I just got this phone last Thursday and I hate getting to know a new phone . I needed a new phone and then was forced to get a new one because my screen cracked. Wasn't too sure about this phone except I was thankful for the cost through AT&t which is $1 a month for 36 months! So I need to learn more about it and so far I've watched two videos. Two of them dealing with one issue and then the one issue that I needed to know about on this video was how to take a selfie. This was great teaching and very informative. By the way I'm 73 years old and do pretty well with technical things but there's always something new. I love this phone!
It's like having a $2000.00 camera and Hollywood movie film/digital camera, for cheaps. Lot's of basic and advanced photography settings. The Panorama can do 360 degree capture, very cool. Nice Video, thank's! JB
Any idea about the camera issues? A lot of times the camera app will tell me "Not able to capture media" after recording a video, and the videos will not save. Whenever this happens my audio completely stops working as well. It doesn't matter what app, video, phone call etc I have zero audio from anything. I even tried it in safe mode, but that didn't help either. Very frustrating.
I watched several reviews of this phone that were not very complementary of the camera. I was going to go ahead and purchase it anyways but was a little disappointed - but after watching your video I am now excited about getting this phone because of the camera. Thanks!
Oh great I understand... My previous phone was a Samsung S20 so for me it was a HUGE DOWNGRADE and i am very disappointed of this smartphone "Moto G Stylus 2022". But i am not going to buy the S22 now because the S23 is going to be released in a few months so I think I can get a good deal in the S22 in the next months...
I thought my old Moto g stylus took way better pictures then this new one and that's probably with me dropping it at least 50 times. I'm really disappointed in the quality of this they all look out of focus to me. I went from taking beautiful pictures to whatever this phone's doing.

Like I said upstream no matter what this is a monumental upgrade from the junker I was running or should I say attempting to run. It was so obsolete the phone wouldn't even ring anymore for the last 3 months. So long to Consumer Cellular. I was a faithful customer for years but they started gutting their service and increasing their cost. They still wanted to charge over $200 for the phone I got for free. Okay enough Old-timer bitching :-)
so I just got this phone no more than 24 hrs and ughhh I'm not much of a moto brand but how can I enhance the quality of selfie mode. with my lg Stylo 5 it would fix all facial imperfections wether it was front or rear camera now this one does not. can you please help me also I do not get the arrow your talking about.
You get a Subscribe! First review I've seen that enthusiastically goes over the device in question and does Not spend the whole video negatively comparing it to $1k phones. I just bought this to REPLACE my Samsung S22 Ultra because I need expandable storage, a good camera, and a stylus! Each year I find myself more and more disgusted with Samsung.
Just got this phone for $149 as a drone only device however the camera seems like it’s kinda trash.. Just noticed my camera interface doesn’t look the same as what is on the phone you are reviewing.

Ok, the camera really, really, bothered me. The pics were so dull and blah. I tried many camera apps, and HDR is fine, but takes too long. At last I found an app that I could adjust saturation, intensity, brightness, warmth contrast... and it would save those settings as long as I didn't touch them... Cameringo Light or Cameringo+ has transformed my camera experience and I have deleted all previous apps, and relegated the factory app. Now, it is slightly less sharp than the iPhone camera my friend has, but otherwise it is really solid!🎉

It sounds like an issue with the memory.
Are you by any chance saving to a micro sd card?
The card could be corrupted

Perhaps - but for me it would be a huge upgrade from the burnt-out old phone I am replacing.
My carrier offers it on an easy payment plan.

I got the phone recently too and I turned on selfie photo mirror and it helped a lot 🙂

Google Photos is the gallery app. You can download third party gallery apps in the PlayStore too if you want something different.

Judging by the video now the last update on the camera has changed quite a bit.
These settings are very different on the 5g (2022) version!
