Fun fact. Søren Lerby was pulled off and substituted in 59th minute, because he had a Cup match for Bayern Munich against Bochum back in Germany later that day. So Søren Lerby actually played two matches on the very same day. Now that’s dedication and stamina.

I do remember this match very well.i was 10 years old and in primary school.39 years go the time passed very quick.

I'm Irish, but you have to applaud this magnificent Danish side at the time. The Soviet Union and Denmark were my two favourite sides around then, outside of my Ireland.
We were a beaten docket by then. We had no hope of qualifying as we were too far behind Denmark. You could see the players had given up. A sad end to Eoin Hand's reign. Our chance had gone in 1982.
Denmark were so exciting to watch back then, but they were defensively naive, as they conceded a lot too.

Alle fem mål er seværdige, men Sivebæks overgår dem alle. Og så i den næstfedeste landsholdstrøje, Danmark har haft. Kan huske at jeg havde en.
I øvrigt kan man ganske svagt genkende Tommy Troelsens karakteristiske røst i baggrunden efter det første mål 😄

I watched both games....I said 32 years ago Denmark won 4:1 the people arround laughed, Milan , Elkjaer and Laudrup don't play any more.... it turned out the same...salute from Smederevska Palanka,Serbia

Med det talent kampgejst og vilje undrer jeg mig over at sepp ikke brugte sivebæk noget mere og han spillede i danske liga på det tidspunkt og går ud og leverer en kamp i verdensklasse jeg erindrer faktisk ikke om han var i truppen i mexico utrolig kreativ var dog glad for at han var med i em 92
