Sad to say, these scams work because people are so desperate to seek an easy office job they can do at home while being paid a huge sum of money. Get rich quick n ez scams. The reality is that you've got to put in the work and experience into those positions, which people don't want to really do.

This is the Extreme Political Correctness or Californian ideology. The all world do not understand those type of "movement" from RUclips.
Liberty of expression and as well disliking something is part of the human process to improve ourselves.
"avoiding" the truth (here as an example: Doing/Saying something on your RUclips video) is really wrong for the creators and the users.
I feel that this platform (RUclips) is simply getting a cultural "revamp" and pushing more "stupid" and "main media/Do not use your brain" more common in our recommendation.
But isn't the issue with the FANG's? Having a better control on the people who watch/use your tools instead of understanding their users.
let's hope the web 3.0 with better decentralization tools will help the society to have more freedom and a better judgment coupled with critical thinking and more tools/education to understand the layers of stupidity in a video.

I get that. It’s hard because I feel like being raised on the internet was the perfect environment to create a bunch of mindless people pleasers (talking about myself here). Everything is explicitly designed to matter to us and affect us right in the monkey brain, where raw emotion is more powerful than logic. The like/dislike system is especially powerful because it’s a quantifiable way to play on our biological instinct as pack animals to conform and be liked. So if you notice something is wrong, and say something, and are publicly bashed, downvoted/disliked into oblivion, and receive what feels like an endless wave of hate in front of the entire world, you will be VERY scared to do that again. First you just stop calling things out. Then, as the instinct to stay with the group opinion to keep yourself safe takes over, you eventually stop thinking for yourself at all and just look to what others are saying to decide what you should think. After a while, you just stop noticing when things are wrong at all, other people’s opinions become your own. And suddenly you, who used to be so sharp and savvy, as well as everyone else, have become very easy to manipulate, as you no longer listen to your own opinions and instincts, but only to what others are saying. I believe this was designed on purpose to make us easier to capitalize on by big companies. But even if it’s just an accidental byproduct of how apps and websites are designed, it still definitely has very serious effects. Especially since the pandemic and having spent so much more time online, I’ve definitely noticed a huge increase in the amount of scams, bullshit, and misinformation I simply haven’t noticed due to a lack of critical thinking; stuff that a few years ago I would have NEVER fallen for. It’s definitely hard to unlearn, and takes time. But videos like this help a lot for me to recalibrate my intuition so that in the future, I can trust myself more and be better at noticing when something seems wrong.

I love that you called people out for pimping themselves online without substance. I have been on the internet since ... mmm.. 1994. Started making my own websites in 1995 - desktop themes, screensavers, etc. My enthusiasm about the entire WWW experience solely existed due to the ability to learn new and cool things about coding and the internet for free. Also, the biggest bonus was sharing experiences and learning all these new things via message boards, chats, emails with others who were as intrigued as I was. The fact that information is so polluted today is very sad to me. It really diminishes the potential of social interaction on the internet.

The certificates apparently take around 6 months to complete, and while Google doesn’t charge, the e-learning platform they’re on certainly does. I have not taken one, but I’m just doing research on them and what I’ve gathered so far is that these certificates are definitely the basics to get your foot in the door. They’re not the same or better than a degree, and rather complement it since most of the classes taught at a college tend to be outdated

Finally, a rational take on the hype surrounding tech certifications.
I've been working in tech since the mid 1990s--I've worked at a helpdesk, as a systems administrator and as a software developer.
Having a career in tech means that you are committed to a lifetime of learning. So I use 1-2 hours a day (especially during downtime at work) to study for tech certifications (and I get my employer to reimburse me for learning expenses--as they like their employees to obtain certs as much as possible). I recently became certified as a AWS DevOps Professional and my manager is now pushing me to go for a new internal position that is opening.

No shortcuts for me, sadly, only thing they have in common with programmers is the fact that they like to shortcuts. Can agree with this to a point. So big takeaway is if you end up at a Google Partner or for Google themselves these certs will hold merit and value heavily. We all know this is ridiculous to buy into a companies training platform in order to essentially attempt to work for them or their affiliates. It's deceitful yes, but I do see the merit especially for those who are unsure of going to college, trade school, coding bootcamp, etc. I look at it as a free intro to higher education and I think that's amazing. Just sad that people can't see the risks.

Honestly I feel like the Google certificates doesn't work if you're not already experienced and computers or in ads. Especially with the mom and pop shops most of these shops ain't really making a lot of money and they be hesitant to hire a newbie who only have a certificate most of the mom and pop shops don't even need Google some of them are already popular due to word of mouth or other methods. Also they will actually hire one of their co-workers to do the social media marketing for them. It's best to just get a college degree.

Prefect point, I’m in the trenches and this couldn’t be more true.. you WILL not be landing Boeings and Walmarts. Sally’s nursery down the street who’s a friend of your mom is where it starts. You bend over backwards for them and push for Referrals

Thank you! I’m a lead technical recruiter & people ask me daily which one of these certificates they should get. When they don’t realize that certificates like this alone aren’t enough to land an amazing job

Ma'am what one must have apart from having certificates in order to land a job, providing the fact that the person doesn't have a computer science degree.

Thank you for this video, it was the most honest and brutal piece out there to save others from simply trying to find an easy way out.
I did follow one of these videos, for selling on etsy, they all missed out a point on actually investing your money, none of these videos are about helping you, it's about helping them make more money.

Love this! When I wanted to branch out into speaking at companies about implementing disability inclusion programs I went straight to the source: Cornell University. I dropped a small load of cash but received absolutely top-notch training. I'm now able to speak with authority on the subject because I took the time to properly educate myself; just being disabled didn't make me that authority. Props to you, man!

That’s a really good point. There’s so much to learn about past & current systems, and there are always things we haven’t experienced, even within the same disability. I’ve learned some ways to advocate for myself at work that are much more effective than anything I could’ve thought of based on my experience.
