1993 honestly is one of my favorite years for the company. The Smoky Mountain invasion, Bret vs Lawler, Steiners/Quebecers, Crush heel turn, start of Owen’s heel run, Yokozuna as a monster heel champ, Corny as the American Spokesman and the crossover with the USWA. It was a overall fun year.

I think the reason the clip took off is because so many of us had no idea it existed and it just grabbed everyone's attention. I know when I saw it I had to stop what I was doing and watch it because I had no knowledge of it. Seeing Bobby and Jim work together like that was a treat. It was like seeing Ric Flair walk into a WWF ring and Hulk Hogan welcoming him like a long lost friend.

Something similar happened on the debut of Brother Love. Heenan came in and gushed about how great he was one week. Next week, Ted DiBiase gave him a bunch of money to fund his enterprise or whatever. Basically, the vibe was "These guys are terrible and they like this guy, so he must be terrible as well."
The Key though, is the person being talked up as to hold up their end of it. And Corny and Love both did so.

However nervous Jim was pre show, must pale in comparison to him walking into ring hearing/seeing Heenan putting him over so profusely; talk about EXTRA pressure!!!

Heenan talking first is obvious genius.
Set Jim up so he can barely fail.
Don't let him talk and agree with him.
Cos we know Heenan, so he GIVES the rub, Jim can't "take" it simply saying he knows/is excited to work with Heenan.
Heenan is the legend, Jim the "protege"/future

It's popular because as I said when I posted my reaction to it on the last video I commented on.
It's popular because, it's more genuine. It's more real in a way. No scripts no B.S. Then, you add in
Vince's reaction by calling out another promotion. Where remember, he punished Sammy Zayn for calling out AEW?
I mean, just everything in that four minuets. Jim's reaction and Bobby's and just the whole thing. It was flawless.

Hah! I've had that clip on my recommended page for the last 5 days! Bobby Heenan put over Cornette huge in that segment and basically passed the torch. I think pretty much everybody who is subscribed to this channel or has watched these cornette video's was recommended the segment.

I only just saw that the other day. Never got to watch 80s wrestling and wasnt even born during that time but it was a good watch. Bobby played the "oh my god" thing well too. Got everyone even more invested into jim

I was born in 85, my family use to watch wrestling all the time. Earliest events I can remember is when Barry Windham turned on Lex Luger, ROad Warriors turning on Sting, Great Muta Vs Sting, Flair beating Steamboat and Terry Funk pile drivering him afterwards. Halloween Havoc 89 Flar/Sting vs Funk/Muta. Ultimate Warrior , Hulk Hogan , Macho Man , Rude and that Wrestlemania game on NES lol

I didn't know Jim Cornette at the time. Bobby Heenan was the man so his word was gold. If he said Cornette was good, he was good with me. Ever since then Ive rode with Corny.
