You're right sir, since SB19, i searched for other Ppop groups that existed like UGG, Nitro, Japh Dolls, After 5, and they're all very talented, not to mention that James Reid and Nadine Lustre's Ppop tandem and as solos made millions of viewers even oversees..
This video you've made may be incomplete to mention every Ppop groups that existed, but I truly appreciate this content because I believe your goal is to enlighten fellow Filipinos that PPOP IS NOT COPYING KPOP because it's been existing even before we knew what to call it.
And pop music of Asia didn't even began in Asia itself for as far as I know, because these types of performances we're all crazed about was already introduced to modern world by the west such as the Backstreet Boys and N'sync, to name a few.. and music evolved because it gets inspiration to everything and everyone's music.. NO ONE REALLY OWNS IT.
But I do thank #SB19 so much, not only for their great music and personalities we love, but specifically, for being the trigger, waking up the Filipinos to APPRECIATE AND SUPPORT LOCALS because FILIPINOS HAVE ITS OWN WORLD-CLASS that we SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF.
SexBomb Girls, also, I love the fact that they came first (you must be very proud if this!) as best selling Girl Group before other Asian entered the scene.
COME ON FILIPINOS! WAKE UP!
All Ppop groups now lacking are not talent, but support..

Correct, it was not materialized because it was not supported and agencies who commit themselves for production and kababayan who likes more other pop. Yung mga tao na nagsadabi na kpop copy cut ay ang mga tao na hindi updated or hindi nanonood ng Pilipino pop tapus nang dumating ang Kpop at saka sila manood tapus sadabihin na copy cut
@@zethcao11 it gets frustrating everytime.. though i feel like Filipinos nowadays weren't as rude as before (like how SB19 and others were received poorly), and so new comer-Ppop groups since last year were lucky to be somehow kindly recognised,..
or maybe it's just me..
... because it felt like after SB19 made it to BBHTS, it gets us more excited for other groups to rise and take advantage of the rising era of Ppop..
i hope that by the time SB19 finally disbands (I know this will happen in the future, tho pls not sooner), Ppop industry is very much kicking and loved by Filipinos

You cannot find in other ppop groups the world-class talent that SB19 has. They're legit PPOP KINGS!
I'm not a fact checker, but as far as I can tell, this still serves as an informative primer for anyone interested in getting into PPOP and learning a bit about the genre. So, Viva was in the business for a while. They went from being disillusioned to having their most popular PPOP asset, ALAMAT.

Nakakahanga ang ginawa mo Chuck. You came up with this idea to show your viewers how Ppop really started in our country. This gave us additional informations regarding our Pinoy music world.Marami ang itinatag na Boy & girl groups but only a few were really noticed for few years. Through SB19 efforts to spread our Pinoy music not only in our country but to be known to the world, a lot of PPop group existed showing their talents in singing & dancing as a group too. SB19 became an inspiration to them.Salute ako sa hangarin ng SB19 na makilala din at hangaan ang ating sariling mga Pinoy songs & musics to the world gaya ng nangyayaring paghanga natin sa awitin at tugtog ng ibang bansa gaya ng America, Korea, Japan,etc na kinagigiliwan natin at naging fanatic fans nila kaya ito ay naging malaking tulong sa economic and financial industry nila, nakatulong ito para makilala ang bansa nila, ang culture & tradition ng bansa at kumita cla at umunlad pa lalo. Ninanais ng maraming fans na marating ang bansa nila. Dahil dito, ganon din ang nais at pangarap ng SB19 members na mangyari sa bansa natin.Maging gaya ng mga hinahangaang mga bansa ang magiging hatid ng musikang Pinoy sa bansa at pati sa kabuhayan nating mga Pinoy as a whole kung hangaan din tayo at mamahalin ang ating mga Original Pinoy Music . I first watch your first reaction to SB19's WHAT on all out Sunday last year and I had the same feeling what you felt with SB19 at that time . I always see the thumbnail of their WHAT MV but I just passed by on it. At that time I always watch EZ Mill and reactors reacting to EZ Mill. When I saw ur thumbnail I watch it and after that I subscribed to your channel. I am a silent A'tin and Filipino ako 🇵🇭 Lived in Canada for 18 years now. And silently support SB19 for almost a year now since June 2021. When I saw their WHAT MV that was the time that I became A'tin😊😀

I really love the time nung kasikatan ng Universal Motion Dancer medyo similar sila sa sb19 coz they're singing and dancing at meron silang album called Sige ihataw mo! Wowie is my bias that time, medyo mas marami and dancing nila kaysa singing,and street boys also amazing dance moves by vhong and jhong and Maneuvers also. I love the 90s
I'm glad 4th Impact was included in PPOP, even though years ago, even before SB19, they auditioned in another country to become internationally known. Pero yun nga, dahil expected sa Filipino yung magaling kumanta, di sila masyadong tinignan nationally dito sa PH.🤷🏽♂️ nag rise lang ulit sila kasabay nung comeback nila, and of course because of the golden age of PPOP.🥰
Video aside because kuya chuck did a good job at describing the ppop history until now, but I just wanna say, I an in awe at how kuya chuck was because he started as a hiphop fanboy and reactor but now, he's invested with ppop and instead of investing to other foreign genres, he's hyping our local genre because there's this one group that pave it for the others!! The difference between SB19 and others is that the pride and temperament are only in the performance on stage and they are really humble and kind to the fans.
Plus they don't indulge the inappropriate behavior of their fans. They call them out and remind them to be kind, grateful and humble.
Philippines have the great singers and dancers but we are lacking in promoting it to the global stage. Songs are the primary selling in the PH and not the artists, so when the internet came, it is easy to access any songs from the internet & it affected many music stores. This also happen in Korea that few people are coming to music store to buy a album, then they have the solution of instead selling the music or the song they are selling the artist. They improved the visual & the talent and performance more than the song itself, then the Kpop Idol started.

I still remember growing up with sexbomb music then 2ne1 and GG songs, after that i became kpop stan until sb19 came and currently a fan of them because of their meaningful songs and not going after the mainstream, and I'm really proud that philippines has now a high standard group that made a way to international scenes

In my personal and perspective opionssss with letter s..😂😂😂kahit sino pa ang lumabas n ppop group. S SB19 lng talaga ako n hook .boss chucks ..never akong nag stan o tumangkilik ng filipino songs. More on international songs ang pinapakinggan ko..pero nung nakita ko talaga yung go up dance practice ng SB19..yun na sinubaybayan ko n sila until now ...sobrang meaningful ng mga kanta ng mga lodi kong sb19 2 years nkong proud fan boy here in kuwait .🇰🇼.nakakawala sila ng homesick promise .

Smokey Mountain was an original PPop group in the late 80s and early 90s and they were also a Blueprint of PPop Music.
This is a very informative video. The Rocky Fellers is certainly a revelation for me. Quick correction, though, the Philippines was already an independent nation in the 1960s. American occupation ended after World War II in the 1940s.

This is somewhat nostalgic coz ive been a KPOP fan since the Kwave started, noon di p tlaga sya tinatwag n Kpop and the music ive been listening were mostly mga Kdrama OST. W/c leads me to their prime pop/balladeer groups such as TVXQ, SG Wannabe and Fly to the Sky duo. Of course ksma n din dun s mga pinakikinggan ko ang Actor/singer n si Rain, then Big Bang debuted npaka bata p nila noon mga around 2006/07 ata yun. Bcoz of Kdrama OST nanonood ako ng Music Bank ng KBS at syempre since its a Live ranking song chart with live performances na-introduce ako tlga ng husto s Korean pop music di lang. mga kpop groups inaabangan ko noon andun din ang FT Island and so many more Korean artist during that time. So in short i was introduce to KPOP even before KPOP was a thing in 2009. So now may PPOP n tyo n unti unti ini-introduce ng SB19 s global stage along with other new & existing PPOP groups i really hope n maging global genre din like KPOP ang POP at sana more Ppop groups will arrive, yung with same goal sana also like SB19 kc ung pagiging global ng kpop di nman yan kagagawan ng BTS alone, madami ng nauna na nka penetrate s US market before them like Big Bang, 2NE1, Wonder Girls anjan din si PSY. So if yung mga opm artist natin same vision/mission like SB19 na i-angat ang music quality ng OPM at i-share s mundo consistently eh im pretty sure magiging well known din ang PPOP just like KPOP. I'm one of the people who saw the tweets and watched the practice.. I was so shocked since it was in Tagalog at the same the discipline and synchronization was so high, Sila lang ang nakagawa nun... I'm still not complete ATIN but I'm supporting the boys since them from MV and streams..

BINI and BGYO has soooo much potential! I just hope they get a chance to meet a really good producer. Kasi talent-wise kabog talaga eh pati visuals panalo! Pero yung materials need talaga ng something na groundbreaking. ABSCBN should learn how to outsource teams when it comes to production and music making. Bigyan niyo ng chance yung ibang artists na tulungan kayo.

Love this! Been waiting for someone to come up with a video about the history of Ppop.. I would like to add that fhere was Apo Hiking Society who were very popular back i the 70s and 80s. Naalala ko kasi kung pano ,
kiligin ang mga tita ko sa mga kanta nila like "Yakap sa Dilim" (I think was the title). They were like the Ppop kings of their time. Also, I'm interested to hear SB19 do a cover of one of their songs. I learned something new in this vid. I mean ngayon ko lang nakilala ang Rockyfelller. Theyre like the TNT boys of thekr time.

Thank you dito Kuya Chuck! I hope maraming makanood para maliwanagan sila sa evolution ng Ppop. Just want to add some trivia, before boybandPH there's a group call T.O.P (Top One Project) they came from GMA's reality show "To the Top" they're good in singing (harmonization din!) and dancing as well. ( hindi nga lang kasing galing ng mga moves and synchronization ngayon) They are also mentored by Mr. Ryan Cayabyab. However, like SB19, they recieve lukewarm reception because of their looks (kahit gwapo naman) and compared to kpop visuals and other boosting group that time in our country like the boybandPH. As usual nag disband sila. Hindi din sila masyadong nakilala, Pero laman sila ng mga OST sa GMA.
Sorry for missing that! I didn't find them anywhere in my research. Some groups clearly got buried in history.

I just realized I've been listening and supporting Ppop this long without me knowing that it's actually Ppop. I just meet the word Ppop because of the What? MV which appeared in my recommendation a year ago and introduce me to Ppop and the Ppop Kings and the rest is history.

I already know gimme 5, nitro, 1.43 and Chicser. I also became an avid fan of Boy Band ph and Mnl 48 but I didn't know a Genre PPOP already exist that time until SB19 come. That means SB19 really the one who introduces us what really PPOP means and how relevant it was. And it is already existed in our country since then without even realizing it. That's why I'm so thankful with SB19 they really paved the way hope they will conquer the world to promote Filipino talents and culture together with the new existing ones.💠💠💠
