[12] Surveying The Seafoam Islands // Fiery Showdown On Cinnabar Island • Pokémon Fire Red Nuzlocke

After having been busy with a move to a new house and unable to stream for a while, we finally return to Kanto to continue our Nuzlocke journey, with Route 20 and the penultimate Gym Leader before the Elite Four in our sights at Cinnabar Island. Before we could make it to Cinnabar Island, we were first met with a freezing cold trek down and through the Seafoam Islands, where we then also came to a realization that we would need the HM Strength to solve a puzzle requiring us to move heavy boulders around the area and block the flow of treacherous water currents at the lower levels of the cavern, blocking our exit. At the lowest level of the Seafoam Islands we discovered what could be a Legendary Pokémon and battled it hoping to catch it. And after we had successfully solved our way through the water currents of Seafoam, we emerged on the other side of the Islands, with a short Surf over to Cinnabar.
Once we were at Cinnabar, we stopped to top off our Pokémon's health and then went in to explore the Mansion across the island, seeing as how the Cinnabar Gym's front doors were locked. In our exploration we came across journals detailing the experimentation of an ancient Pokémon known as Mew, and the subsequent creation of another Pokémon known only as Mewtwo. This Mewtwo in particular was also described in the journals to be "far too powerful" and that they were unable "to curb its vicious tendencies..." At the bottommost levels of the Mansion was a Secret Key and once we had it, we decided it was time to leave this place and whatever else might be lurking in its depths. Back outside we decided to test and see if the key could open the Gym and to our surprise, it did. Now we were faced with a series of gauntlets of unavoidable battles leading up to the Gym Leader Blaine, and his superheated party of Fire-Type Pokémon. -- Watch live at / emmanuelisataco
