Something someone taught le when darning socks: keep a felting tool and cushion handy. Once you’’re done darning, if you don’t want the edges of the hole to curl and fray more, take a bit of time to felt the edges together with the patch. It’ll help to keep those edges in place and ‘merge’ your sock with the patch. A few minutes of stabbing away with a felting tool can save you from getting blisters from curling edges and keeps your toes from stabbing through the hole if it.s at the front of thee sock.
that's an awesome tip! this pair of socks in particular were so kind as to felt right in to the patch after a couple wears, but I've actually used that felting tool trick in the past to tame some ends and edges...I'll have to mention it next time :)
Just picked up my loom today from you in Paris; I spun my first yarn about 5 minutes ago and have decided to use the yarn for my first sock mend! Can’t wait!
wow!! what a whirlwind weekend of new skills. congratulations on your first yarn & darn!! (always happy to see/share photos too if ever you want to send em☺)
they're so unreliable!! t-shirt yarn has been a perfect solution :) a customer also told me they added one of those spring-toggles (like you see sometimes on drawstring) to an elastic & they love that method.
Hi, thankyou so much for sharing your Darning Loom and how to use it. It looks like an ingenious Loom to have. Happy Darning/Weaving Take care and stay safe Love and hugs Jen xx ❣️🫂
always looking! 👀 but i am so happy with our version that just the chance i've had to try out other folks' antique darning looms has been pleasure enough :)

How many versions did “Swift” make?
we basically just have this one version, it's had many iterations but always 14 hooks & square work surface :)
Are they spaced 3mm apart?
i'm going to address this question of spacing in a future video, i realize now that it's a major trouble spot!!
Супер!👍👍👍
