@@brixelryan6963 You don't need to drown your entire chain in lube. A tiny drop per link is perfectly adequate. All that excess will just be wiped off, or if you don't wipe it off then it will attract a shit ton of grime, meaning you need MORE maintenance.
I've worked in bike shops in areas where bike maintenance is a myth. I've seen jockey wheels that look like perfect circles with small teeth on them only to remove a 1/4" of dirt and sludge off both sides

Yes! And a v or canti brake that squeezes at the same rate is also a thing of beauty! You know how it goes when you start out it takes a like four or five tries to get sorted out. After that pure perfection on maybe your second try!
Also the most positive effect on how a bike rides. I hate when the chain on the granny-gear starts to make sounds.... that's the time for a chain wash and re-lube.
Realistically no, however it's pretty easily to do it gently, I have a dulled out flat blade screwdriver I use for my jockey wheels and have done for years and they're just fine, no scratches or anything

I think the reason he's got so much build up on the jockey wheels is because of all that chain lube he's using. At least half of it is falling between the links to the floor anyway.
