I was in a Led Zeppelin cover band in high school, and as a woman I loved singing celebration day.
“ her face is cracked from smiling, all the fears that she’s been hiding, and it seems pretty soon everybody’s gonna know. And her voice is sore from shouting cheering winners that are losing. Then she wonders if their days are few and soon they’ll have to go.” let’s not cut celebration day short.

I think that's a reference to the Statue of Liberty. Although I suppose it works pretty well as a random reference to most any woman

Very cool. I salute anyone brave enough to cover Led Zeppelin on vocals.

Celebration Day is a sister song to The Crunge.

Hey hey what can I do, was not on the coda album. It was the flip side to the immigrant song and it got AirPlay in the 70s. I know because I played it.
I believe that the vocal effect from hats off is done from Robert singing into a hollow body electric guitar. There's an earlier version of the song where you hear him say hold on a second let me try this.
I think it was the perfect song to in the album. It was nothing but stolen licks and stolen lyrics. They were paying homage to their Blues heroes. It's the sort of song where you either get it or you don't
