    Killer lesson on creating tension. There are so many lessons out there for standard lines and not much specific to creating tension and release. This was great and so needed. More tension building lines! Ha ✌🏼

    it’s interesting that the augmented shape 4:20 is also mel minor. I know it’s off topic but would you interject melodic minor phrasing as well and visa-versa

      You totally can switch between the sounds over an altered dominant sound. The augmented shape will give you a #5 with a natural 9 sound, while the melodic minor has the b9 and #9 instead. As long as the lines are outlining their respective sounds well though, mixing them up will sound good.

      @@ChaseMaddox Great info. that helps a lot. Been workinking a lot with melodic, harmanic and diminished. Haven’t addressed augmented and whole tone so this is really insightful for me.

    Hello, Did I catch you doing 3 notes on the g string on the second octave of that riff? You could do a more stretchy harder to finger version and get the 4... ?

      @@ChaseMaddox that first augmented one..just was playing with it here now ..does seem easier getting that 3rd interval to the b string

      @@ChaseMaddox ok got it... there are ways if I see the intervals ... 3rd walk chromatic a 2nd... 3rd 3rd etc ... Then that second one ive heard pat martino do right off the top of my head...
