This is somewhat great; Paul was firmly in the driver's seat as sales were going up, and if they weren't the biggest, it was looking like there was going to be a KISS, after all.
I recall a piece of this (the "steel hittin' steel" part) airing on MTV right around that time.
It was in a special about NY music. I think Lou Reed was interviewed as well, among others.

Is this date legit? Back in Nov '84, the band was touring in Europe promoting the newest album, Animalize.
I saw clips of this on MTV in late 1984, hosted by Karla DeVito. So, it was definitely from Animalize-era.
It sure seems like it was recorded in September 1984 before the European leg.

God, how I miss this time period. Best KISS lineup, IMO: Paul, Gene, Eric, & Bruce (Mark St. John didn't last long). The only thing I noticed during every tour (Lick It Up through Hot In The Shade) Paul always spoke of a woman approaching Gene & carrying a baby, always saying it was his. That go so boring and redundant; pathetic actually.
I use to have that your on vhs. I remember that very line about Gene. then Paul "trying" to do a solo. lol

Out of all the guys in Kiss, Gene Simmons looks the worst without his makeup also he has that bushy hair. I saw him on Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? and his girlfriend/wife was in the audience and so were his son and daughter.
