This has been a song that I’ve sung with my dad ever since I was a baby. Now here I am planning my wedding with my beautiful wife to be and we were to discussing what song she should walk down the isle to, and this instrumental popped up on my feed. I thought “why not?” I pressed play and the second those first three notes played on the piano my heart just melted and tears poured down my face. This song means so much to me and my relationship with both my heavenly and earthly father. Picturing my bride walking down the isle with those notes absolutely destroyed me. I used to go to church when I was young. My dad would sing this every Sunday and sometimes on Wednesdays and he died October 31st, 2003, I was 7. The main chorus of this song is on his gravestone. The -! Mom recording of him singing plays at everyone of my families funeral (we have had a lot of death in my family). I’ve turned away from God before and I struggle with it and hearing this song instrumental or not, I can’t help but cry. Not necessarily sad tear but just I feel this song on a spiritual level. I don’t go to church anymore, I wish I did but it’s a constant reminder of my dad. I’m 24 now and still have issues with my dads death. I don’t know how to accept it and I often have existential crisises. I try to ignore and pray for faith and help and all I ever hear is “Go back to church” and I don’t. I don’t know why but He gives me ways to solve my problems but I can’t because church hurts now. It’s in a small town and everyone there knows me and remembers my family because we used to be so active. I don’t feel like anyone understands. I don’t even understand. I just pray because I feel like I can’t do anything else.

You can call out to Him anytime. He loves you so passionately. I tell God to tell my daddy that I still think about him everyday and I miss him. I know He relays the message.
