4:24 the fact that unupgraded Karambit gets the animations of Reaver/Champions/Ion is interesting, so it's a new knife and you can use old animations, like 2in1 type deal. Cool
That's just riot's way of being greedy and forcing people to spend 10 more RP for each skin's base variant, that's why they faced backlash and stopped with 40 RP upgrades.
Btw, you don't need to "spam" inspect to trigger the rainbow effect on the knife. In the skin preview in-game, it says press inspect twice to trigger it.

lowkey they sold pretty hard on the sheriff, they coulda made it have the neo frontier animations and have the rainbow effect when you inspect it like the karambit. still one of my favorite collections by far though

For people unaware, the buddy currently doesnt change the outline color on the old RGX stuff.
Should have checked if the older buddies change with these and this changes with the older one
