I don't get why people are complaining about the second voice. It's the harmony. There harmony all throughout the song. You're singing as the main lead voice, then the vid provides your harmony. It's actually perfect..?

Exactly right. First time I tried to sing it I thought the second voice was shit, second time I tried it I actually sang it correctly and realised it's perfect. Moral of the story: get over yourself and try some singing lessons.
Omg you guys actually dont know what a harmony is. Check it online. I sing and i know its perfect. For the people complaining its called a "harmony" where 2 or more voices sound at different pitch to produce a better sound. Search it up youl find it.
I'm using this video to practice the harmony (second voice). Excellent job! I was not able to find the melody by myself, it's really tricky.

The backup vocal should be there thats how it is in the original song, its the harmony. If you can't sing it, its probably because its too hard for you. I used to struggle alot with harmony and sometimes I would change my voice to the second harmony, it takes practice! So I understand but it really should be there, just focus on your voice and then listen to it together it sounds perfect.
Just to clear things up, the backing vocals on this version are not out of tune and not flat. They are harmonies and they are not supposed to sound the same as the leads. These backings are ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE BACKINGS OF THE STUDIO VERSION. If you're having a hard time singing the lead to this, that means you either are tone deaf or you need to practize harmonizing some more. Either way quit whining because this version is spot on.

I'm no professional singer or musician cause I'm 15 but I've been able to tell if people were off key better than most choir teachers I've been around and have been playing the piano for 10 years. I mean believe what you want since you're the professional but I'm absolutely positive the background singer is not off-key.

I sing in an acapella group and the harmony really helps me find my notes and it sounds really pretty if you're focused on your part. I'm guessing that you guys don't have a lot of experience with harmonies and having to keep going with your own part because acapella singing makes you a pro at that
this background is perfect. It's soooo nice! People who say they can not sing it, because of the background, have no talent to sing... so go and search for an version for "beginners"

It's not off pitch but the tone makes my ears bleed. But you are right. I can harmonize with it just fine and I'm an amateur 15 year old singer. If a 15 year old ammateur can harmonize perfectly to this, a professional would be able to.

I am no professional singer and have a really horrible voice but I can STILL harmonize with this perfect second voice. Maybe all those "professionals" here should spend half a year in a decent choir ;)

Night Core I can do it, you can probably do it too. Most of us can. But that background vocal is really really bad. But you can't complain about it because stupid people think you can't harmonize. Then they boost their confidence for nothing. It's like being proud you can out run guys from special olimpics.

I'm no expert either and the second voice is just fine. I've been able to tell if peoples pitches are off better than most choir teachers and I've been playing piano for 10 years. I'd say that this background singer is annoying as hell and scoops way too much but it's not off pitch. These "professionals" don't know what they're talking about.
Took me about 25 recitals to get my pitch down on that one hard line in Jar of Hearts. Almost this entire song has me fighting the backup singer. Very challenging karaoke song. I love this song too much to give up on it, though.

actually I have a great sense in harmony and I can't tell you I have been singing this song since I was 3 and his vocals are a bit off, they are a bit low and not in tune and the pauses aren't there.

Well, I've been singing this song since it first was released. It was one of my favorites back then.
And I can tell you that, after years of hearing this song over and over again from the beginning, the harmonies are spot on perfect.
They aren't "a bit low" and they are certainly in tune. And the pauses are dead accurate as well.
This one is well done.

I know this song pretty darn well (on vox and gut) and those background vox sound fine to me. If you sing the lead vox how they are supposed to be sung then the background voice will sound fine. It's not meant to be heard without you singing the lead vox (or somebody). That's how karaoke works.

Erm guys, the backing vocals are the harmony. This song is originally done with 2 voices, so the backing track is the 2nd voice. You sing the melody, and it sounds fabulous.

@theheidis lmao! If you listen to this song on the radio you will find that there are 2 voices- the harmony and the melody. This is the karaoke version where the melody part is up to you to sing. The harmony sung in this version was done perfectly. It's YOU who cannot sing it correctly which makes you hear a bad voice coming back to you. But the truth is, the bad sound is coming from you and you do not know how to sing a 2 part harmony.
