I have been following Mike and Jeff for almost 10 years,.. some of their very best performances are their videos posted from as far back as 15 years ago at the Pizzeria in SLC. They would get this back of the room corner booth that gave the the space out of the way to set up the video camera , they would meet once a month on Wednesdays to practice and perform live. When you would see people pass in front of the camera, it was because the location was close to the bathroom. It was a place close to the college and kids there were more focused on getting pizza. It was never advertised that they were a music artists giving a performance. They were just practicing and honing their skills and managed to make the videos to get posted on RUclips. 10 years ago they had less than 30K followers now well over 400K. Some interesting background info on Mike and Jeff, both have law degrees, Mike was a public defender and Jeff a county prosecutor in SLC, for the daily jobs and livelihoods. After playing and gaining ground in the music business, Mike moved to Denver, and gave up day job for music full time then started booking performances all over the country and the world, in what would be considered smaller venues. Their covers on so many iconic songs, are nothing short of mind blowing, spot on perfection in vocals and incredible level of guitar talent.

I've seen a lot of Mike's videos, but I hadn't seen this one before. I watched the amazing Stairway to Heaven with Jeff last week when it was released and, after watching that, this one appeared in my "up next" list. I'm glad it did, because this is awesome. There is something special going on with Mike and Jeff. All of Mike's performances are good but his best ones, in my opinion, are with Jeff. You guys should do an album together.

Well said (as well as played/sung Mike). Its really good to see more attention being given to depression and the overall mental "well being" of people in todays society. God knows with everything society has to deal with, "Everybody Hurts" at one time or another. Those that seem perfectly fine on the "outside" are sometimes the one's that may struggle the worst. With that said, if we can just slow down and take the time to ask the simple question, "is everything ok?", to even our closest friends, that may be all it takes to spark a conversation to possibly save their life as well as save their family and friends from dealing with the loss of their loved one.
Never been a REM fan, but i've always heard, connected, and really appreciated the absolute truth to this song. Everyone thinks that their darkest hour is so unique, when in reality...it's just not true. It may be unique to you. You may feel/believe it is, but there are thousands of us who have been right where you are and felt just as helpless. If you feel alone...if you feel your situation in exclusively yours....listen to this song again and again if need be, until it sinks in. Dig in and hold on...brighter days are ahead it just may take awhile...but brighter days ARE ahead.
