Magical! Beautiful face, beautiful voice. I was a little girl when this episode originally aired but I've never forgotten this episode. I just hope that one day she might read this comment and know how much people loved this. I loved Knots Landing and this moment was amazing ❤
I loved Knots Landing…came to the party 1988. Although, I was definitely aware of it and remember my aunt watching it when I was little. I remember Ciji and the beach & watching quietly at the neighbors when Val’s baby was in the station wagon & slow motion. Dynasty was my show & Paper Dolls. I watched Falcon Crest late 1989.
@@evelynbeveraggi8724 I remember the night it began airing (in 1979)....tuned in, since it was a spin-off of "Dallas"...then it ended up outdoing "Dallas" in so many ways.
Valene so stoic, Abby looking like cat that just ate the Canary...Karen on the verge of a breakdown...I still LOVE this song SO much, and the series, I watch all the time!!! It's timeless!!!
Totally agree. I still love this song. I bought somewhere on Ebay an old Lisa Hartman album just to get this track. Knotts Landing is my all time favorite show of any type. Followed by Friends. =)
A wonderful scene! Lisa Hartman nails this song, and if you listen to the words of the song you'll find it's a perfect choice for the mood of these characters at this point in the show. Thanks for posting!
Me difinitely too, I started following KL after got hooked with Lisa performances and styles back then... Only later, got hooked with the drama itself..wow..cant believe it.has been for more than 30 years now..
This was the best show and I never missed an episode. I remember this one clearly and remembered how much I loved this song. This is from 1983 or 1984. I remember Michele Lee's character Karen broke up with Mack that's why she's so upset. Boy did I LOVE the 80's.
@@louiscoremin7384 Sid died at the beginning of the third season, and this episode is from the middle of the fourth. Karen had essentially moved past mourning Sid and began a relationship with Mack. They were married shortly afterward.
I absolutely LOVE Lisa Hartman! This song is on the album "Letterock", which I have! I have yet to be able to find it on CD, however! Guess I'll have to transfer it to CD. The entire album is actually VERY good!
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SONG. SO WELL DONE! LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL JOAN VAN ARK N DONNA MILLS LOOKED. THAT HAD TO BE AROUND THE TIME SID PASSED AWAY. THE WAY KAREN RESPONDED TO IT! SHE HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE
I'm a HUGE Country Music Fan and ONLY heard of Lisa Hartman Black because she had a Country Music Duet out in the 90's with her husband Country Music Singer Clint Black and I was sooo curious to see if Lisa Hartman EVER sang ANY other songs and this Pop Song that I'm listening to for my FIRST time does NOT disappoint. GREAT singer! BEAUTIFUL voice! :) Thank you for uploading this song. :)
I qas going to school on the 79th floor of the World Trade Ctr 4 nights a week to the Traffic Academy...every Thursday i would go to my boyfriends house for dinner....his father & I wiuld watch Knotts Landing together...no one else...then i would go home...a great memory to the man who became my father in law...
This is why I make Musik nowadays. This is why I do worship god with my guitar. Musik ist the key to our hearts. To heal hearts, to tell him whats important. Michelle Lee has shown perfekt the emotion of the song.
Thanks so much for posting. I love Lisa Hartman Black so much! I remember the thrill of watching "Knots Landing" back when she was Ciji and then came back as Cathy. She's a great actress and singer. :)
I was in junior high when this aired. Whenever I hear this song and Lisa/Cathy cover Journey’s “Separate Ways”…I flashback to being 13 and my carefree life as a 1980’s teen in California.
This is why we can't have nice things! LOL. - I'm referring to why KL has released further seasons on DVD. This scene is magic - captures so many stories, but Ciji's song truly underscores Karen's pain at the loss of love (again), as she tells Mack, just prior to being seated, that's it's over. They can't clear the music, and they certainly can't cut this scene from the show - especially since it ends the episode. We see this throughout the season too - Ciji will start to sing, but it usually during very pivotal moments which cannot be excised from the show. I loved Lisa Hartman!
Ohhhh Lisa --u were my first celebrity crush …. Talented voice! Great memories on watching you on KNOTS LANDING .! Your tv death n your surprise return … you are truly a shining star !!

Thank you but I already have the official release of Knots Landing season 1 and 2 on DVD. What I meant was that I wish someone would officially release season 3- 14 on DVD.
Oh wow I had such a crush on Lisa Hartman Black...Sexy and talented and a great addition to the show outside of Donna Mill's... Clint black was a lucky fellow. I'm so glad they brought her back recast as Cathy...
Was this a crossover episode between Knots Landing and the science fiction show V? Some people will get it. Also, what was the awkward glance at about 1:50 between Abby and Gary and the Ginger/Hot guy couple? Was there something plot-wise there?
Gary and cul-de-sac neighbor Kenny Ward (“hot guy”) were partners in developing Ciji’s career, but Abby wanted hotshot producer Jeff Munson instead. Seeing millions of dollars in a recording contract, Abby persuaded Munson to attend this show. She gave Kenny and wife Ginger the eye because she knew she would soon have Kenny out of the way and all the money for herself and Gary.
@@markfaulkner5626 Thank you for that thorough and well-written description. I was a kid when the series aired and only remember starting to tune in somewhere between Ciji being found all Laura Palmer like on the beach and the Ciji “double” making her hotel maid debut, so there were some early plot developments I only got later through reruns and write-ups and some I simply missed. What you described seems so appropriate for Abby Lol.
Lisa Hartman’s contribution to Knots Landing was an asset to the show in its way… Trouble is: the character of Ciji Dunne never should have been eliminated in the first place. Many Knots fans, including myself, were somewhat relieved at returning Lisa Hartman back to the Knots cast, but I view casting her as a new character that would be an obsession for Gary as a BandAid approach. Anyway, if I had a dollar for every visit I’d paid to the beloved cul-de-sac….

Out of all the Nighttime Soaps Knots Landing was the classiest and best
@Christian Ada. I agree. Flamingo Road will always be my favorite prime time soap, but Knots Landing was the best of them all.
Choose Kindness Dynasty was #1 for me followed by Knots Landing, Falvon Crest... I didn't know too much about Flamingo Road but will check it out!
