I have heard so much about minecraft, I feel the need to download and play the game. LOL! It looks entertaining. :)

Brian Yach Yeah there are a ton of different materials and blocks in the game. It does take time to figure it all out and learn how the build process works, but once you figure it out it is so fun!! Mining is one of the most intricate processes in the game.
Brian Yach On all systems, you start/stop flying by double pressing the "jump" button. And yes, if you don't have someway of marking your house to see it from far away, or knowing where it is on the map, or just using a compass and knowing which direction it is in, then you are going to lose your houses often. It will be a huge problem if you lose a house on survival mode, so for a while don't wander to far away. Also, the map is one of the most confusing things to use in my opinion, so I never really do.
+Brian Yach The torch on the roof would work at night, if you don't venture to far off. Also, it doesn't take much to make wood and stone tools. You gather wood, and when you convert it to wood planks, you get two planks for every one wood block, then 4 sticks for every one wood plank, it stacks up quickly. So like, ten minutes or so of gathering wood, you would have enough to make several tools. Stone is just as easy. And yes, things that you or mobs drop does disappear after a while. It takes quite a while though. But I would pick it up as soon as possible.
