As amazing as this is, it is also quite sad. 1000 years of history ends a few months after this recording, and everyone in this video is dead. Even the archway at 0:30 is gone.
Old recordings have that weird effect. There's a film of Frenchmen from the 1890s having a snowball fight, and it seems really surreal to know that no matter how similar to us the people in the film are, they, along with their children and grandchildren and probably great-grandchildren are all gone. It makes them seem more human, less like abstract people that once existed, and more like someone you could imagine sitting down with and having a coffee with. ruclips.net/video/0VjwkwIszFI/видео.html
@@WaclawNietzsche Thanks! I saw it said that it was never performed publicly, but I assume that this was perhaps recorded beforehand or to rally support during the uprising, very cool! One of my favorite anthems for sure.

Chinese monarchies doesn't work like western ones. The Qing lost the Mandate of Heaven, their house can't rule anymore, nor the Ming, nor the Jin, nor the Yuan...
hello I wonder if there is still anyone in China that still know the lyrics. As in if there was a small cell of royalists in China that have this as their anthem.
Fun fact: This song is older than most of the people playing Roblox.
All generations because this capture in 1911
but im chinese and I play roblox is that acceptable
Plot twist: roblox player are mostly older then fortnite players
I wanna see the minority of people who play Roblox that are born before 1911.
ur not wrong

only 260ish years of Qing dynasty, if you talking about the monarchy system, it was 2000ish years
The fact this was recorded in 1911 probably makes t the first ever recorded voice of Chinese people singing.
There is older records
I must say this anthem sounds good ...Loved it
My mom’s side is of half Chinese descent due to them immigrating to Guerrero, Mexico back in 1910-1939. Makes me feel proud ngl
Amazing song!
So searching the internet, is this recording actually from 1911? It seems to be the only one around and it seems like it could be that old
Yes, it's real newsreel

At 0:30, does that archway in the back still exist? And what city is it in? I assume Peking but I'm not sure.
