My brother was a huge fan. He passed away in May, and we played 'The Regulator' at his funeral. Thank for your music, and please know you mean so much to so many people.
Sounds like your brother was a badass. Cheers to him. DRINK TO THE DEAD ALL YOU STILL ALIVE WE SHALL JOIN THEM, IN GOOD TIME SHOULD YOU GO CROSSING THAT SILVERY BROOK IT’S BEST TO LEAP BEFORE YOU LOOK
That's so badass. I hope he's regulating in heaven. I saw this comment last night and I kept thinking about it all day. I bet he was a cool dude. I'm learning this song on drums right now and I'll always think of your bro when I hear this or regulator from here on out when I meet yall in the sky one day!!! Ttfn
I always lose my shit when they bust this one out at shows.....and you can always spot the wildly insane clutch fans milling about the place because they know every crazy ass verse.... cheers friends
Clutch is definitely the absolute stoner band.. they combine all a stoner likes.. Some funk to get up, some blues to chill out and some hard rock to kick it.. I feel so happy i found this band..
The Cliffside Inn was a actual Inn in Harpers Ferry WVA ,I used to drive by it on my way to work everyday....I live in MD & worked as a meat cutter/butcher in a grocery store in Charlestown WVA for a few years, the Inn closed years ago,I think it’s a Days Inn now or some shit....I’ve met everyone in the band except for Tim,a guy I worked with at a different store (this 1 was in MD) dated JP’s sister & I remember drinking with him in his folks garage before the 2nd self titled album came out....all those guys are cool as shit 🤟🏻🖤much love for Clutch
How anyone gives Clutch the down vote I will never know. I am approaching 30 times seeing them in 20+ years. Not many do it better or for as long or as intelligently as them!!
If you thumbs down clutch you have no clue about music imho. I️ will be seeing them for the 34th time in Columbus this New Years. It’s a bit of a drive for me well worth it. I’ve been farther for them I️ actually planned my vacation to Australia to see them several years ago. Well worth the trip
I’ve never seen them grew up in the 80s in Seattle and was on the scene there. Now in my 40s I stumble on these guys and I’m floored how good they are. Intelligent lyrics for the most part. Deep intense jams. Kyuss was my other new discover but they fall short to clutch
Neil didn't always have a giant beard. But he created some of the best rock music over the past 20 years. Get over it. Then he grew a big ass beard before it was trendy.
my favorite band ever. hung out with them on their rv once after a show. sold them a few ounces of weed. not neil because he didnt smoke. but we all chilled and ordered pizzas and it was awesome for me because id been listening to them since one latenight on mtv i saw the video for shogun named marcus. and this was back in the early 90s. still a fan. music just gets better and better.
I grew up in the DC/Baltimore area & im the same age as these guys,a guy I worked with dated JP’s sister & I remember partying in their folks garage ,this was before the 2nd album came out & I asked JP what it sounded like & he said “it’s sorta like the 1st one but it’s got a phatter groove”...I’ll never forget that shit 🤟🏻🖤nothing but love & respect for the whole Clutch family
You ever stop to consider that maybe the members of the band that allegedly bought drugs from you might not want that being public knowledge? Clean your act up and get some class, sunshine.
I'm almost positive after seeing the Old Bridge Police car in the beginning of the video that part of this was filmed at Birch Hill in Old Bridge, NJ....It was an Iconic club that pretty much every band on the planet played at during their rise to fame.....I saw Clutch there and still to this day have my Clutch shirt I bought that night, which was classic 90's ware. It was a skin tight baseball tee with black three quarter sleeves, and sat just above the hips to show off the Tramp STamp on my back with my 90's style hip huggers. God I miss those days!!! What great time!
I was at this show. Come to find out many years later that footage from this show was in the video. Birch Hill was the best. Sad day when it was sold, torn down & built over. Clutch & Old Bridge Metal Militia FOREVER 🤘🏻
Good morning friends, first of all I want to apologize for my English, I don't speak it and even less write it, but there is my appreciation of the band that we all love. Greetings from Peru..... "I just saw a series of concerts by this great band: CLUTCH, and I had a clear revelation. CLUTCH IS THE ROCK; They don't do Rock, they don't play Rock, they don't compose Rock ... they are THE ROCK ... I say this because, at this stage of life, they have managed to balance their roles within the band with extreme precision, that is to say: each one does what he should without detracting from the others. Each allows his companions to express his vitality in the way and time they need, without pressure of any kind. Because of this it is possible for everyone in general to become the Frontman of the group at some point. And something extremely important, which leads me to the first conclusion, is that you can do without them, yes, do without all the members, and get into the songs. It seems that they have become mere accessories or mediums whose function is to reveal the songs they have composed, with such vitality and dedication, and that they have taken on a life of their own for us, their audience. They may or may not be on stage. They could contort like haunted madwomen, like demonized possessors ... but they don't. They could throw a thousand harangues, manage the audience at will and ask them to do any idiotic thing like raise their hands and clap together ... but they don't ... They could use thousands of weird, ethereal or cutting edge effects ... but they don't need them ... they've managed to tame distortions, wha-wha and delay ... and it's more than enough ... They do not need to make fuss of any kind such as destroying or burning guitars, spitting at the public, jumping or doing risky things ... IT IS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY, their music, THE ROCK, is everything ... it has taken on a life of its own ... and they keep total respect ... We thank them that they do not wear weird, lavish or fashionable outfits, we thank them that they have not had facebook for a long time, we thank them that they do not worry about being hyperlinked or filling stadiums ... I feel (without fear of being wrong in the least) that their life, their profession, their food is Rock ... through them it survives ... because they are ROCK"
The greatest of all time! Clutch is probably the most underrated most awesome pure rock bands of our age! No BS, just the music... done with depth and high craftsmanship!
This song gets better over time. Very fresh still. Great lyrics. Wild guitar sounds. Love the change into the chorus. The whole album is worthy of smoking a bud, putting on the head phones, closing the eyes and just listening.
Behind the Cliffside Inn, I heard a fiddle and a mandolin, Keeping rhythm on an old washboard And stomping on the floor. Saw people of all sorts Dancing 'round in twos and fours, Caroling about days of old, And what the future holds. In the middle was a big cauldron That they were stirring, stirring, And there were trees around That they kept burning, burning. I asked a toothless man Who all these people were, And he said, "The soapmakers, And we are working, working." As they stirred Heaven and Earth, they combined to one, And everything was everyone and each one was all. As they stirred I heard a trumpet call, And everything was everyone and each one was all. As they stirred Heaven and Earth, they combined to one, And everything was everyone and each one was all. As they stirred I heard a trumpet call, And everything was everyone and each one was all.
been a fan of these guys since the mid 90's and finally got to see em live this winter in syracuse. they played in this small venue that used to be a movie theater. it was easy to get right up front. they kicked ass. they played an accoustic set after the main show too. corrosion of conformity played with them as well as a couple of other bands that i hadnt heard before. hell of a night. they sold 24 ounce red stripes for $2.
I was there too. They played "Big News 1" into "The Soapmakers". That was the first time I've ever seen them not play "Big News 2" right after. It was awesome!!!
If there was a band that would be the soundtrack of my life I would have to say its these guys I've seen them i don't know how many times way into the double digits, they've been the most solid always there always coming back for more band that I know 4 or 5 decades now, no line up changes always great live never a bad performance from impetus to quick death in Texas from space grass to regulator, pure rock fury all along the way the only constant consistency in my life ❣️
I still have a t-shirt that I bought when I saw Clutch on the Elephant Riders tour at the 9:30 club in DC & it’s still in pretty good shape ,Clutch is easily one of the most original bands I’ve ever heard & their live shows are some of the best & most fun I’ve seen ....here’s to another 20+ years guys 🍾
Keith Koene Just played last month in Lincoln Nebraska at The Bourbon Theater featuring Devin Townsend and The Obsessed. It was the best show I’ve been to.
partied with these guys in huntington, wv. they are cool as all hell. shane and the guys were so down to earth and cool that it was almost unreal. it was like hanging with old buddies. keep on rocking guys!

I forgot all about this band... wow. I just randomly thought of them - such a great band. I’ve seen them twice - def one of the best shows I’ve been to
It's definitely Neil Fallon. He does look a lot different without his man mask but the vocals are unmistakable. No one else sounds like Neil. Long Live C!
I am glad to have grown up with this band over the past 30 years. Vids like this take me back to the mid 90s in Nashville at club 328. Think I was 23 when elephant riders came out. But this vid was how it was at a Clutch show then. Aggressive amd smooth
I fricken love this song. I graduated highschool when I was 16 and allready had college credits. My freshman year of college I met a 19 year old military veteran dumbass, and it's 28 years later. He's still a dumbass my brother and one of the best people I've ever known. Song always reminds me of the mayhem I met my first brother in.

I used to drive by the Cliffside Inn he’s talking about,it was in Harpers Ferry WVA but closed a few years ago ( maybe longer) being from the same area as Clutch it’s cool when they add lyrics about stuff in the DMV area...long live fuckin CLUTCH!!! 🤟🏻criminally underrated & overlooked band, just a solid tried & true rock&roll band
I recall seeing these guys open up for Sepultura and Fear Factory back in maybe '94 or or '95. After that, I was hooked. Had the good fortune to see them again at a small venue in Lawrence, KS called the Bottleneck for the Elephant Riders tour in '98. It was an awesome show.
1:36 One of the heaviest fuzziest deepest groves I've ever heard. I used to bike commute to this album (Elephant Riders) but I had to stand up to keep my balls from rolling uncomfortably between my thighs, and the horn when this part kicked in. No shit, true story. That grove makes your balls hang when you're really into it.
wierd, saw them 3 times this year.. seeing them again in december, and then im going to go buy their new album in march! i really loved pigtown blues, a single that came out in june 2012!
My brother was a huge fan. He passed away in May, and we played 'The Regulator' at his funeral. Thank for your music, and please know you mean so much to so many people.
Sounds like your brother was a badass. Cheers to him.
DRINK TO THE DEAD ALL YOU STILL ALIVE

SHOULD YOU GO CROSSING THAT SILVERY BROOK
IT’S BEST TO LEAP BEFORE YOU LOOK
Absolute badass🤘🙏🤘🙏.

Sorry for your loss, but what an epic choice! I love that! Prayers…
Rest in peace brother ❤
Easily one of the best, most underrated bands of modern times.
How are they underrated? They're incredibly well known.
Clockwork Knight
No they're not. Hardly anyone knows who they are.
+Clockwork Knight Only way I knew about them was from L4D2
Good song, but I really miss their hardcore days.
I wouldn't say they're underrated, not at all
Beardless Neil Fallon isn't real, he can't hurt you.
One of my favorite albums by Clutch. The Elephant Riders album got me into this band
One of the greatest injustices in this world is that I can only like this song once!
I always lose my shit when they bust this one out at shows.....and you can always spot the wildly insane clutch fans milling about the place because they know every crazy ass verse.... cheers friends
This is my favorite song to mosh to.
IN THE MIDDLE WAS A BIG CAULDRON THAT THEY WERE STIRRING, STIRRING
Clutch is definitely the absolute stoner band.. they combine all a stoner likes.. Some funk to get up, some blues to chill out and some hard rock to kick it.. I feel so happy i found this band..

Laughed when I saw Oldbridge, NJ Po Po. They got me back in ‘99.
How anyone gives Clutch the down vote I will never know. I am approaching 30 times seeing them in 20+ years. Not many do it better or for as long or as intelligently as them!!

Seth Bohannon make the chance to see them.
Spot on.
Your sir, are a great man, and will inherit the greatness that is everything, because everything is everyone and each one is all
Everything is everyone and each one is all.
Just untouchable musicians. Who remembers this venue? The Birch Hill Nightclub in Old Bridge?
Remember it very well. Miss it so much. Soooooo many awesome shows came through that place.
This is like a fairy tail
💪🏼🤬👊🏼
Neil didn't always have a giant beard. But he created some of the best rock music over the past 20 years. Get over it. Then he grew a big ass beard before it was trendy.
i think it suits him more
Still rocking out to this in 2021? Definitely one of my favorites from Clutch. I always mosh hard as fuck every time I've seen this live.
Sometimes wisdom falls on deaf ears and sometimes you have to get up and pee!😂 Thanks Neil and company.
I am truly grateful for this band. i can't wait to see them live again.
Greatful dead!!!!

You charged them?
@codex5080 Missing the point, and 'clean up your act ' is in reference to respecting others' privacy.
As they stirred I heard a trumpet call,
And everything was everyone and each one was all.” 🤘🏻🤘🏻
this has got to be one of my favorite of many clutch songs
def my favorite clutch album.

My favorite Clutch song
You can hear the Black Sabbath influences in this tune. What a rocking band! Love these guys.
Holy... I didnt hear this until I read your comment. The epic tale, the driving beat, the stop/start bridge. Its so Sabbath.
I'm going to see these guys next week in NC for the first time 😊
Thick, funky ass groove. Clutch is badass
Behind the Cliffside Inn,
I heard a fiddle and a mandolin,
Keeping rhythm on an old washboard
And stomping on the floor.

Caroling about days of old,

Clutch = greatest music + greatest vocals + greatest lyrics.
Greatest beard... well not in this era.
Love the Lateralus pfp!
I love when the reverse part happens.
It is really strange seeing Neil without a beard.

+Drew Anocibar Yes it is werid. He's young in this video.

You don't expect such a deep dark voice to come out of such a clean cut young man
I love this band.... not a bad song out there. Pure Rock Fury

I have team rock radio to thank for introducing me to this band. It's too bad that team rock shut down.
Stomping on the Floor.STILL!
wierd, saw them 3 times this year.. seeing them again in december, and then im going to go buy their new album in march! i really loved pigtown blues, a single that came out in june 2012!
1.2 million views. I'd say that's viral, especially for a band like Clutch. Not nearly enough though 🤘🤘
This song has aged like fine wine!
Clutch is one of my all time favorite bands ever. They got signed to their first big record label after putting out just their first single.
LOVE CLUTCH! LOVE the CAIN'S T-shirt! I've seen you guys there a few times.
