Seeing Butters' dad get the crap beaten out of him with him crying out "NNOOOOOO!" at the end when Butters became ungroundable was funny and satisfying emotionally for me.
he deserves it for abusing kids that aren't even his. even for a show that has parents that do worse things *cough* , Ms Broflovski), that is just inexcuseable. Just because you just met someone doesn't mean you're an acomplice.
And so the power of Butters' dad to ground Butters and everyone else was forever broken! FREEDOM!!! /happy crowds knock over statues of Butters' Dad posed in a "You're grounded!" pose like it's the end of the Cold War or the end of "Return of the Jedi"!/
If South Park were even remotely realistic, Butters would have gone to a foster home A LONG TIME AGO. Hell, half the kids on the show probably would have.
Not too sure about the other kids. Kenny has a little sister who actually has a shot at a bright future, and his parents don't mistreat him (although they seem neglectful), Kyle loves his family and doesn't get mistreated, Cartman has his mom who is under his thumb and supplies him with food and snacks, I don't see anything too dysfunctional about Stan's family (other than Randy getting drunk off his ass a lot), Token and his family are very well off and probably the perfect family, haven't noticed anything wrong with Craig, Jimmy, Timmy, or Wendy's families. Although Tweek would probably be better off in a foster home, his parents make him test all of the coffees constantly, which obviously fucks him up. I don't know much about Clyde. I think there was some issue but I forgot what it was.
Also it's highly likely that Tweek's parents spike their coffee with a little something extra to give it that addictive zing that brings people back for more, despite it not being particularly good.
I know. That's why I reckon they spike the stuff, possibly knowingly, since you beat up drug dealers when you go to pick up the secret ingredient from the manufacturer, who just so happens to work out of a makeshift chem-lab in the garage at Kenny's house.
I can see why Butters should be sent to a foster home since his parents are borderline abusive to him as for other families. The Broflovskis: Sure, Sheila can get easily agitated but she doesn't take it out on her children like the Stotches do. If anything, she's more of an overprotective mother rather than an abusive one. The Cartmans: Liane pretty much gives Eric whatever he wants and just does anything she can to be his friend so he won't just abandon her when he's 18. The Marshs: Sure Randy ends up in a whole load of crazy shenanigans and drinks way too much alcohol but he hasn't done anything that would qualify sending Stan and Shelly to foster homes. The McCormicks: I do agree that the McCormick children should be sent to a foster home since their parents seem to be very neglectful of them. Other families like the Blacks, the Donovans, the Testaburgers and the Tuckers seem to be normal on the surface so there wouldn't be any need to send Token, Clyde, Wendy or Craig to a foster home. Tweek however should definitely be sent to a foster home since his parents pretty much force feed him coffee with cocaine in it which is likely the cause of his spastic behaviour and could end up killing him at a young age. So apart from Butters, the McCormicks and Tweek, the children are perfectly safe with their parents.
In the last game, Butters could heal you by patting you on the shoulder. Here, you "unground" him by patting him on the shoulder. It's a nice little detail.
