MBMK is a GIANT. Giant having such a control and skill is mot surprising. BUT when such a giant is challenging, the violinist standing to MBMK's rigor (31:50 onwards) is really SUPERB. Same is EXACTLY true with the mrudangam artist. Super, simply super. Both violinist and mrudangam artists are SUPERB -- 11 on a scale of 10. Withstanding to a giant like MBMK is simply BEYOND description.
Muthuswamy Dikshithar would have got blown away by the sheer beauty of his own krithi being rendered by Balamurali sir... what a blissful raaga aalaapanai. This was one of the best Hindola alapanai one can ever get to hear, probably the best ever too. As he mines in to the depth of the raga, it was sounding so beautiful and sublime. Annavarapu proves that he indeed is Balamurali sir's sahapaati by following him note by note while weaving his own magic. The gentle tap by the great Umayalpuram mama at the end of Annavarapu's aalaapanai was like telling us what is in store. He pumps in just enough energy in to his magical fingers and the mridangam too responds in agreement and starts singing, which the listener can clearly feel especially during the second phase of Swara Kalpanai. As Murthy sir narrated, Kalpana Swaram section was a pure bliss. Mathematical brilliance, imagination which went in to pull off this magical 2 phase Swara Prastharam was unimaginable. He takes it to some other un explored zone and beautifully carries both the accompanying artists along with him to the same zone. While the slow swaram phase brings the peace and tranquility to the mind, the fast phase presents the listener with a pure blissful experience and gets in to ones heart. Violin is known to accommodate all the variations a human voice can produce, echoing the human voice on mridangam is a different level altogether. Umayalpuram mama does that with such a brilliance, never dominating the singer while showcasing his class. What a blissful experience is this rendering. Will stand as one of most brilliant keertainais ever presented any one during any period of time. Thanks a million again Murthy sir for this wonderful gift.
Sri. Vinayaka Ram, Thank you for sharing your emphatic reflections. It is indeed a joy reading the aspects highlighted by you. Also, these observations has added additional perspective to my next listening session. Smt. Kamini, who was in the audience, witnessing the creation of this Hindóla has actually written the narration and will convey your endorsement on her observation. Appreciate your frequent comments on uploads in enhancing the listening experience of Muraligānam.
Thank you so much Shrinivas murphy ji... not only for this precious upload but also for the way in which you hv appreciated this performance. .stage by stage of the concert..he had divine gift ...voice n knowledge. .miss him all the more..
Great concert. Magical voice and scholarly singing, blissful accompaniments… grateful for the upload. The subdued and melodious playing of UKS is so wonderful
As a raga, Hindola always comes through as a celebratory raga. In his piece (which I regret is too short to satisfy the soul!), Annavarappu Ramaswamy brings forth a frolicsome quality that leaves one wanting more. While several accompanists have played with MBK, Annavarappu has in my mind always remained an alter ego of MBK's singing, almost as if he had entered the former's mind and was getting his cues from there. No doubt many violin accompanists have "enhanced" the MBK experience with their own genius; Annavarappu used to sound every time like he was a "twin" and not a separate being, especially when one heard this team live. Thank you, Sir, for this lovely piece.
Balamuraliji and Respected Annavarapu Ramaswamiji are learnt their Vidya at same Guruji know each other very well from chlidhood and that bond kept until last day Sri BMk.

A samagana rendering so pure, peaceful and pleasing to the ears. Thanks for uploading of the lovely songs and the narration of nirajakshi kamakshi. My pranams to guruji swargiya dr.BMK on his birthday -today
simply brilliant! with what ease and effortless command the great master singsthe accompanying artistes on voilen and mridangam are equally to the task.it is splendid and unique music. thank you very much.
Sir My pranams to you for giving us these gems. At the loss of adjectives to express my bliss while listening to sir's rendition, all i could say mention is Sri gurubhyonamaha! One from his compositions - " Ayya guru varya - nee anatitoh paaduchuntimayaa! Ne mrudu pallava vacho vilasamu pallavaiga, ma pallavi ga || Ne anubandhamu anu pallavi ga|| Ne charanamule charanamuga - ne aakriti ye maa kriti gaa|| "
Sir, Wondering if you have a kriti thats translated to telugu by Balamurali sir on goddess meenakshi in HIndolam. I heard this song when rajasree sainath a famous bharatnatyam dancer's daughter performed it. Would it be possible for you to check your collection and let me know please.
No sir. I have this kriti that i learnt. The one that i mentioned is a different one. am not getting it anywhere. i remember just a phrase of it - meenakshi mata ....
No madam, I haven't heard this composition (meenakshi maata), let me enquire about it. I will update you on finding it. By the way, there is one more composition on Mīnākshi in Hamsānandi and I suppose you might have listened.
The beauty of Dikshithar is the vilamba kalam. Hindolam climbs another level in this. That is the beauty of the Dikshiithar. Most intellectual amongst the trinity.
BMK sir is the only person to predominate swaras in tristhayi. Marvelous presentations expressing Sahithya in such a clarity is possible to BMK sir only. This was my grandfathers opinion as a musician as well my father's opinion as a music lover enjoying music for 60 years. Thanks to srinivasa murthygaru.
Words fail to describe. The only person to sing this krithis exactly as it is notated in sangeetha sampradaya pradarshini.

Hats off. No comments at all. Only those who are above mbmk can comment. Is there anybody at present. It is doubtful.
No singer other than balamurali can sing like this....hats off to this great singer
Great from legendary Sangeetha kalanidhi Balamurali Krishna, unforgettable ❤
Excellent sir
