I love how he is adapting different bits to different situations. He uses the SW6 bit both here and in his netflix special. It's kinda like a joint universe
Or... He's recycling material from his stand up routine because comedians on MTW regularly do that lol! Like, the producers script it so comics can use their old jokes in the show. James even makes fun of it here by saying it's handy the "random topic" is about houses, as he's just moved house.
There was another time when Tom Allen got mixed up and made a "things you wouldn't hear in Star Wars" joke _before the topic_ had come up lol! He was left embarrassed and was berated by Dara.
It's all planned and scripted, and the comics are told the correct answers before the show. Very little of it is off the cuff.
@@humann5682 i'd assume it's so comedians don't fall about laughing for a joke so much that the show isn't delayed too much, and also if they sprung a topic on them they wouldn't spend ages thinking about answers, and come pre-prepared.
@@humann5682 I wouldn't call it "recycling material", it's more like "promoting his shows". It's usually in the nature of being a comedian to do the same routine in a lot of places
I actually hate it when comedians do tv shows & then start regurgitating material from their act... especially when they’re on there to promote an upcoming tour....

My favourite recent TV show performance was when James told Lorraine Kelly where to go on The Last Leg. Funniest genie ever.
This man is a legitimate legend...I’ve watched all of his stand up and panel/quiz shows he’s on...absolutely love it on task master when he walks in, Alex says hi and James totally blanks him 😂😂😂gets me every time. This man should be our PM.

Not hard to find the house in question if you know what someone looks like, nevermind if you know their name, and you got the street.
The postcode can narrow it down to a few houses on a street.

The best bit was James mocking the format of the so-called stand up challenge. It reminded me of Milton Jones crossing his fingers, hoping for a good one.
Or the perennial Milton Jones bit where he talks about something the previous stand-up mentioned, then says, "Thanks, that doesn't normally work."

I recently discover James Acaster's comedy, and I love it! I have spend so many hours looking up all his appearances on shows(Taskermaster, 8 out of 10 Cats, and Hypothetical(does a great job hosting) Keep up the great work!
