Heyo! here's a music cover from yours truly.
This Time I did the Guardian Stalker theme from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
I think I got the intensity down, but I wanted to add in some more failing machine sounds so that the listener can really feel the... well... corruption.
Hope you enjoy!
(Btw listen with headphones to get some panning of the piano. You'll hear it slightly go from one ear to the other.)

Imagine you're exploring totk, maybe depths, maybe surface, then you see a guardian in real bad shape, looking like it had been partially dismantled and then abandoned, and thinking, "huh, that's wierd, almost all the sheikah tech is gone," you approach it, then it starts shaking. A stuttering orange glow appears in its hull as it struggles to pull itself out of the ground and this theme begins playing. A flickering red laser appears as a dim blue light shines in its eye. You realize you are dead.
Ah, won't that be a treat.
Also when after a few seconds the music turns into a medley between the Guardian theme and the Gloom hands theme.

Would have been cool but it's far too much effort for the TOTK team to willingly exert themselves on, plus they seem scared to heavily reference BOTW anyway.

This song gave me genuine chills and made my hair stand on end. It's the song of something broken, decayed, desecrated, that doesn't care about its injuries. It doesn't care that its already half dead. Before this happened to it, before it became a hollow shell of its former self, it was a hunter. A killer. A protector and a guard. A weapon. And now that its sights are set on you, it won't stop until one of you is dead.
Guardians could have been something that was much more sinister with a real threat. An overbearing corruption controls them, but they're little more than mobile sentries in BotW.
I visually imagine one rushing Link and pinning him down, if they were corrupt and powerful much like Metroid Dread's EMMI units.

yeah but you gotta admit depending on when you first encountered a guardian or a guardian sees you at random and you didnt know it was there well by golly did you get quite a fright as the song just suddenly shows up that god damn piano rift

Well if you watch the trailer and the aoc cutscenes, it seems that they are much more of a threat in canon

Imagine you’re playing Tears of the Kingdom, and you find what looks like a deactivated Guardian Stalker down in the depths (because where else would one expect to find something horrific), but it has some gloom near it (not surprising, considering it’s in the depths). You think “huh, I didn’t know there would be any trace of Sheikah technology in Tears of the Kingdom.” Curiosity compels you to examine it. And then it wakes up, and starts looking around, before it harshly jerks its head toward you; and this theme starts playing. You’ve stumbled upon a corrupted Guardian Stalker, good luck, you will so need it.
My man went from scratch to making full on covers, i love how it sounds. 10/10

I feel it would be cooler if in Tears of the Kingdom, Malice fully fuels the Guardians and makes them much more dangerous proper mini bosses you have to hunt down to challenge.
The malice doesn’t target every guardian this time, but rather, it targets maybe a few dozen guardians with lots of malice. Yeah that would be cool. I mean, AoC literally introduced the idea of malice guardians so…
If only in Totk, Gloom makes that one guardian on top of Hateno Lab come back to life, and every blood moon, it spends a few minutes chasing you down no matter where you are, and attempts to destroy you. Kind like the Battle-tested guardian, but worse.
Imagine for the dlc you find the battle tested guardian from aoc dlc and it remembers you. But suddenly, gloom hands spawn right next too you and the gloom hands start possessing and corrupting the battle tested guardian. This theme starts in the cutscene. Now it is a gloom guardian that is 20 percent faster and does gloom damage.
In player: *Dies of 50 heart attacks**
Lets not give totk ideas now..
But the question i want answers to is: If we beat it, do we free the Battle tested guardian from the gloom hands?
*Corrupted Guardian Stalker*
Has 25% less HP than Guardian Stalker, 10% more movement speed when chasing Link, has 40% less aggro range than. Guardian Stalker, Corrupted Guardian Beam will either 75% less damage than normal but fire a dark orange beam 4 times, fire a bright red beam that deals 250% more damage than normal but will incapacitate the guardian for 10 seconds, a green beam that deals 50% of the normal damage with a 50% recharge rate, or a normal blue laser. Each attack has 25% of occurring and you can tell what attack will occur with a colored glint right before it fires.
5% chance to attack other guardians.
Or...Gloom Spawned guardian. Moves around on the hands, spreads malice for a while.
seems kinda easy
I'd keep the health the same but add in a death burst that actually deals damage akin to the CPU overheating and lower the down time of the stronger beam by 2 sec.
Imagine this being the theme of the last semi-active guardian, struggling to hold itself activated and still fulfilling its duty to destroy and vanquish calamity ganon but not knowing the difference between friend or foe even tho the malice vanished from its system. Would be cool to see it in some ruins or if it wouldve been a miniboss before hitting off to the spirit temple.
This sounds like if Ganon got control of the battle tested guardian.
If they put Malice Guardians from AoC in Tears of the Guardian, this should 100% be it’s theme.
Edit: it's 3 months after release and I only just realised I typed Tears of the "Guardian" 🤣🤣🤣

This what the Guardian hard ware be like made by the sheika than corrupted by the malice and going on a rampage through highrule killing any thing it sees. It would been more cooler if they make the Guardians more sinister and deadly backstory

I like to think the beginning of the animation is what guardians see when corrupted, but it says “Trojen detected… corrupted”

bruh imagine a bunch of gloom hands carrying a broken guardian, a guardian without legs and stuff corrupted by gloom and working with the gloom hands. it can climb up walls and stuff and fires lasers that inflict gloom damage.
that's stressful just thinking about it. i wish they would do something like that for dlc enemies

Im still surprised to see how they completely got rid of all shiekah technology in totk. How did they just get rid of the towers and shrines? Edit: Im only a little bit in totk, so if im missing something big, i’m sorry.
They probably went underground again, in botw when you first activate the tower all other towers and the shrines pop out of the ground, so the reverse probably happened
I know this is a month ago but this is my theory
Calamity Gannon comes back every 10,000 years so the towers were used as scanners to detect the Calamity. After being beat they probably had no more use of the towers so they and the shrines (imagine link passed each one) went back underground.
The Divine Beasts broke down after the defeat of Calamity, there’s a post credit in BotW about how one of the beasts stopped working and responding.
The guardians I bet they decommissioned them and re-engineered new things like the towers to make sure a threat like that never happens.
Tears of the Kingdom is 5 years after the events of Breath of the Wild so A LOT can be accomplished In 5 years :)

For sure Tears of Kingdom will get DLC’s in the future like BotW did I think it’d be cool if they added like one last guardian as a boss maybe not with malice but with gloom and maybe half machine legs and half gloom hands just crawling at you…

Man just imagine they add a new area for a totk dlc and its a place where you can find a giant Guardian that looks like its broken down but comes to life as a gloom form. The guardian will take more than just a laser to the face youll need to take out all of its power sources around and perfect parry lasers into it 10 times
People think the early game lynals are scary imagine the guardians played this instead of the basic music so it would be even more menacing in early game

When a malicious patch is installed.
Playing this at 0.75
It would be even cooler if the script in the background before it became corrupted was Sheikah but slowly converted to Gerudo or Hylian cuz of Malice which originates from Ganon. But how do that now is the question.
