You're not there yet, but you're getting towards the endgame missions that will lock you out of free traveling or upgrading. At some point you'll have a chance to board an imperial shuttle. That will lock you into a series of missions that will take you to the end of the game. Before you do, you should upgrade the shields on the trailblazer and make any weapon and hull upgrades you can afford. There's a large space battle later and you'll be happy for all the ship upgrades you could get. Maybe even run some space missions for practice. If you want an extra health point, go back to Toshara and visit the traveling merchant just north of Typhons rock where you can buy the copalroot bead minor charm for 1000 credits.
