Memento - Documentary

Memento is a dance performance based on the non-event.
Like in the Beckettian masterpiece, Waiting for Godot, tension is created by the succession of hopes that can’t find a concrete outlet. Thus, in the same way, in life, every moment is the waiting for something definitive which we eventually find out to be fragmented and subjective, once we think we have achieved it.
In the choreography, performers experience this waiting and, in search for a definitive answer - whether divine or not - to their existential condition, they seek comfort from each other, they challenge each other, or, as in a chorus, they all tend toward the same point.
At the end, the destination of their journey will be realised in the memory (memento means, precisely, “remember”) of these relationships and their feelings, and the same destination will turn into a ritual moment, a sacred, and thus eternal, act.

Un lavoro davvero intenso e viscerale. Non ho avuto ancora modo di vedere Memento dal vivo, ma in parte sento di averlo vissuto grazie a questo documento. Gran bel lavoro❤
