Deets death was just as hard on me. He was such a pure soul. Genuinely cared about that little blind boy and didn’t drop him even when he was speared through the chest. Call made his first head stone and Gus teared up reading it. 😥
The way Call cried when Deets died and couldn't talk.. what am awesome series. I've watched it at least 30 times over the years and still never gets old.

I came looking for Lonesome Dove to say I cry everytime I watch it. I been watching it for a month straight. It came out in 89 I watched it with my Grandma Live. It’s a mf’n MASTERPIECE!!!!
I just finished it yesterday and this is 1000% accurate. The music is what will get you. Basil Poledouris was at the top of his game when he did the soundtrack for Lonesome Dove.

My darling Josh, there are still men who are stout of heart and true heroes in this world. Lonesome Dove is a reminder of steadfast friendship, allegiance to your values and grit in the face of adversity. That person comes in all sizes, colors and might be a woman or even an old man. The trick is to seek them out for they are your true kinfolk. God bless and be safe🕊

When I worked as at a Juvenile facility I would play the series during Study hour. After watching the first 2 hours they were hooked and using phrases from the show,
Please tell me you watched The Big Country at some point during this Western binge. Burl Ives delivers a speech nearly as memorable as Robert Shaw's epic "USS Indianapolis".
Watch BONE TOMAHAWK!! In my opinion, the best Western of this new millennium... Possibly ever for me! It quickly became my favorite movie after seeing it! I LOVE Westerns and have seen and read basically all of the great ones and plenty of lesser known titles too so this comes from a true Western fan and fan of films and novels in general
Dude, I can’t believe you didn’t mention Deets dying. I literally can’t take that part. I’m convinced they split his death between the end of Part 3 and the beginning of Part 4 because they knew people couldn’t take that all at once. One of the greatest characters in the history of movies.
I remember waaay back when it debuted on... CBS I think. VHS tapes were still a kinda new thing and my mom recorded the entire series and those tapes sat on the book case for the longest time. This movie had to be a TV mini series to get all the important stuff in, but because it was a TV mini series its get overlooked and that is a huge shame. It is easily one of the best Western movies ever made.
There was also a Lonesome Dove The Tv series for the first year of its existence, followed by Lonesome Dove The Outlaw Years for the remainder of the series. It follows Newts life.
There is something that's even better than the Lonesome Dove miniseries - the book from 1985 called "Lonesome Dove." It's lengthy, but if you like the miniseries, you will fly through the book.
Super video of my favorite book and miniseries! I couldn't stop laughing! Thanks, I really needed that. I have to say I probably used an entire box of tissue crying at the death of Gus!
Josh, one of the reasons I like you, is because you can understand the scene when Gus and Caul are leaving San Antonio. When Gus realizes that he’s obsolete. When he’s in the same position with his times as the Indians he had to clean out were with the times when he was young.
Josh, I just found your channel & I’m loving it. Could you please do a video on YoungGuns 2 ? I know you have done one for YoungGuns 1. I have always liked number 2 better. Great content, folks just don’t know the struggle of the Zeo Rangers.😂
Bruh, to have to watch "All The Pretty Horses" now that's a great movie. It's got love, fights, heartbreaks, and some revenge scenes. Maybe it's just cause I'm down in Mexico that it hits home with me about.

One of the hardest scenes to watch is Pea Eye staggering around in the scrub near death. The music, and stark landscape. Powerful!

Watched Lonesome Dove just last year and this is the best review of the show I've seen.

Two of my favorites...The Quick and the Dead. 1987 Sam Elliot, Kate Capshaw, and Tom Conti. Conagher, Sam Elliot, Katherine Ross, and Barry Corbin.
I know Gus dying messed me up too I swear I cry every time!! I can watch that movie over and over and never get tired of it♡
Sarah Scarlett, have you ever read the book? It's even better! There were two prequels written as well from when Gus and Call were young Rangers.
