THANK YOU Soooo Much for creating this super useful video on opening the battery door for the GoPro 10 oi Vey! that was a huge challenge! esp since i've got nails that i don't want to break. i now just use your method with the side of my finger so I won't break a nail -- but the technique to push DOWN and make sure you're not touching that other part = PRICELESS!!!!

Thanks for posting Tom! However, my battery feels a bit loose in that space. I have a brand new GoPro 10 and when I open that door, sometimes the battery pops out of place. Is this normal? It does affect the charging seems like at times when it's not completely sitting there. Thank you!
It should fit pretty snug I mean when I turn mine upside down it does not fall out I have to pull it may have to talk to GoPro customer support and have them send you a new battery thanks for watching

Thanks for this video. I must say though, that the way you are doing it does NOT work for me without a tremendous amount of force. There's an easier way, that I saw on another video: You push DOWN on that bottom lip. It appears to be designed to do so. THEN you can easily grab that lip at the bottom and open it up. No force. No screwdrivers.
My door is stuck closed and I can’t get it to open. The long part of the door is stuck out on the sides. It didn’t go in place all the way. The bottom is latched and I can’t get it to open. I’m losing my patience and want to just throw it at the wall now. Lol. I can get this to open.
There’s a little indentation and you’ve got a push that down hard. You may need a little tool to do that if you can’t get your finger in there, but it should pop open.

@@TomLeeman I think they made the new models harder to open. I didn’t have issues with the 7, but the 12 is held closed like a vise. I found that I can open it if I use a cloth to cushion the pressure on my thumbnail.
That’s interesting when you push it down it should pop off and it should pull up especially since you paid 500 bucks for the thing you may have to send it back and get a new one good luck thanks for watching

You were very fast to turn the camera, and you only showed the power button for 1 second at 1:18, but if you pause the video there you will see there is another lip with what looks like a smaller door there under the power butoon. Maybe a headphone jack, an HDMI or something? Or just design feature? @@TomLeeman

Yes to go pros are really expensive and they’ve over engineered them this one. You really have to push hard on that one side to pop open that door here to get your finger thumb in there and drop it down for it to open and it is a little bit of a pain in the butt Good luck. Thanks for watching.

I used a silver paint pen to mark pull on the latch., for the next time I forget again.

It is a terrible design as if they are intentionally setting people up to break it. So disgusted by them formthis stupid design flaw.
