each with their own personality and we need to look after them!!!
YAY THE RED COLOR IS SHOWING!
looks like christmas with the green tank
setting up this many new exciting tanks FEELS like Christmas!
Why are you watching this video? Get back to selling papers!
Nice job on the filtration explanation. I do the same thing to "cycle" a tank - add used filter media from another source and I have never had an issue doing that.
Thanks for the explanation

add some reticulated hillstream loaches! they look like miniature stingrays.
Wow how cool. They way they all school together and follow you is amazing!
The king of DIY or more well known as the king of rainbows 🌈
I always thought getting a nice assortment of plant species would make a planted tank look full and great, but with only two you've got a tank to make me jealous, Good work Joey!
Joey you should lift that power extention off the floor by the sump incase of any leaks or spashes
+FINN t still working on it all
The king of DIY ok stay safe
I am so in love with this tank, it looks absolutely stunning.
Joey please reply
Can I use coal as aquarium gravel or filter media I'm worried that it might harm the fish i need an expert answer
Please please reply
BTW LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Please reply 👆👆👆
don't use coal. a good cheap media is lava rock u could crush it too for substrate I guess but it would be pretty dusty.
Coral helps with higher ph fish like cyclids had lots of it in my old tank but i went salt water and grow coral
Wow! The rainbows are coloring up well! Great video Joey!
Dude.... this is your tank why would people think they should be telling you what to do with YOUR tank
This is an inspiring video to step up my aquascaping game!
that moment one of the glass things in the sump is bigger than my future 😭😭
Rainbows are starting to color up nice, looking good Joey!
Could teacup stingrays live in this tank or would they destroy the plants?
Jyrryll Banaag the bottom part off the tank is to small for them cause their will get much bigger and they might destroy plants so it wouldn't work out
Teacups grow WAY too big to go in that tank.

He seriously moves around so much! My eye just follows him as he sways and just moves all over haha.
have you thought about solar to help supplement the amount tof electricity you use?
+Ding Ding yes, in fact I did the math. Unfortunately I live in one of the lowest daily light hours zones in the world. ID need double to triple what most would to get the same job done. I talked about this when I first started the gallery
The king of DIY windmill if solar not viable

I got a challenge for you. Get 1 male guppy and 1 female. And let the magic happen
Johnnyx Xiong what ill happen.....?
A gazillion babies in a month.
Yeah, and feed them to Frank.
Beautiful fish and tank great job joey
I think it looks a bit overstocked
It's looking amazing. I think it's your best looking tank so far.
Can you plzz give me some advice on bga(cyanobacteria)
If you like it and you can handle it, go for it. Although I think it is a little crowded at the moment. When they grow up I do not want to imagine it. But that is only aesthetically.

And I thought my undergravel filter was complicated
I love this tank! It's gonna look so great when the rainbows color up!

When a RUclips channel is your favorite tv show... absolutely love it :)
Just wondering what you do with the fish you dwindle down
OtherGuyHD He rehomes them
fry them with some rosemary and garlic ;)
OtherGuyHD back to the pet store. He mentioned so in a similar comment.
It looks really good. The filter system is amazing. You sure know your stuff. So interesting.
Him: There's something I need to tell you.... *plane goes bye* me: F*ck my life
Very interesting. I've never heard of the grams per waste. Really interesting explanation and video Joey! Learned so much from you throughout the years and glad the aquarium gallery is working out great so far for you!
Joey should download and post on Snapchat. Like if you agree
The rainbow tank looks amazing!
Noobs just need to stop preaching and let the experts do what they do.
I love how you explain everything !!! Very educational!!!
How are you so cute joey
IM SO EXCITED TO SEE THESE GUYS GROW AND ADD SOME RED TO THAT TANK!!!
Who is waiting for another fish that is coming
Im impressed with this aquarium, and with its equipment, nice job Joey
this planted tank needs more plants and less fish :)
Thanks for the very informative and educational video, Joey. I've never really understood how a sump works, but now I do. So, thank you for that and for sharing your amazing tanks and gallery!
But what about nitrates? Filters don't remove nitrates?
Jayden Chambers
That's the plant's job.. Those plants will consume it..
Yudhistira Brahmantyo those plants wont consume it for sure is definitely not enough of them for this amount of fish
Water changes.... like any other freshwater tank i run.
The number one reason for water changes is to remove the nitrates.. Lol...
Daily tank hugs are the best! Love learning from your vids. Keep up the outstanding work.
Joey your a Canadian
Stop using them silly pounds and miles
Be proud and confuse some people
+ryan richardson I don't use miles. I use a combination of metric and imperial. Being proud has nothing to do with that and rather what I prefer to use.
That sump is a work of art. And I did learn a lot! One critique: when you're standing you sway a lot. It's pretty common but something to watch out for.
Bet you won't pin this

hey Joey. I remember you saying that sometime after all the 120's are stocked, you would like to have another small area for nano tanks. Im primarily freshwater, but I would LOVE to see you push the limits of saltwater in a smaller tank (5 gallons or less). I love your videos man

Joey,
this is absolutely stunning! Imagine all the fish colored up swimming in that tank. Are you ready to fall in love again? XD

I just love how u set up your tanks!!!! Extremely motivated. And this one is awesome. I have been watchin your videos since i was 14 and they r extremely addictive. Got to learn a lot.
Great videos! I'm hardcore debating starting up my own aquarium when my girlfriend and I get a place of our own. I feel like I've learned so much from watching these that I just might be able to do it! Thanks for sharing!
Wow their colors are really staring to shine in. They love the wave makers too.
Awesome update! That's one complex filtration system! Safety of the animals is clearly your priority! Well done my friend!
The king of DIY love your channel and everything about your aquarium gallery. Your 375 looks awesome--totally agree with your logic on waste processing.
P.S.-- I really hope one of the tanks in your racking system is going to get a group of amazing discus!!
That tank is looking great! Can't wait to see how it looks when all the plants grow.
