Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
*Solid, **Fastly.Cool** and gets the job done. For rooms where window-mounted air conditioning is not an option, this works very well. Easy set up, rapid cooling, and great design.*
I followed the instructions and my portable air unit exploded. My house went up in flames, and I am now living on the streets of LA. Very informative video, thank you!
A ton of dust and hair have gotten past my filters, honestly the filters looked clean even though the radiators were filthy. How do you remove the plastic backing? I have taken out all the screws but it still won’t budge
Hey Michael. To clean mold from the intake of your portable LG A/C, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the air conditioner and unplug the power cord. 2. Open the suction grille at the rear to access the air filter. 3. Remove the air filter and clean it with a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush. If heavily soiled, wash it in water using a neutral detergent. Do not use hot water over 40℃(104℉). 4. Clean the intake area with a slightly damp cloth soaked in water and tightly squeezed. 5. To prevent mold growth, ensure the intake area is arid before reassembling the unit. For more questions, private message us on social media @LGUSSupport. We're just a DM away! ^David
@@LGUSA Wow I didn't expect such a quick response. Sorry I might not have been specific enough, I meant out take / exhaust. I see mold when I look down into the fan from the top where the air blows out on the fins and on the spinning wheel, that area seems harder to get to and not accessible from the rear without opening the entire unit up correct?
Hey Michael. We want to help clean any mold in your portable LG A/C. We want to make sure we understand the part of the portable A/C unit the mold is in. The video does not identify which specific model is being shown. It's avideo tutorial for models: #LP1419IVSM, #LP0818WNR, #LP1018WNR, & #LP1218GXR as models that use the same air filter that is showing in the video...^Ivan
Sadly this easy to clean areas won’t do the deep cleaning where their is mold! We cleaned the filters every other day to be safe! Last year when we turned ours on you could smell mildew! We decided just cleaning the filters isn’t enough, you need to take the back panel off, and you will be shocked at the mildew there!!!! I’m OCD when it comes to cleaning and sad to say only a professional cleaning will get that job done!!!! How sad as this product has been just what two senior citizens needed when it’s 86 inside! The unit works ‘great’ still after 13 years! But the smell of mildew is disgusting, I’ve even wondered if spraying a Lysol product would help???? LG please help!!!!!
Can I ask what model you're describing this issue with? I acquired mine through my uncle and I have no idea how old it is. I'm about to attempt cleaning the filter but I couldn't see any easy way to detach the whole back panel
I have had mine for about a year!! My filters are spotless clean, but inside it is a disaster! Everything is covered with mold. Have no idea how to clean it inside. Did you clean yours? If yes, could you share with me how did you do it?
Tetiana Palok we took the whole machine apart!!!! But due to the design or build, we were not able to get the inside where the coils are as clean as we would have liked!
I know it's been 3yrs but for what it's worth it would probably be less expensive to buy a new AC than it would be to replace the part. A few bent fins won't hurt

To rid of the red light indicator after cleaning the filter, press the MODE button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep and the red light turns off.
Thank you!!! This really helped.
Thanks
Thank You, Very Much, I lost my Owner's Manual and have been trying to shut that Red Light Off for a Month !!!
It worked but it’s still not blowing clean air after I cleaned it
THANK YOU!!!!!
To get the red light to turn off for the clean filter after cleaning the manual says to hold the down arrow button. It worked on ours.
thank you, i couldn’t figure out why after cleaning and taking out the excess water it wouldn’t turn off. this worked!(:
Saved my life. I thought I was doing something wrong 🙂
This works on mine also thanks for the tip

The lg lp1419ivsm 14000 watt is insanely good. Love all the features and the app is super simple to use. It cools my condo quickly. Its fantastic!!😃
Whats considered a mild detergent to use on filters? Dawn???

Has anyone had to go beyond the filters and clean other parts of this AC unit?
A ton of dust and hair have gotten past my filters, honestly the filters looked clean even though the radiators were filthy.
How do you remove the plastic backing? I have taken out all the screws but it still won’t budge
This was great. I hadnt cleaned my filters in probably 3 years lol
whoopsie
❤️
How do i take off the front grille? Or the front part
Where can I buy replacement filters??
How do I reset the filter light? I cleaned the filter but it's still lit up.
Where can I purchase replacements!?!?!
What if you only use the unit like 3 hrs a day ,,its not all the time ,,when should I clean the filter?
But how do you clean mold out of the intake?

theres green residue on my unit where the smaller filter is. what could that be?
Hi, can I add to the exterior another thin pre filter or carbon filter?
Mine smells like socks! Is there anyway to get rid of this?
This could be mold from inside the unit, make sure to open the drain plug from the bottom and remove any water from inside
What is the portable vacuum being used in this video?

AC still gives off a weird odour when the compressor is not kicked in. Any solutions?

If you’ve had the same portable air conditioner for over a decade it may be time to buy a brand new one, not made to last forever.

I have the Model LP0817WSR 8,000 btu and i detached the two filters to check for cleaning but were fine and attached them back into place easily
I have had mine for about a year!! My filters are spotless clean, but inside it is a disaster! Everything is covered with mold. Have no idea how to clean it inside.

What can I do if my filter is missing?
If the fins are bent, is there anything we can do ? Or does the part need replaced? Thanks
I know it's been 3yrs but for what it's worth it would probably be less expensive to buy a new AC than it would be to replace the part. A few bent fins won't hurt
This does not help with the stinky feet smell coming out. I don't see a way to give it a deep clean for the stinky smell
Does this method also work for the LP0817WSR model as well?

Can I use a cotton swab to clean my LG fins?? I don't have a vacuum. Do I just power off and ran??
Same! Hopefully they reply to your comment
