Such cool content guys, as a Latvian I was so surprised to discover that these amazing places are right next to me, you really brought my own city to a different perspective to me. Glad u had so much fun there, although being tourists, I think u cached the real feeling of Riga's old town, where usually the most amazing adventures happen!
Same for me. Riga is actually my native town. I was born in Riga in 1983. In that "Belgian" beer house there were at least some Latvian sorts of beverage as well. I noticed Mežpils (Mežpils in Latvian means forest castle/palace).
yeah never knew Alus celle even existed or that they have so many interesting beers that you cant even buy in stores, considering I live 40km from Riga
YESSSSS!!!!! FINALLY PART 2!!! I’m soooo excited!! Can’t wait for more parts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SLAVA LATVIJAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻❤️❤️❤️❤️💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Crikey you boys really went for it with this one, not sure how you were able to stand haha Loved how simple it was filmmaking wise! Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication
This vid is awesome, really interesting insight/ perspective on the city. I'm really happy you included Labietis and Katkevich, those are some my the favorites.
Looked like you guys had a great trip! I'm a first gen. American with Latvian parents, and I love seeing the home of my ancestors so well represented! Just a few fyi's, Ala means "cave". The most traditional Latvian food made over here in America is called "piragi", crescent shaped buns filled with ham, bacon, onions and black pepper. If you go back, you should try them (addictive!) By the way, the Russians tried to take away the authentic Latvian dish's identity by calling any meat pie a pirags, but the one I described is the real one. It seems that Latvia and Japan have an interesting synchronicity. I know of a company in Japan, that's called by my name, Maruta. Finally, I was wondering if/how you liked the grey peas? You never said. I would love to see you fellas explore more of the country, someday. Thank you!
I'd never had black pudding with a sweet side until LIDO. The cranberry and apple sauce is banging and compliments the heftiness of the black pud perfectly. It's a seasonal dish though usually on the menu from Autumn to Winter for anyone visting you might not see it during the summer months.
Contrasting the food with the weather was brilliant. Who doesn't like to get into some comfort food when it is gray outside? Rigans must have look like they have it down on the local dishes and the imports. 👍
Riga was a great city. Didn't understand how any of these restaurants could exist when the average salary is ~half that of London's, but the prices are the same
salary range in riga is all over the place, theres russians in the suburbs making 500 euro a month, tech workers in the center making 5k and everything in between. but yes, most people wouldn' t be able to go out to these kinds of places more than 1 time a month
Great videos, just need to add pricing to the food and drink, gives everyone an idea then of what a weekend away may cost, keep up the good work though, only way is up 👍
Just a suggestion, you should put up pirces of all dishes as well, so the tourists could see and compare if they would like to visit these places. Born and raised in Latvia, enjoyed the video!
Great content lads, I do recommend going to countries less celebrated outside Europe. Like what is the top jaw in Tanzania? Paraguay? Kazakhstan? Plenty of content celebrating Europe out there.
My ex was from Riga, and everything that was home prepared, cooked and placed in front of me was returned to the kitchen. Because none of it looked as appetizing has some of the dishes you guys sampled. 😂

Ah Zane - what a great comment! Love to hear that you feel we’ve portrayed Riga in a way you find engaging!

Guys you need to visit Riga in a warm summer time. It is so green and lovely vibe. Amazing parks with old trees.
Japanese here🍡 FINALLY , Ramen that isn't too fancy and over the top. This looks like what we see in a regular ramen shop in Tokyo. Looks yum!
The highest compliment!! 🙏
I mean you guys are doing one of THE BEST food travel content on this platform. Good vibes, good food. Dont stop.
Thank you so much!

I'm moved back to Riga after 8 years living in UK. I learn places where to go from them. really educational for me 👍
One of the best video tones ever , loving the filter you use in your videos
As the granddaughter of a Riga man I now understand my love of the cold, seafood and the bizarre!
Contrasting the food with the weather was brilliant. Who doesn't like to get into some comfort food when it is gray outside? Rigans must have look like they have it down on the local dishes and the imports. 👍
Keep going Lads, you're doing great. I'm always excited for a new episode. Good job!

Riga was a great city. Didn't understand how any of these restaurants could exist when the average salary is ~half that of London's, but the prices are the same
Prices are generally much lower than in London, but yeah - not half!

Guys when are you coming to ATHENS 😫😫... Like, the city has one of the best lifestyles in Europe, it's top tier. You HAVE to visit!
well put together, classic uk boozers but quality clip
I can't believe they eat and drink all those piles of food and pails and ponds of drinks just in 48 hours. It definitely took longer time.
God bless you gorgeous bastards. I’ve always loved the energy between just Will and Jesse but big Lew is an awesome addition 👏👏👏
PLEASE have that guy around more.
We'd have Big Lew around everyday if he let us 😂

That sausage from Lido is made from buckwheat and blood - also traditional meal
Why would you drink Belgium beer in Latvia when we have so many beers to choose from??
so fun
Ha! Delirium is the best! Belgian monks know their business lol
Pink Elephants everywhere 🐘
Need more Big Lew tbf! Minimal food on this one huh?
When is Oslo on your menu? Good place to visit during summer, great vibe and even better food
We'd looooove to go, what's your top rec for Oslo Åsmund?
you should visit The Catch for the best sushi and sashimi experience ;)
On the list for next time! 📝
