    Great vid, very clever approach, let the guitar do the talking , great playing and lots of comparison scope and you didn't say , "hey what's up" like every other fool. Absolute winner.
    The Vox tone and character in the high end distortion of your leads stands right out. Beautiful.

    Cry baby and Ibanez Vh10 my favourite! The first one if you love the classic "sweet" wah tone , the second one if you need a more "sparkle" , "versatile" tone , fantastic with distortion!

    Why is no one here talking about the Ibanez WH10?? Thing sounds awesome! Fantastic range and smooth tone sweep, not too noisy as to take away from the True Tone of the guitar

    Xotic XW-1 the cleanest and most comfortable sized wah, perfect

  • @nostro1001
    @nostro1001 3 года назад +7

    Likely the Xotic...not to mention the size is ideal and can be heavily tweaked.

    Dunlop and Vox for traditional sound at one end of the spectrum, xotic for unconventional wah clarity at the other end. All 3 were standouts, IMO. My best guess is that the intro "theme" was a Dunlop.

  • @wordofmouth7679
    @wordofmouth7679 3 года назад +12

    The Morley seems to be incredibly responsive across the sweep range. The Dunlop is also very consistent and pleasing in each setting. I am a budda bud-wah player for 12+ years and just got the John petrucci wah which I also love. So many great tones from which to choose with wahs and every other kind of pedal!

    • @timbervandenhul9383
      @timbervandenhul9383 2 года назад +1

      I have the Morley Bad Horsey 2 and it is very responsive but somehow it never sounds just right. Also you can't set it to a fixed position, which you may see as a positive or negative.

    • @JoMaMaz
      @JoMaMaz 5 месяцев назад

      I had a Budda Bud-Wah pedal years ago, and it the only one I ever had. As I've gotten back into electric guitar again, I'm looking at wah pedals (clearly), and seeing your comment, I've been hearing people mentioning the JP wah. As an owner of both the Budda and JP, can you let me know how they compare?

    I have an early Fulltone Clyde from 1998 and I love it. To me, the Clyde Deluxe here also sounds the best and the most vocal out of these. It stands slightly apart from the rest. I also have a Jeffery Teese RMC 1 wah from the late 90’s I like. There is a knack to using a wah correctly & musically yes.

    Strange, how Xotic, Ibanez are distorting sound a little bit more than others. Could be useful sometimes. Cry Baby is my favorite. Once I had Morley Bad Horsie and it was very difficult to use it - it needs precise control and still sounds strange. I don't recommend it

    I like the Morley electro-optical approach (I HATE scratchy pots), but I prefer that vintage Dunlop/Vox tone.
    Something like a Dunlop/Vox-style wah pedal with an electro-optical (no pot!) approach could be a SERIOUS game-changer!

      I went Xotic xw-1 and have a VOX845 and not that it matters yet John Mayer made the switch in 2019 for the XW1. I wanted it because it has true bypass and no tone suck with buffering for fuzz. So worked for me in my needs. I did like how the ibanez W10 sounded overall.

    I think the Xotic stood out, and would have expected more from the Fulltone, but it has a lot of possibilities to try out. I have a RMC, Xotic Yellow, Dunlop standard a CEA, but haven´t pulled
    myself together to test them against each other. The Dunlop is under modding and will have a true bypass switch. To me it will be important how my wah works together with a Fuzz.
