@@craigs5118 I'm going to have to get something. The t mobile supplied gateway won't stay locked onto a band. Keeps cycling through all the bands on 5g. When it loses connection with 5g, all data stops, even though it's still connected to LTE. This is the third gateway that's doing the same thing, I'm sure it's the tower. That tower has been upgraded to SA 41, sa25 and SA 71, but t mobile won't open up the gateway to SA. If I can lock onto sa 25, Itll work great. Or at least b2 and n71. Something is wrong with the N41 radio on the tower but t mobile won't even consider it.

Just hooked up my Chester Cheetah. The band locking and network modes made the difference for me and were worth the money. My tower is over 5 miles away and has only bands B2, B12, B71, and N71. B12 and B71 are quite slow. The Nokia I think was always aggregating B2 and N71, but B2 was dragging it down., especially upload. Choosing Network Modes NR5G+LTE and SA on the Cheetah forced it to use only N71 without B2 and improved things quite a lot. Not blazing fast (very rural area) but makes TMHI usable again. Thanks for all the videos that made it easy to dial it in.

Very happy with this router. I have T-Mobile Home Internet and live in the fringiest of rural zones. My phone barely gets n71 SA in the window, but everything else is a jumble of b12, b2, b66, with unserviceable signal numbers. Finally, I can lock on to n71 SA with this router, and with an external antenna I typically get 40 down 10 up. With our T-Mobile trashcan, we were lucky to get 20 down 5 up, but that got much much worse as T-Mobile started disabling b71 towers (or upgrading them to n71? not sure what they did but they're gone now), ending at about 15 down,

After rewatching this outstanding video several times, this morning I turned on IPV6 per tip from this video on my Cheeta and I noticed my down doubled from 60ish to now 110ish! It was simple to do following the instructions. I am on N71 NSA with TM with 5G blue led on. I am 0.85 linear miles from my cell tower. Very happy with this speed. Looking forward to N41 hopefully coming to my small town soon. N41 is in several communities around me so it will be fun to see how that UC band pumps out. I will probably take a road trip with my inverter and Cheeta (like Nate did in his other video) just because I’m curious and can’t wait to see the full potential of this outstanding product.

@@NaterTater So of course the week I swap to the Cheetah is the week TMO is "upgrading" the local towers. Service had been weak for several weeks (avg 13-14D/1-4U) and got worse after switching router/gateway. As in service would drop completely at time during the day reguardless of which tower I pointed antennas. For now looks like 120D/44U with only B2 & N71 NSA. The closed tower has had N25 SA activated recently but hasn't stablized yet. I'll test that again later.

I bought the Quectel CAT19-RM520N-GL version a couple weeks ago mostly for the ability to do band locking and for the external antenna capability. This was for my TMHI 5G service. I had a lot of trouble with crazy roller coaster speeds, buffering and frequent disconnects from my VoIP service. I was noticing not so good connections before this. Alfredo spent a lot of time with me trying different things. Then I noticed my Deco M5 giving me poor connectivity to the router. I replaced the cable and saw immediate improvement but was still seeing roller coaster speeds and VoIP disconnects. I ordered the Cudy M1800 to try in place of the Deco. Ever since, the service has been solid for days now without any reboots. The customer service I received from Alfredo at Chester Tech repairs was phenomenal.

I was having latency problems and disconnecting and reconnecting issues with the Cheetah router. I switched from 5G-NSA to 5G-SA and that seemed to fix the issue. I now have a steady connection to Band N71 with N41 as a secondary. I'm thinking with pure 5G and no 4G core it's helping with the signal stability. Hopefully this connection is consistent throughout the day. Currently, I turned off all band locking in order to let the system do what it wants. So far so good.

Thanks for another great video. Cheater is absolutely the best router to go! Guys at Chester are second to none in terms of support. I have been using it for my T Mobile Home Internet services for couple of months now, it just been great! Especially with the fix on IPv6, now I have the constant performance with average 400+ down, 30 up, unloaded ping around 25, with 5G-SA. I played around with DMZ option to mimic bridge, but the performance is not great. Keep in mind, just because the DMZ and transparent NAT, it did not eliminate double NATing in this case technically. Given Chester router uses Mediatek 710 processor, it actually does pretty good job for routing and traffic management. So, my suggestion would be using own mesh router for AP setup to maximize the performance. True, by turning own router as AP will lose some router’s function such as anti virus, parent controls from router manufacturers, but most of firewall function are available on Chester router, just need spend some time to set it up. For those who needs parent controls absolutely, there is always the option to add a managed switch into home network to do the same. Just some of my thoughts to share. Thanks again for the video.

Original setup was a t-Mobile Nokia and Ausus RT-87U router in AP mode, worked great with my IP POE and wifi cameras.
Now the Nokia has been replaced with the Cheetah , and I changed the LAN IP address on the Cheetah to the default (192.168.12.1) Nokia gateway, everything worked.
Note: Did not have to change any setting on my camera's ( they use a static ip).
I am questioning this setup. Should I use the default Cheetah default IP (192.168.100.1) change all camera's settings (requires an manual-press button to factory reset).
I have tried to change the camera's setting by software changes but can not get them to connect on the new LAN IP (Cheetah)
Everything else works fine, Just wasnt looking forward to getting the ladder back out for the 4 camera's.
Thank you in advance for any help!

If this router can aggregate more than one 5G band, do you think it would give me better consistency? Hey Nate, I used your code for the Cheetah. I've been using it for about two weeks now. Connection stability is 100% now because of it.
I wish my area had better towers. I feel they've oversold the area because the ISP options in a town of 20,000 are limited. $100 for 100Mbps cable or $60 for 3Mbps DSL. When I first joined I easily got 300-400Mbps download and now everyday of the week I barely get 80Mbps be it n41 or n71.
Do you have any thoughts on why signal would be worse though during morning and evenings? My signal light turns orange(On the Cheetah) only in the morning and evenings, meaning low signal strength, even though my connection speed is still the same.

@@emor7267 the KVD21 has about triple the broadcast coverage above the Cheetah and I'd say about 20-30% better receiving power, which is truly odd considering all the external antennas on the Cheetah.
However, the Cheetah antennas can be linked to outdoor antennas for fringe sites (where that's MUCH more difficult on the KVD21 trashcan) and of course, it's really all about the network settings. Tmobile has locked you out in their stocker from even basic things like separating naming on the 2.4 vs 5 and time limits on connected devices. The Cheetah gives you far more granular control, but it's a weaker transmitting device and in a saturated urban environment, it's not faster with its stock antennas. Hope that helps.

Let’s make sure I have this right. ALL devices connected through WiFi TTL Packets are forced out as 64 as my routers IMEI is set to my iPhone and 64 is the Time To Live for IPhones. If I plug in an external router, which creates another hop in packets which bumps it down from 64 to 63, which no longer mimics the actual cellular use and the isp thinks it’s a hotspot and counts it as hotspot data? In order for the external device to be treated as the devices on wifi, a DMZ has to be in place that pretty much allows or forces the external router to take all the same protocols as the Chester Cheetah which keeps the TTL at 64? I may have used the wrong wording, but this was the best way for me to explain how I understand this process.
